great food and wine. malbec and cab blend well balanced and delicious
Every time we are visiting the area we go to Pamplemousse Grille we love the food and the staff the service is great.
Fantastic service and food! I left a gift certificate at home by accident , and the manager (Steve) accepted a picture sent via iPhone! Very very classy. It was my Mom’s birthday and she loved her lobster ravioli and was very impressed by the friendly staff. Delicious bison steak, and abalone appetizer. Yum.
Everything was wonderful! John, our server was the best!
Amazing truffle tasting menu!
Food, outstanding. Server Alexis, excellent. Some of the best venison that I have ever enjoyed.
Consistent great food and service.
The bartender is knowledgeable and able to introduce me to spirits I’m not familiar.
Wait staff always able to modify dishes to accommodate allergies and tastes.
Awesome as always!
Excellent flavors, service and presentation. Comfortable and reliable.
Flat out fabulous food.. The trio of meats was an amazing sampling and the blackened sea bass was divine. Wonderful dining experience.
It’s always special at Pamplemousse, the food is second to none and we adore all the staff there. Bree and Ilius at the bar and Jerry in the restaurant! Manager Steve always makes you feel welcome and Chef never misses greeting his guests during your meal.
We looked forward on celebrating our anniversary at Pamplemousse but somehow our reservation for 2 became one for four which started an evening of disappointment and aggravation. We were seated after a twenty five minute wait and never felt like the staff wanted us there. Food quality is still ok although my wife’s special dish included truffled mashed potatoes which were served cold. Noise level was bad where we were seated, it wasn’t the special night we were seeking.
Everything was great. From service to the food. Great for special occasions. The sampler appetizers awesome. And lobster grilled cheese.
Dinner was excellent but noticed upon walking in the air filters needed to be changed. It very much smelled like old grease.
So sad that they add 3.5% extra because of minimum wage increase, they charge enough for the food the they can afford to pay their waiters the extra $1.50 per hour.
We love the booths arrangement. It makes hearing our friends much easier
This is a long time favorite for us. It was a treat when we used to live in the area, and now that we moved a few hours North it is an even bigger treat when we venture down in this direction. Everything was spectacular for our whole party from lobster avocado salad, halibut special, and pear tart... Yum!
Service from Alexa and John were Incredible, I dont think they could have been any better. We went for my mothers birthday and everything was perfect. Mom got The fish trio, which was a thing of beauty as well as delicious. I got the lamb stew, which I've had before and loved it again! You cant go wrong if you are looking for a class place from start to finish. Chef Jeff and his team show their love in every meal! thank you
Great selection of dishes and wine. Priced fairly for the type of restaurant it is. Overall a great experience.
Still one of North Count’s best restaurants. San Diego Jewel for sure
The sushi and pate starters were exceptional. I had the mixed grill of game meats. Also very good. My date had the miso cod. Really an excellent meal.
Our party of six thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Pamplemousse. Everything was first rate; cocktails, food, service. Wine recommendations were excellent. Some of the highlights were the incredible lobster ravioli, Kimchee seafood martini, grilled sea bass, and everything else! Go! You won’t be disappointed.
Yum yum yum. We went for our 5th anniversary and while the location is meh the food is anything but. We started with the lobster grilled cheese and the lobster salad. Both incredible. Then my hubby got the steak with lobster fried rice and I had Dorado. Both beautifully prepared and presented. The steak was a perfect medium rare and the fish was savory and delicious. For hubby he had the sorbet and 8 chocolate dipped caramels (to go) and I had the pear tarte tatin. All made in house and impeccable. Our server was French and perfect and very knowledgeable. The bill was $248 before tip. We drank water and I had one vodka tonic. So definitely spendy but well worth it, we’ll be back.
The food is really good but the prices are too high for what it is. I found it to be a good meal but not a memorable one. The food was too fussy.
We had a great dinner and Leonard is awesome! He made our evening so wonderful!
Best restaurant in San Diego!
In a word Magnifique. I always visit the Pamplemoose when on town and it NEVER disppaoints.
Wonderful varied menu including so many delicious truffle dishes, great service always and the most extensive wine list i've ever seen including some rare gems.
We love this place and have never been disappointed. Went with four friends and shared lots of different dishes spanning the menu. You will not be disappointed. Wine list is huge so don’t hesitate to ask for help.
We will be back.
My husband & I made a reservation for dinner at 6:30 pm. We were seated in a very nice booth and the waitress quickly took our drink order. She came back after our drink to explain the specials so we ordered a beet salad and the special surf and turf dinner. Our salad had some greens that tasted like flowers and little taste. I had to ask for some additional drizzle dressings to give it some flavor.
Our surf and turf arrived and we were absolutely in shock! Our piece of meat was brown, square and overcooked, a we had ordered it medium rare. Our lobster tail was overcooked as well, to the point of being mushy meat. We like our lobster with a nice firm taste. There was no drawn butter served with the lobster, as we're used to have it, but instead we did have a container of delicious burnoose that saved the fact the meat was not a good cut of meat nor was the lobster of good quality. A filet should be thicker than the cut of meat we were served.
Our horror came when we were given the bill! We just paid $120 for the surf and turf entree and to think it was inedible! We should have sent it back as the chef came out from the kitchen and was sitting a few tables away having a nice visit with the guests. If we weren't so hungry and didn't want to wait for another entry, we would have sent it back.
I was truly disappointed with our experience and don't feel we'll go back any time soon.
Wonderful foie gras! Very nice selection of wines - this is the only place I have found that offers the Merry Edwards sav Blanc. Lovely selection on the menu.
Always outstanding. Bree and Ilius at the bar are great, our favorite server Jerry remembers your order from the last visit and how you like it served...pretty awesome! Pamplemousse is our go to restaurant when we want a special night out.
Excellent restaurant. We are never disappointed and often go here for special occasions
Loved the food and our waiter was great!
Some of the best food in San Diego County, and tremendous service
We went to celebrate a few family members’ birthdays. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience. The food was creative and delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was fun to have Chef Jeffrey come out and mingle with the patrons. Will definitely be back!
Not as good as it used to be. Server had a superior attitude. Food was overcooked and underseasoned. Fine martini. Not worth the price
Consistent amazing food
All around great restaurant.
