Highly recommended and met expectations. Food well prepared and served promptly. Everything was very good but not at the level to satisfy the fact that it took over 45 minutes in heavy traffic to get there. The restaurant was full to the brim during most of our meal and the sound level was high. Cocktails were quite generous, service good.
Related to Celestino in Pasadena. But, that's where the relationship ends !!! Food average at best, service so-so, very, very noisey. Special occassion, I showed them my referrel card from Celestino.....No acknowledgement. Mngr made rounds of A tables, not even a nod to us. Parking is a big problem. Two plates of pasta two glasses of wine ... tab over $150.00
I love Panzanella. I've been coming here for years and this was the first time it was a total miss. For me anyway, my friend enjoyed her branzino. I ordered the bresaola, (the description includes artichokes). I've had this several times in the past and has always been spot on. This time, no artichokes and the entire thing was a salt lick. It was inedible. Same for the Involtini de Melanzane, which is my favorite dish on the menu. It was overcooked and ridiculously salty. I know it was a Monday night, and I am sure the winter floods affected the artichoke crop, but please, can someone watch the store more closely there? I do not want this otherwise fantastic restaurant - and IMO, the best Italian in the Valley - to fall down the slippery slope of mediocrity.
I was in LA for a business meeting and found Panzanella through an online review. The waitstaff was cordial and attentive; the wine list was exhaustive and diverse and my meal (eggplant parmesan) was amazing. I would definitely recommend Panzanella to others.
Recently moved into the neighborhood and was eager to try Panzanella, particularly as it is owned by Giacomino Drago, one of the Drago brothers who also owns several other great Italian restaurants, including Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills. Very nice atmosphere, good, friendly service. The food was very good. The linguine alle vongole clams was excellent. My rib veal chop was good, but I've had more flavorful preparations at other restaurants. My dinner companion had scallopine a piacere and thought it was excellent. I don't recall which chocolate dessert I ordered; I think it was the tartufo special. Whichever one it was, it was incredible. I'll be back very soon. And to think I can walk there!
I surprised my wife with dinner here for her birthday. We have recently moved to Sherman Oaks and so this was our first time here. We started off with the Calamari and it was superb. My wife had a glass of Sauvingon Blanc from New Zealand and was thoroughly impressed. I enjoyed a recommended Pinot Noir. The entrees were absolutely stunning my wife ordered one of the hand-made pasta dishes and she cleaned her plate! I ordered the veal, and licked mine hahaha. The desserts were exquisite and the chef placed a candle, and wrote Happy Birthday on the dessert plate for my wife. Overall the experience was one to remember, we enjoyed this meal with two wonderful friends, and they too were blown away by the entire experience. We are certainly making Panzanella Ristorante our go to special occasion restaurant. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful.
We have eaten at Panzanella many times in the past. It is our go to restaurant for special occasions and a nice evening out. The food is always delicious and the service is always terrific. We try to eat something new every time we eat at Panzanella, although, we do have some favorites that we enjoy every now and then.
The best Italian in Los Angeles aside from its affiliated BH location Il Pastaio! Pastas are fresh authentic and home made! Entrees are regional and incorporate the best ingredients. The absolute must for dessert is the PANNA COTTA. The best made outside of Italy! AMAZING! Our fav Sherman Oaks restaurant. Never disappoints in food or service!
We went to Panzella recently to celebrate our anniversary. My wife is a vegetarian/vegan and she loves Italian cuisine because she can always find something to eat. Well she found wonderful options. I on the other hand am a carnivore and ordered the osso bucco. It was delicious, in fact our entire meal was delicious. The cocktails were great and they brought a lovely dessert. The wait staff was incredible. Very attentive and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this place. Best Italian restaurant in the valley and one of the best in L.A.
I have been to Panzanella Ristorante many times and have always found the service to be excellent ant the food to be very good. The most recent visit, however, I was quite disappointed in the Branzino. The taste was a bit odd perhaps because of the sauce. The prosciutto app was excellent.
We are always excited to go to this restaurant get hopefully we get the best waiter , Kelley. He is the best asset they have. He is always polite and can solve almost any problem. They should make him the acting manager when the regular one is not there. Foe example, the couple next to us got the wrong dish and he quickly made sure she had the correct one as well as a free glass of wine. That is why he is their best asset. He never upsets the customer.
