Panzanella Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We were kept waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time, with absolutely no concern or apology for the delay. We stood there and waited and waited. No place to sit, no place to get a drink, no complimentary drink offered (though our complaints to the waitress led to waiving corkage fee). True, we were a party of eight, but the previous time, a party of four, we were kept waiting thirty minutes, again with no concern at all.
Never coming back.
Great restaurant and food, HOWEVER, the menu on OpenTable was extremely out of date. Many offerings were not on the menu in the restaurant at all. WORSE than that is nearly everything that is on the menu in the restaurant is SIGNIFICANTLY more expense than in the online menu. For example, the minestrone soup was listed online as 6.95. Restaurant charged 9.95. Same for all the entrees, about $3 or more each. Pasta wasn't 16.95, it was 19.95. Really surprising that there was such a difference. Really changes the affordability of the restaurant when you bring your family.
Had reservations and still waited 45 min to be seated. No explanations, no apologies. Once we ordered waited again 45 min for the food. Again, no explanations, no apologies. Manager never came to talk to us. We were never offered a drink or deserts on the house. Noise level was unbearable. Food was good, but service so bad we never going back
We have eaten at Panzanella a number of times and found it as good as ever with an ever-changing menu to suite all types of diners. The Italian dishes were delicious, as were the more inventive dishes that blended all types of food ingredients. The only problem is that both the large dining room and the room as you enter are quite loud (sound seems to bounce back from every part of the restaurant which makes conversation a bit difficult, even when you're sitting at a table for four.
The food was great and the presentation was perfect on everything. The bottle of wine we ordered was out so they replaced it with a different bottle - it was only okay for the high price. Overall, the service was great and the food was too. We went here for DineLA which was a great deal, otherwise it is pretty expensive so I would recommend it more for a special occassion.
We have come to really love this place - have been back several times over last couple months. Excellent Food - fish, pasta, meat, soups, salads, Bread and Desserts ! Yummy ! Love our server Martina too. She's from Italy and knows how good Italian food should taste and look, and she's very friendly. Reservations are a must ! Can't wait to go back for more.
Food choices and menu were good, however service was poor, little chance to discuss menu and specials with waiter. The two people who were with me had excellent menu choices, mine however (chicken Marsala) was only fair, dry chicken, not correctly sliced. Wine choices were well balanced. A bit noisy. Spumoni was offered for desert but it was not real Italian Spumoni. Felt deceived
When making the reservation, I had indicated that it was for a special occasion- an Anniversary . This occasion was not acknowledged or recognized by maitre de or server. ☹️ The table arranging seems to be getting closer and closer- feels more crowded than in the past .
This was our second time dining at Panzanella and it was wonderful again. We ordered the beet salad, mushroom ravioli in truffle cheese sauce (love it), chicken, and pasta bolognese. All were delicious. Pricing is reasonable and there are many entrees under $20. Service was outstanding. Our server was very familiar with the menu, he gave good guidance when asked and water glasses were never allowed to go below half full. We never felt rushed and enjoyed the opportunity to relax and visit with our friends.
What a discovery! Food, service, ambiance, everything are top notch here. We started with mussels and clams in an extraordinary red sauce that tasted like it had been cooking for days, and a Caesar salad that was perfectly seasoned, with a creamy dressing and topped w delicious Parmesan. My Ossobucco was divine and my husbands New York steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We will absolutely be returning to this neighborhood gem.
