Pandora's Grayton Beach - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
They try very hard on the service so kudos for that. Unfortunately the restaurant needs much in the way of ambiance, including a musty smell. I've been coming to this area for over 15 years and always thought this was a beer and burger bar, surprised that the reviews were excellant and it's hard to get a table during july for 7 without a long wait. Food was ok, the lobster was a bit overcooked and the fried green tomatoes could have done without the ketchup drizzle. Salad mediocre. This place seems to specialize in steaks but we opted out since we were in the mood for seafood. Crab legs one person liked, ribs not so good, the grouper was not a hit but the shrimp scampi was. Basically it seems hit or miss with an old musty odor.
I understand the limited menu on festival weekend, but then they were out of most of those items. Our server was absolutely the worst. I own a home in Watercolor and have eaten here often, but this was my last visit for sure. I asked the people at table next to us to watch profanity and mentioned it to our waiter. It fell upon deaf ears.
My meat was underdone and the staff was accommodating to further cook it. The green tomato appetizer was outstanding and the service was excellent. The noise was tolerable and the seating was about 1/3 to 1/2 full at 6. The second experience was not as good as the first, but still good to very good.
Decided we wanted Seafood and Steak (sorry Mitchell's!) so we decided to try Pandora's in Grayton beach after reviewing the online reviews. Most notable for its nightlife we hit it right at opening so we could have a quiet romantic dinner and then have time to hit the sand for the sunset (since it was our anniversary). The restaurant is beach-funky in style which suits Grayton perfectly.. the menu was good with a nice selection of items at decent price points. Our server was the standout of the evening. Rebbecca was a pro, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Even if the food had been bad she would have been a reason to give it another try.. bu the food was good! Seafood Gumbo for starters, Dominico cut rib steak ordered medium, it came medium rare which was fine with us, basic solid house salad with a nice balsamic dressing and a classic baked potato with the works all contributed to a very nice meal. We had to try the Fried Strawberries dessert.. YES! Super good there's really now way to describe it.. crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside served with ice cream, whipped cream and stripped nicely with chocolate and strawberry sauce... +++
The grouper, prime rib and bread pudding were fantastic. The key lime pie was good, along with a good drink selection. The margarita advertised patron tequila, but it tasted more like Cuervo. Overall, an excellent Grayton dining experience, large portions, will eat there again!
We did not eat out a lot on this vacation, due to long lines, cash only, no a/c once inside. Then on the last day of our vacation we found Pandora's. It was the best dining experience of the whole trip.
My husband is very hard of hearing and could hear everyone talking, the waiter was cordial, knowledgeable and courteous, the food was fabulous. All in all, I would recommend it to everyone that I know is going to Florida.
The extra cut prime rib was memorable as being the toughest and worst tasting prime rib I have ever been served; and I have been served a lot. It was laced with gristle and very little of the 18 oz. cut was editable. If not for the Filet Mignon steaks others ordered which were excellent, and for the gumbo soup which was excellent, I would have sent it back. Service was spotty with our waitress serving multiple large tables. Never again at Pandora's. There are too many excellent restaurants in the area.
We wanted a steak and the locals sent us here. I remember Pandora's from "the old days" when it was a bar and animals wandered around freely. It's beautiful now, and the food was fantastic. Tristan was our server and was attentive and friendly. Knew the menu very well. We enjoyed everything we had, including martinis and the burgundy mushrooms. It was the perfect spot for a good meal, cool atmosphere and spot-on service.
Food is great, as is the service. Not busy so it's easy to get a table. Prices are good too. The decor is '70's Hawaii with bamboo all around. Very outdated. I highly recommend it if food, service and price are your focus. Don't bring someone here to impress them with ambiance.
We had a party of 6 consisting of my brother, his wife (from out of town), 2 neighbors, and me and my spouse. We were there around 6 p.m. on 5/9/15, so very few people in the dining room at that time. Our waiter was very inattentive, more intrested in standing around outside smoking than helping us out. Except for one person, we all ordered steak. The steaks were all over the place in size and thickness, for the same type order. My brother and I both ordered the same size ribeye. His was about 3/4" thick, and mine about 1-1/2". The varioius steaks were either overcooked, or undercooked. Potatoes and veggies were cold, etc. This was a "thank you" dinner for our neighbors who helped us take care of our 91-year-old mother when she fell while we were out of town. The whole dinner was nearly $500. Since we were a party of 6, the waiter tried to put on a $70 tip. We always look at our checks, and corrected that number to what we thought the service and food were worth.
This dinner is in contrast to a great one we had a month or so ago. Great service, all the food done properly, etc. And, it was a weekend night, so the dining room was very busy.
We were vacationing with friends and asked some locals where they like to eat. Pandora's came highly recommended! The food was delicious. Fried green tomato appetizer was so good! Steaks were cooked to perfection! Local beer was delish! We will defintely dine there again when in the Panama City area.
Server was great. We ordered the prime rib and it had a very strange texture to it that made it difficult to eat. Other servers were very loud and at times making inappropriate comments about regular customers. They had a good wine list and pour was very generous . We may go back during summer to sit outside and have drinks and appitizers.
