Panorama Restaurant & Sky Lounge at Sonesta Bayfront Hotel Coconut Grove Ratings and Reviews
The outdoor seating is really spectacular with a great view of the Biscayne Bay. Food at one time was Peruvian but it is now turned more American Mediterranean/Peruvian/Latin fusion. They still had some wonderful ceviches on the menu for the Peruvian lovers. We did Miami Spice and the portions were huge! The starters even the octopus and salad were almost whole meals in themselves, so the Miami Spice menu really was a fantastic value. The food was excellent, very nice piece of beef filet, and super tasty pasta with shrimp/chorizo/cream sauce! I am actually not even a dessert person, but the desserts were awesome. Fried arroz con leche w/vanilla ice cream – delicious and innovative! The trio of creme brûlées were also nicely presented and also delicious! Great friendly service!
The service and the food at Panorama was great. The drinks were very good and the view was nice. The brunch menu was limited. From what I saw all there was for breakfast was continental, American platter, omelettes and eggs Benedict. I was hoping for more variety. I would go again.
First and foremost, there is no longer any free valet parking. HOpefully you will remove this from your website. Next, there is a 19% service charge to your total bill so do not just add in your regular tip or you will be tipping way over. The food was wonderful, the view was great and Alma, our server did a great job.
Was very disappoint when I reach to the restaurant. Nothing like in the pictures. First you could not find the restaurant no signs directly you to the restaurant. And the guest are walking in and out with there wet suits. Very small inside as well. The food was ok small portions as well but had better. Not somewhere I would go back too or recommend. If you went outside by the pool area then you would then see the beautiful view of the ocean that was the best part of my lunch experience.
Our family did a Miami Spice lunch to celebrate a birthday. The view was beautiful, food was good, the salmon was great. Service good
a bit slow but we were enjoying our time together as well as the view. They could do better with the bread though, maybe serve it warm. But overall we were all satisfied it felt like the restaurant was all for us. We were a party of 13. We will be back maybe to try the breakfast.
We went for the Miami Spice menu. We live close by and were told that the view was great. We took out of town friends to impress them. The view did but not the food. The first course was ok not great . The main course chosen by 3 out of 4 of us was a grouper dish that had to be sent back because it didn't taste good.We were offered another choice which did taste good. The desserts were fine. I had the key lime. We noticed that other tables had bread but we hadn't been offered any. Maybe the tip being included in the bill affects the service. Go for the gorgeous view and sit outside weather permitting.
I would have never thought that this restaurant could be as good as it was. The food was delicious, the view fantastic. The only drawback: it can be the common path to the pool for hotel guests so you have to put up with people passing through. Suggest you sit outside facing east or at / near the bar.
We took advantage of the I love Miami Spice special to check this restaurant out but I would come back at its regular price menu any day. The service was on point. Polite and friendly but did not interrupt needlessly. The food was amazing! My sister and I ordered completely different meals so we could take each others selection and it was all delicious. It was a Thursday around 9pm so it was not crowed. I would say this is a great go to place.
First Miami Spice locale of 2016! Great rooftop like setting with a great view of Coconut Grove Marina and Biscayne Bay. A little weird with people in the pool but at the same time hotel guests have to swim somewhere I guess. Despite that the menu was great, the short rib appetizer was amazing as were the lamb chops. Desert has to the key lime pie in a glass. Only bummer was a very limited wine by-the-glass selection and the bar is not very big. All in all, I would recommend a visit.
The attention and customer service provided by the Panorama staff make up for the small restaurant space and size available. It is located next to the pool and few seats and tables are available if you want to enjoy the view from the outside. If you want peace and quiet, you are forced to eat inside as patrons are using the pool and sauna nearby. The staff is attentive and the portions and display of the food are large so don't let the fact that you're at a hotel fool you. If we knew the size of the appetizers in advance, we may have passed on the entree; you get the proverbial "bang for your buck" in portions and is definitely an ideal place for business casual or casual dining as the location of the restaurant is on the eighth floor overlooking the bay at Coconut Grove.
Fantastic view, unfortunately the only fantastic was the view. Service ok. Food ... For Sonesta Hotel they can do much better. Not flavor and not quality. They said that they have complementary valet parking but at the end they charge because they said I only have a discount.
You can't beat the view. Food was average nothing special at all. Presentation is good but taste didn't match. Service was decent at the table. Drinks were good food took a while and I was the only table occupied. But Gain you cannot beat the view really awesome. Good spot for happy hour maybe.
Food was OK/ acceptable but not great. The general outdoor atmosphere and view were great. It would be a good place for a nice romantic dinner as long as you are not expecting great food and wine. Be advised that 19% tip is automatically added to your bill which is not unusual for Miami Hotels so check your original first invoice as it doesn't shot up on the total bill that comes back from the credit card slip. Generally it was a nice experience.
