Consistently excellent food - pasta is wonderful. Need to make a reservation. Tends to be an older UES crowd and be aware that the place often empties out at 10:00.

Quite simply, my husband and I love Paola's. We have been going to Paola's for many years and there is a reason for that--service is absolutely outstanding and the food is consistently excellent. Also, the wine list is very reasonable--especially for the neighborhood.

Party of eight people ranging in age from 8 to 80 early on an Easter / Passover Saturday. Everyone left happy declaring “Paola is our first choice for holiday dining.” Easily handled food allergies and vegetarian preferences. Strong wine list. Very good mixed drinks. Exquisite Italian food including half orders of fine pasta dishes. Wonderful desserts. Excellent staff. On par with Boulud Sud, Lincoln.

Nothing is an issue at this restaurant that deserves more than 5 stars in every category. We have been dining at Paola's for years and never tire of the homemade authentic, regional, freshly prepared pasta dishes, and we always have a problem selecting which other dishes to order. The experience is as wonderful as the food.

Paola's was a real find! We visited the restaurant before going to the 92nd Street Y event and it was perfect. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and menu and the food was beautiful and delicious. The food was prepared perfectly - it was a bit pricey but no less enjoyable.

I love Paola's. The menu is varied, with plenty of seafood and Italian dishes that are somewhat lightened up. Great wine list! Their cheese cake is the BEST I have ever had, anywhere. I will go back again!

I have dined here many times with very consistent positive experiences. This is a restaurant for grown-ups, meaning people that appreciate authentic well prepared Italian food served without pretension or unnecessary fuss. The fried artichokes are fantastic and the pastas delicious and creative. Very diverse menu with Italian specialities that are rarely prepared well here in the US. Great wine list although a little on the pricey side but there are plenty of good bottles in the $75 range. It's not a showy place, just a restaurant that has a great kitchen and accommodating service.

The food at Paola's is very good consistently. Unfortunately, so is the noise level. It's impossible to have any conversation there. Everyone in our party was stressed by the noise and could not wait to eat and leave. That's not a type of place you leave relaxed.

Everything about our first evening at Paola’s was wonderful — so much so that we returned for dinner the following night! I suspect everything on the menu is terrific, but we especially enjoyed the minestrone, the pasta with sweet sausage and broccoli raabe (split for an appetizer), the grilled shrimp with arugula and grilled corn (it was so good I had it BOTH NIGHTS!), the ravioli with veal and eggplant (so delicate!), and for dessert, the tartufo, and the profiteroles with hazelnut gelato. The service was perfect: just the right amount of attentiveness and courtesy without being overly presumptuous. I’m sorry we live out of town and can only get to Paola’s when we’re in the City. I can’t recommend Paola’s highly enough!

Lovely atmosphere for a late afternoon lunch and quiet conversation. The service was attentive, but not rushed as it sometimes can be when one lingers late and one's original server's shift is ending. Overall a great experience for a first-time customer.

Pleasant service, but the food missed the mark. Ingredients fresh, but not seasoned well. Some combinations should have worked, but didn’t, like the mushrooms and goat cheese—tasted mostly of oil. Just not worth over $100 for a single meal.

We had an excellent dinner at Paola's. The pasta entrees were superb (highly recommend the pappardelle with pork ragu and rigatoni with spicy sausage and porcini mushrooms) as were the brussels sprout salad and crispy artichokes to start. If you have room, share the hazelnut profiteroles! The space is cozy (crowded and noisy) but still able to have a conversation and enjoy nonetheless. The service was friendly and attentive too. We will definitely return soon!

The food was both creative and delicious and the restaurant was physically attractive and most comfortable . Unfortunately, the service we experienced from the head waiter to the busboys was inattentive and, at times, bordering on rudeness. I will go back to be certain we were not there at a difficult time -it was New Year's Day, and the food was superb..
