Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse Edmonton Downtown Ratings and Reviews
This was the first time my husband and I ate at this restaurant and I would not jump to go back. The service was great, however, the food itself was not worth the $300 check.
We were not told about asking for our cooked level (ie we enjoy our meat rare) and were brought meat that was cooked and then recooked to very well done. It had that taste that meat gets when it's cooled down and reheated, not appealing. The 'salad bar' that you are told to go to when you first get there was tasteless and underwhelming. Although the meat came quickly to our table, we were both not impressed with the seasoning nor the flavour.
If it weren't for the wine selection and the drinks, I would have been extremely disappointed. I love food and have no problem spending money on it, but I wouldn't go back to this restaurant.
My daughter now has a new favorite restaurant! I was a bit worried about taking a couple picky eaters there, little pricey if they refuse to try anything, but thankfully they both thought it was great. One loved the salad choices and the other with all the meat! We'll worth the price. Husband actually undone a button. Lol thought that only happened on commercials.
This place isn’t for me - however that isn’t to say others wouldn’t like it. For the money I can’t eat enough meat to get value out of it. I found the meat to be a bit bland - some dipping sauces might be a nice idea. The service is fine the venue noisy due to cement floors. The salad bar was just meh but again that’s just me others may enjoy it. The people I was with enjoyed it more than I did but I’m not sure any of them would go back due to the price.
I did not know this was buffet. When I arrived I had asked about being able to take out some food for my son, who was part of the reservation. He was called out to work on an emergency. The male person stated that no take out was allowed as it is buffet. Upon allowing take out I have to pay the full price of the buffet.
After eating there, I am grateful I was not allowed take out as this was a disappointment. We purchased take out at a fast food place which was tastier.
This is my opinion; however upon testing it out by others - you might like the place and food.
The service was excellent otherwise.
We had a great time at Pampa, but the price of the meal—in total—was exorbitant. If you have money to blow—and don't mind spending a lot of money for a minimum of food—this is a great place. We had a table of 4 adults and 1 teen. The bill, including drinks was $400, not including tip.
Let's face it... there is only so much meat you can eat before you are full... and you're going to hit the "Full" mark on your appetite meter a LONG time before you achieve good value at Pampa.
The food was great! About the only bad thing I can say about Pampa is the atrocious price. Other than that, it was excellent.
Although there are numerous 5 out of 5 ratings for Pampa, that unfortunately was not our experience. The evening did not start off well with a surprizing $20 surcharge per person for the festive season. At $70 per person, I would expect that when you leave the restaurant, you should be saying that that was the most amazing meal you have ever experienced. The salad bar was very bland and the meat was drenched in salt. Meat was either very rare or over cooked and tough. The coconut lime shrimp was nothing special. Deserts for the most part were ok to great. We all left feeling quite uncomfortable and we did not over eat. Our experience was not good at all.
I like the Brazilian steakhouse concept. This time it was New Years and I was willing to pay. $125 person by the time the final bill came meal + drinks. Expensive but the variety of proteins I like and the young fellows serving it were very good. Worth the trip on occasion but the meal price is only the start.
I was extremely disappointed with the experience. Been going there for 3 years now at New Year’s Eve. Tried for 3 days to get through with phone calls and emails. Finally had to call there other location to see if we could add 2 more people to a reservation we had. That location sent the manager a email and we still never got a responds. Also would have been nice to be notified that the street parking was blocked off and you couldn’t park near the restaurant.
Very nice atmosphere. Good service and fresh quality food with the meat selections & in their salad/side dishes buffet. Since this is a meat diner, recommend they have steak knife for their table settings instead of the cheap butter knife. This would be better in cutting into their meat entrees & make the dining experience more classier.
Service was great! Waiter was funny and definitely made my boyfriends birthday memorable. The only thing that would have made the experience more romantic would have been if we were seated at one of the two person tables in the more private section. Was my first time at Pampa's and I look forward to going back!
After hearing rave reviews was very excited to come here. Trust me it was not that special of a time and way overpriced for what it was. Took us 25 minutes to get our plates cleared away at the end of the dinner and another 20 minutes for the bill. Waitress was way too consumed with other tables. I had read where people had to leave after 2 hours? We sat waiting to pay and leave for almost an hour after our 2 hours.
Waiters would come with meat ask two of us if we wanted any and then would leave to another table. About 3 times I wanted something they were showing at the other side and I even tried to get their attention and couldn't. It was aggrevating.
Food on hot buffet selection was minimal and Luke warm and soup was cold. I told the waitress and she shrugged and just took the soup away. Wasn't bothered.
This was not the special dinner I had hoped for for our 10th wedding anniversary and wont be going back.
We had gift cards and they knew that and so took the other couples payment we were with first then did ours and then said oh we get 10% back on the cards and I said oh that's why you took their payment first soon couldn't give the remainder to the other couple and got a smile. Ugh. I gave them to the table beside us anyways.
This was a third visit to Pampas downtown for 5 of us in our party. We wanted to show our son and his wife who were home for Xmas from France what a good dining experience was like here. We had always had great service in the past but this time was a disappointment as our service was mediocre at best. We had to get our waiters attention a few times as he seemed to be very busy at the other tables. Our dishes were not cleared and we were not offered our bill until our son finally had to go and get the waiter. We left a 10-15% tip but we would have give double with better service. At the end when our waiter calculated our bill, he came to the table and informed us that "we hadn't given him enough tip and strode away!"
Great place if you love meat! There are also vegetarian options but what you’re really paying for is the 10+ cuts of outstanding meat. Definitely go when you’re hungry in order to make the price worth it. It’ll hit your wallet hard but you’ll leave with happy taste buds!
I recommend not eating very heavy the day you are going...there are 15 cuts of meat to choose from and they are constantly coming around. We never had to wait for anything and they would bring back a certain cut of meat at our request. This place is not for vegetarian diet or small appetites! Well worth the price and you can get 2 x $50 gift cards at Costco for $79.99 and you receive $5 back on every gift card you use for your next visit! it is quite noisy, no not a good romantic or date night but great for our family of five, including three grown men with nearly bottomless appetites!
What a fun and great expierence this was. So much different meats to chose from. I wish they would of come back with the fav meats like they said they would but seemed to only come around when they did there rounds. Overall though the meats were awesome and done to perfection. The deserts were also awesome with a real authentic taste and the wine and drinks were 10 out of 10.
Our waitress was spot on and friendly and i wpuld recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind digging into there wallet.👌
Good restaurant but we waited a long time to get meat to our table. It looked like they just passed us by. At one point I waited 15 min for ANY meat to be served. The South side Pampas is much better.
The food when we got it was great. The server showed up occasionally and at dessert I asked for a green tea with my dessert. It came 10 minutes after I finished my dessert. This was my son's birthday celebration and it was disappointing.
