Panorama Ratings and Reviews
The people were lovely. The food was lovely and tasty.
We were there at 1:30 on a Saturday and the guys were a little disappointed it was a brunch menu and less choice for a heartier lunch but we all enjoyed our food very much.
Our one real complaint is the noise level. Wow!
I love the atmosphere at Panorama. It is modern, bright and gorgeous. The service was fantastic (it always is) and the food was excellent. I love their soups lately! One week asparagus and the next sweet potato ginger. SO GOOD! One of my fav spots to take a group of friends, colleague or family. Perfect for any occasion, day or night. And...you can browse the museum to walk off a few calories!
The view and ambiance were delightful. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. Scrambled eggs were clearly made ahead of time, and were overcooked and hard. Toast was also done ahead and was hard.
Would come back for the view, but would try to order something that hadn't been precooked.
Lovely atmosphere, delicious and wide variety of menu items. Only recommendation would be sound absorption in the private dining area. The loud noise filtered in to main dining room and hearing conversation at our table was challenging at times. Gem of a restaurant. Looking forward to my return!
We went for breakfast. Everything was very good. The shrimp and grits were great! The large floor to ceiling windows provide a beautiful view looking outside. The whole front of the restaurant is a glass wall looking over Fine Arts Drive. The restaurant has plenty of room between tables for privacy. The service was top notch. Our server and his assistant were very attentive. The experience was very enjoyable and afterwards, we took the opportunity to explore the art museum.
My mother and I went to Panorama for my 55 birthday lunch and it was wonderful. We sat in the requested window seat, had a free full size dessert and even got a birthday card with a funny "Monet" pun all for my birthday! I felt so special yesterday! This is a new tradition for both my birthday and my mother's birthday! Parking was so easy and a birthday shopping trip to the amazing gift shop finished the visit with new jewelry!
To be perfectly honest, I would not return to Panorama, nor recommend it to anyone else. While the space is beautiful, the service is friendly and attentive, the food was just not good. As in, inedible. Without new kitchen direction, I cannot say I would ever return.
This was my 2nd visit in about a month and I returned because I had been so impressed the first time that I couldn't wait to set up a lunch w/ my Mom and Sis. Whereas the first time EVERYTHING was perfect, this time I was disappointed w/ the food. I was shocked that the BLT now had Duck (which I don't like) and asked if they could make it the Chicken way. The menu had only changed 2 days ago. Our waiter - is it Merrick or some name similar - said they didn't have the same thinly sliced Chicken but could employ the Chicken from one of the Salads. But it wasn't as good at all. And the addition of Chibatta (sp?) roll was hard to eat, way too much Bread, tough to chew. And the red colored 'spread' was not good at all. I don't like things that I can't discern what they are. BTW, this waiter (2nd time) was PERFECT. Love him. One of the best waiters in St.L. We will return and be more selective in our choices. Pls give Kudos to this waiter. Sis was on the fence between 2 wines and when he brought her selection, he told her if she didn't like it, he'd bring her the other one. She said it was good tho. He overheard Mom say she wasn't fond of the Cauliflower side and asked if he could bring her something else. A perfect waiter 2 visits in a row.
Always a great place to eat creative cuisine by Ivy Magruder. He has made this place a destination restaurant. The fact that it is located in the historic Saint Louis Art Museum is icing on the cake! Our server was Kelvin, and he was wonderful! We try to go here at least once a month!!
