Pane & Vino La Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
We sat outside on a lovely Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal. The service was very good and the food was even better. Good quality, good presentation - this was a really good value. Pastas are all house-made (gentleman in the window making them as we ate) and the ending - a tiramisu that is made in front of you - was outstanding. This is my new favorite restaurant in SoBe!
It's hard to find an Italian restaurant in America proposing the real Italian cuisine . Often in most restaurants are passed as Italian dishes that are not: for example the " piccata " which in Italy does not exist!
Here the real bruschetta and delicious homemade pasta!
The food was incredible. I love homemade pasta and they deliver. We sat outside because it was freezing inside, even though it was a bit loud on the street. We each had different dishes and shared bites, everything was amazing and perfectly portioned. We finished with table-side tiramisu and limoncello. Next time in Miami I will definitely return.
Pane & Vino was a fantastic find in Miami! As a lover of Italian cuisine I was very excited to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We started with a delicious bruschetta , followed by an incredible Bolognese pasta dish. The portions were plentiful and allowed us all to share. If you are a fan of Caesar Salad make sure to order it here as it has a nice twist with bacon. All of the pasta is made in house, we even watched the chef make fresh tortellini in the glass front restaurant window. The restaurant is small so make sure you have a reservation. I look forward to returning! Cheers.
We went to this restaurant by a personal recommendation. We loved the small restaurant and ambiance. The food was great! We had the pasta of the day which was a black ink fetuccini with octopus and my husband had the fruit de mare pasta. Both were delicious.
The overall service was good only because we had to request our check. They do
not hurry to get you in and out but they had a line waiting and we felt bad that we were finished with our food and the check was not brought to us. This is a good thing and a bad thing!
Overall great experience.
The food was outstanding! We enjoyed the quaint Italian restaurant centrally located in South Beach. The food was fresh and priced right. My only and biggest complaint was that the lighting was very poor, hard to ready menu and even harder to see my meal. The large light fixture in the center of the room kept flickering, one min it lit the place and the next it was so dark I could hardly find my fork.
Everything is prepared as in a traditional italian restaurant, the pasta is great and the restaurant is really cool. I am in vacations from São Paulo Brazil, and we have many options there since the city is colonized in a huge part by italians, and this restaurant is a lot like the italians we have there! Really good indeed.
It is a small romantic restaurant with a few outdoor tables. The manager, Luigi, and the waiters were very nice and friendly. We were told the pasta was home made. It was very good but the sauce was just a bit salty. The tiramisu was freshly made right at your table. Quiet, great ambience. Enjoyed it very much.
We loved Pane & Vino . . . so much we returned for a second visit during our 4 day trip to Miami. The service was fantastic and the fresh pasta was outstanding. Our second visit did not disappoint. The staff was great - excellent service! We also enjoyed watching the fresh pasta prepared in the dining room. A gem!
How nice to find a place that really does make their pasta fresh. There is nothing better then the taste of fresh cooked homemade pasta. In is great to see in the over saturated over priced South Beach food scene that the owner of Pane E Vino had the vision to open up a place where you can go and get some real food. I am not Italian but from the sounds of the Italian patrons that were seated near me it is as good as Mama makes! The decor is simple but very modern and makes for a real comfortable setting. They don't push you through your meal. They want you to relax and enjoy the food. Still relatively new the first time I ate there so still working out some of the service kinks but I have no doubt in time they will be running very smoothly. We went 3 times in our 7 day visit so I think that says it all.
I am in the Foodservice business, so am particular when dining out. This was such a refreshing experience....the Italian owners and staff were meticulous in their work, covering every detail of getting the restaurant ready for a Friday evening. The food was authentic, delicious and so reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant as the best in SOBE.
i have been here four times
first time excellent and actually went back the next night and same experience
3rd time was poor service and food was over salty to the point did not finish
as first two times was great went back a forth time which was even worse than the third
a new restaurant that has went down hill fast
i wont be back
My third time here and the food continues to please. First time trying a pasta main course and it was great. Can't say he name but the waiter told us the name of the pasta meant something like a hanged priest - hanged or hung? Oh well. Flat wide pata strips cinched at one end in a truffle and mushroom sauce - they were absolutely great. Everyone in my party loved their meals which included a sea bass, Caesar salad, eggplant park and for dessert orange tart and a deconstructed tiramisu assembled at the table. Service was great too!
My wife and I found this place by complete coincidence...and we are soooo glad we did. Step through their doors and be transported to Italy. Food is spectacular. Service is exceptional but not stuffy. And like in Italy, they don't rush you off your table. Enjoy the night, the food and you'll remember this review when you go.
Though this place is right by restaurant row of Espanola Way, this is more of a local joint than the tourist traps. First, there is a gentleman expertly making fresh pasta right in the window! He's not just making for later- he's making for what you will soon be eating! Everything was fresh and delicious. Not a huge wine list but when you get a great bottle of Sangiovese for $25, a big list is not needed.
Service was very friendly and attentive.
If you're looking for fresh, authentic Italian in South Beach, come here.
Perfect little Italian restaurant located around the corner from Espanola Way. Fresh pasta being made in the front window as you dine. Pasta is the thing to order here. Very reasonably priced menu. Gets very crowded as there are only 10 tables inside, and 3 on the street. Definitely make a reservation to hold one of the precious few tables!
Our server, Stefano, who himself was Sicilian (as is the cuisine) was pleasant, knowledgeable and just the right kind of chatty - informative and friendly but not annoying. He checked in regularly but not too often and his recommendations were on the spot.
My colleague and I each had a starter. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh but it was the buratta that was truly amazing. Fresh and light, this is why you order buratta in the first place. Both came in nice bowls and were decent portions.
The pasta course was the restaurant's signature dish - called Fiocchetti Pere E Parmigiano. This is handmade pasta filled with pear and parmesan cheese served with caramelized leek sauce and black sesame. It was delicious and pear flavor was a clear winner. The sauce was rich and the flavor of the caramelized leek perfectly complemented the pear flavor. The portion was ample for two to share. We delighted over this dish.
Our main course was the Cosciotto di Agnello - a lamb shank cooked in red wine sauce, served with mashed potatoes and fried leek. The lamb was fall off the bone soft and the red wine sauce was a great compliment to the meat. Mashed potatoes were fine but not the focus of the dish at all.
As if this was not in and of itself a fine meal (and it was!), we had dessert and that just put it over the top. My colleague had the Tortino al cioccolato caldo, which is hot chocolate cake, ice cream and berries. The cake was soooo good and truly rich. This wa sonly topped by my Tiramisu - which was made in front of my eyes. A dish with lady fingers then had expresso slowly poured over them and the coffee was allowed to soak in. Fresh mascarpone cream was then ladled over this and shaved chocolate completed the construction of what proved to be so good that, despite both of our being quite full, we completed just because we couldn't stop eating it.
Watching pasta being made in the window was just an added treat.
Eat here and order a lot!
This is a small restaurant where the pasta is made fresh right in front of your eyes. I had the Fiochetti pere de parmiganno, Handmade pasta filled with pear and parmigano with carmalized leek sauce and black sesame. The pasta was so light and delicious and I savored every bite of it. My husband had the lobster ravioli which was equally as good. We will definitely come back here again before the end of our vacation.
The venue looks great, but once inside the food is mediocre. The menu is riddled with mis-spellings. For example, one seafood dish claims to be "lightly buttered" but when served it was really "lightly battered". When bought to the attention of the server he said, " sorry, we have quite a few spelling errors on the menu".
Pasta was fresh but again nothing special. The bolognese sauce was just okay. The seafood, while fried, was fresh but nothing to rave about for $25.
Food was ok, but the service was terrible. My wife and I made reservations, but didn't even get our order taken until after 2 other couples that sat down 5 minutes after us had theirs taken. They were also finished their main course before we finished our appetizers, which took 35 minutes to get.
The bruschetta was way too salty. It was covered in oil, and TOO much oil. The Caesar salad was extremely rich, so much that we couldn't even finish a quarter of the salad.
We had big expectations because it looked so authentic since they were making the pasta in the window. This was a huge let down! The service was so bad we left before we got our main course...after waiting 90 minutes they still hadn't made our main course!!
Simply amazing! Authentic Italian food at the highest quality and freshest ingredients. You watch the chef hand make the pasta in the resultant as you eat. If you pass by the restaurant, he's in the window hand making the pasta you're going to eat! The food is incredible, I had the pappardelle with lamb and artichoke...outstanding! My wife had the lasagna which was to die for. We will most definitely be coming back.
We had the most amazing meal here. An intimate Italian restaurant featuring homemade pasta - literally in front of your eyes! Excellent value, delicious food, home made focaccia and authentic Cesar salad. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Be sure to go early or make a reservation as it fills up quickly and there are only a few tables.
We had high hopes because the appetizers were pretty good, but we were generally disappointed with the entrees. The pasta entree I ordered was not described in the menu as being in a cream sauce, but when it arrived it was swimming in cream...and not very good. Service was fairly inattentive. It's not worth the drive into South Beach and the cost of parking to dine here. Sorry but we won't be returning.
