Panzano Ratings and Reviews
The service was excellent. The server was attentitive, knowledgeable, knew her wine and the menu well. The food is prepared fresh but the menu choices is limited. It is hard to be critical but would prefer a more traditional veal dish and pastas that are less creamy. It is pricey so just be aware.
My boyfriend and I are from Jersey and we are very picky when it comes to Italian food. Especially since we have moved to CO we have had a hard time finding truly delicious Italian cuisine. Panzanos is AMAZING! We loved every minute of our meal. Their bread is made in house from organic ingredients. The bruschetta was to die for ( best I have ever had). I got the bucatini for dinner and every bite was delicious. They make their pasta in house from scratch and you can tell! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and Panzanos was the best place for it. I also unfortunetly cannot remember our waiters name. But he was from New York. He was amazing and helped us have a very enjoyable dinner. I would highly reccomend this place!
Great awards and reviews, mostly 2 years back but still applicable. Service was truly outstanding in pacing, availability and professional friendliness. Small nit-pick with busters though: while I was still having my soup appetizer (great), my companion was done with hers and they took the dish away. Used to be that tables were cleared at the same time especially if the same item was still being consumed mere inches away. That, unfortunately, is not unique to Panzano but they want to play with the top in town - and charge like it with small portions - then my expectations are different than a lower price-point place. Wonderful homemade breads and each dish was great albeit portions on the small side, especially for the cost. Still, the good far outweighs the minor negative points.
We were celebrating my wife’s 40th birthday and went to Panzano for dessert. Very disappointed. Had the feeling that they just wanted to hurry us through our dessert and get us out the door. My wife opened her presents at the restaurant and not one member of the staff acknowledge that it was her birthday (even though one of her gifts actually read Happy 40th birthday). Fortunately we had a wonderful dinner at Avelina so that made up for the disappointment at Panzano.
Never failing to satisfy, I choose Panzano frequently when I am hosting a business lunch or just as a place to enjoy good food. I know I can count on good service, a consistently delicious menu and a good environment. Count on my business for years to come!
We had appetizers and drinks in the bar area to watch Parade of Lights which was perfect! Later we had dinner in Panzanno's, it's been a few years since we've been here. Everything was excellent! From the service, smiles, sense of humor, food-the waitstaff was superb and made our experience all the better!
Panzano is still a nice place for breakfast or dinner, but the menu seems to have been greatly abbreviated. I especially miss the ricotta pancakes for breakfast and the happy hour menu is a shadow of what it used to be. Bring back the breadth and I'll be back as a regular.
We were greeted politely, the appetizers we saw going by looked tempting. The menu is filled with interesting options. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. But, our waiter veered between inattentive and much too personal. His service was mediocre. He was not knowledgeable about the wines or menu, poured wine for only some of our party, and did not check after the food was served to see if all was well. When he did appear, he inserted himself in our table conversation several times, not to ask about the food, but to socialize. Having had very professional servers at other area restaurants and diners, we were disappointed. But, the food and wine were great.
Greeted warmly and seated immediately even though 15 minutes early for reservation. Our waiter (nicknamed Papa) was incredibly friendly, prompt, professional and engaging. We were dining before attending a play and he made sure we stayed on time. Unasked, brought a delicious birthday dessert to the table. The meal was wonderfully prepared...one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in the Denver area and I've lived here a long time. Highly recommend Panzano.
Food was really delicious, though somewhat expensive. We may have gone overboard with drinks and dessert. Overall the staff was really friendly and attentive and the ambiance was romantic and cozy. It was truly worth every penny. There are a lot of places to check out downtown but this one was in a great spot for a pre-theater date, with close walking distance to the convention center, etc. Plenty of nearby parking on a Friday night, as its outside the busier part of downtown. Highly recommend!
I was a little nervous about the menu, a little too ‘creative’ for me, I’m not adventurous, but my friend is and I let her choose the restaurant since she was visiting from out of town. Luckily, the special was right up my alley. Filet and Yukon Gold potatoes. There were also mustard greens which I was excited to try, but they were really salty or something and I decided to stick to the steak and potatoes.
The steak was honestly the best I’ve EVER had, ANYWHERE! It had some sort of hard, crispy glaze on it that sealed the juices in and tasted delicious AND there was a giant pat of herbed butter on top that slowly melted down the steak. It was heavenly! And cooked perfectly and was nice and thick. I ate every bit along with the potatoes and was perfectly full. Didn’t need the mustard greens anyway.
The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and were there when we wanted them, not there when we didn’t. The Hotel Monoco looked like a lovely place to stay as well.
Overall, a great choice for my first dinner in downtown Denver in many years.
This place was wonderful for a quiet dinner. The gluten free options are amazing, with great care for my friend. The non-alcoholic drinks were divine. Option for 1/2 order of pasta was great. Our server was attentive and generous. Can't thank her enough for leaving us alone but being there exactly when needed. All the staff was great - super team. We'll be back to sit at the chef's table next time. Definitely a go-to place in Denver. Only thing that would improve is to import some of the awesome non-alcoholic wines available in Europe.
We are HUGE Panzano fans, often referring many friends and visitors new to Denver to dine here. But on Nov 11th they fell short. There was an issue with the staff as we ordered a dish for a 2nd time. We asked if meat was in the dish when remade and the answer was a emphatic "no meat". However there was meat and a 3rd different dish was made. This one was a simple spinach omelet but there was so much oil on it that it could not be finished. Def felt like they were either off their game or a new kitchen staff was on that day. We will go back but the review today did not deserve a full set of outstanding or very good ratings.
I was expecting amazing given all of the good reviews. Very disappointing. Ordered the chiopino. Hardly any seafood, very small portions. Waiter was very good, seated in the way back, very bright. Poor value for the money. There are many better places in town.
You know there's a problem when a mushroom omelet arrives and I have to use a knife to cut it!! Four of us there for brunch -- in addition to the severely overcooked omelet, my husband's dish, a strata, arrived as a soupy mess. Restaurants need to learn that they CANNOT put dishes under the heat lamps for long periods of time, which is my guess as to how we ended up with such terrible meals. Not sure Panzano gets my business for brunch again...
The service was incredible! I wasn't thrilled with my meal, but I am not one to complain. When I didn't gush over it, the server was like.. "say no more! I want you to be in love with your meal" and brought me something different. Espresso martini was divine, the Tiramasu was good, and the bolognese was fantastic. It was a great atmosphere for me, my hubby, and a friend to just talk and enjoy. Also, they didn't try to upsell us like some other fancy restaurants, which is nice since it's already like $30 a plate.
Went here on a date and everything about this place is excellent!
Service was friendly. The waiter asked if we had to be out by a certain time for anything like a movie/play/etc.
Food was delicious! The absolute best bruschetta I’ve ever had. My first time having lamb in a ravioli, but it was good. All the pasta is made fresh daily. Really good tiramisu, too!
Price might be a tad expensive depending on what you’re used to, but you definitely get what you pay for.
By far the most disappointing meal we had on our one week trip (also happened to be the most expensive). Food was mediocre at best as was the wine list. Not even the bread was good. Food came out extremely fast and was luke warm (suggesting it was prepared long in advance). Got the impression they just wanted to change the table over as fast as possible. Not a place I would ever go back to.
