Pao by Paul Qui – Faena Hotel Miami Beach
Pao’s beverage program will include an extensive list of wines from old and new world regions, an international liquor selection, innovative cocktails from an impressive team of mixologists and playful non-alcoholic libations.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing place. Well worth a visit. Our waiter was fabulous with recommendations and that the food should be served. Would definitely go back.
Amazing service and food. A little bit overpriced.
The food was terrific, but the service and overall experience was very disappointing for a restaurant with such high pretensions. The waiter fundamentally blew the order of the serving of the dishes in a way that defied logic and destroyed the natural order of the meal. He, Bismarck, talked endlessly but failed to listen to the most important part of the order, the order of serving dishes. He, the assistant manager, and the manager all failed to understand the gravity of the mistake, offering measly tokens in return for poor service. They seem accustomed to serving trust fund babies, nouveau riches, and tourists without discerning tastes and demand for proper service. And the manager seemed more sympathetic to their insults about my legitimate complaints than the actual poor service my wife and I received. One of them suggested that if I have complaints, then I cannot afford to eat there. Seriously?? I never raised my voice in this dialogue, and insults from next table sharpened while the manager did nothing to admonish them for their rudeness to me but proceeded to threaten bringing security on me if I did not pay my bill, which I did and walked out. So bottom line, there is real attitude problem amongst serving staff and management coupled with attitudinal regular customers who believe their wealth affords them free passes to rude behavior. Not going back there! And can’t we rescind this imposed 18% service charge in Florida restaurants?
Todo espectacular. Hermoso ambiente, atención dedicada y comida deliciosa. El "asado", imperdible.
Our waiter was a bit overzealous but it’s hard not to be when the food and cocktails are at this level of inventiveness.
Great service & innovative food. Can really recommend, deserves Michelin Star.
Chris was amazing and really took the time to explain the menu and the Chef’s background. Chris also have great recommendations and was very professional and warm throughout. Excellent service and also got to meet the Manager Leticia who was super nice! Food was superb cannot wait to go back! Fave were the kinilaw, short ribs and fish entree
Extremely attentive and educated staff. Great vibe. Food was excellent.
Not what it used to be 3 years ago...
Poor quality of food and service.
Despite reservation - waiting 60min for a table!
Tasting menu is served as sharing menu...
Crowd is trashy...
2 stars only because we got a bottle off the bill at the end and the manager apologized at the end for the poor experience.
Uno de los mejores restaurantes con una atencion increible, excelente comida, excelente servicio al cliente, volvere muy pronto, excelente lugar para cualquier ocasion que desees.
Off the hook pan-Asian experience. Small plate fried chicken was excellent, grilled octopus was solid, and whole grilled fish (bronzino) was perfect - perfectly spicy and sweet.
Wait staff somewhat unprofessional - but not noticeable inadequate. Just ordinary.
Great way to spend Friday night.
Ischam our waiter was amazing explaining the menu and was a pleasure
Love the atmosphere. Our server was so fabulous and on it!! Highly recommend for large parties. Good food, not memorable, but it’s yummy.
Top notch all the way around.
Pretty restaurant in a dramatic and beautiful setting. Decent service, very good food at a good price
Pricey but excellent food and service with a very Miami/Vegas scene. Underrated in other forums especially in this market. Chris is awesome as well.
Lovely. Great service
Amazing service and food.
Perfect night. First the Faena Theater and then the fabulous food Pao. Food, service all outstanding. A bit on the pricey side, but overall great.
Vacation with my love
This place was excellent. Not too large. Felt cozy. The food was top notch. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like. Highly recommended.
If you want cold streak for $85 and a horrible management (the gentlemen, not the female) then try it. Was very shocked. Happened 2x. They can do a lot better than this! I am a local and have been before. Totally off.
What a wonderful experience. Beautiful room. The food was delicious; especially the fried chicken and sea urchin. But what made the experience so pleasurable was our server, Kristy. So lovely and patient with us while she explained the menu. Looking forward to returning.
Amazing! Great chef and great food. Claudio our server was amazing of course
Ask for Jed. He is the best server around
Great experience, Not so great at bar in the hotel.
Pao was a great experience however the menu is very limited. There are only 4 main entrees of which 2 are meat. The only fish dish was a branzino of which they didn't have that the night I dined there. My party are all pescatarians so we had to settle for the chirashi. The dish had an abundance of rice but very little fish for $35. Also, it had an excessive amount of pickled ingredients which overwhelmed the taste of everything else. Disappointing.
If I can give this restaurant 1 million stars I would. Amazing experience from start to finish. Our waiter was probably one of the best and most entertaining waiters I’ve had ever and I’ve dined at many five star restaurants . He was so funny made some great recommendations for dinner , he really made my birthday special. The food was great, I highly recommend the chicken and the rice and there was also a fish entrée that was delish, I forget what it was exactly. Every detail was just amazing, the even gave me a stool for my purse! The food was so good and of course the drinks were outstanding! Highly recommended!!!
Terrific place to celebrate
Ok first I seldom offer 5-star reviews after an initial visit. But believe after spending over a 3hr dinner at Pao by Paul Qui at the Faena hotel with exquisite & unique cuisine, very cool ambience, friendly staff willing to bend over backwards to meet your needs and one helluva server by the name of Chris, a 5-star is well deserved. And let's get it this out of the way this is fine dining at its best, so prepare to pay for it , but it is comparative in price to any other fine dining establishment in the Miami/Miami Beach area. From the friendly smiling hostesses who greet you upon arrival, to the friendly bar tenders to an intimate cool ambience to the incredible servers and ultimately some of the finest food your tastebuds will have the pleasure of coming into contact with, we were all extremely impressed and pleased. One note, it can get a tad loud depending when you go, but they do turn the music down to help minimize. Asian Fusion at its finest. And for the vegans in your party, not to worry, again they will bend over backwards to customize any dish to your vegan heart's delight. From a range of international styles including, Filipino, Spanish, Japanese & French, your palette will never be the same!
The menu is divided into small plates and large plates which are meant to be shared. Our choices consisted of the Ceviche, Fried Chicken with this blow your tastebuds up "banana ketchup (so so yummy!)," Roasted Fish (Fish of the day, Brazino), and Smoked Shortrib Asado (melt in your mouth, so tender you can cut with just a fork), Japanese Sweet Potato Puree that could almost be a dessert alone, haha and 2 customized Vegan dishes. And we were celebrating a birthday so they made a special vegan dessert at the end which even for us non-vegans was really good. All and all, just really an incredible dining experience.
And last but not least can't say enough about our server, Chris, just the very best!
Javaris is the man! wonderful experience as usual.
Simply outstanding ! One of the best overall dining experiencias in all of Miami. Will be back !
Lovely service and great gourmet food in a nice athmosphere.
We had Miami spice menu and it was all super good.
Wine selection is great as well.
Nearly everything about this meal was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is very attentive. I loved the sesame old fashioned and enjoyed my pours of bakers. We dined Miami spice. The fried chicken and salmon crudo were excellent. My roasted fish nam tok was perfect. I liked the pork sisig rice. The chi tea rock was good but the honeycomb pana cotta was awesome. Overall, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in Miami!
The food was not good enough as before...
Miami Spice Dinner. Group of 4. Two nice little touches: an amuse bouche of coconut and corn gazpacho and after dinner cookies. Other high-end restaurants should take note of how they do Miami Spice. Portions weren’t large, but good. I said OhOh! Another Miami Spice micro meal when my fried chicken app arrived. A squirt of banana ketchup and some greens? Was the chicken to follow? No – they were hidden under the greens. Super tasty and five bites. The cobia tiraditio was also a standout. Portion size was fine especially in context of the bronzini entree which was a hearty portion. This was definitely the star of the 3 choices available. We got both of the desserts and you can’t go wrong with either. One has a chocolate ice-cream bob-bon. Definitely save that for your last bite. Cocktails were expensive at $20-$25 each but the Unicorn mule was fun. Validated valet parking $25. Nosie level made it hard to have a conversation as the night progressed.
This place is absolutely the best. Imaginative dishes and flavors along with fantastic service, inside a beautiful hotel. It is one of my favorites places in Miami Beach. I highly recommend it.
