Palomino - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
The location is perfect which is why this place is always full with plenty of customers. We came before a show and liked how close it was to the theatre. Our waiter was great and took our order pretty quickly. They then had other servers bring the meal which allows the food to get served quickly and not dependent on the waiter who is busy tending to other customers. The actual food was just fair (beet salad had minimal beets, dressing, pistachios but tons of greens that were way to big for single mouthful. The stuffed sole was just okay, not much flavor and the texture was somewhat dry and mushy all at the same time). Overall good location with good service. If they could get the food right it would be worth coming to when not going to a show.
The server was great. The ambiance is nice. Not our first time here but had been a while. Our appetizers, the meatballs were still fridge cold. They were nice and took them back and gave us fresh ones. They were also nice to take them off the bill. The 2nd batch was also cold. Didn’t complain, we just sucked it up and ate them.
One friend never received his Caesar and was still on the bill. Two of us ordered the special which was the pork chop. No taste, dry and chewy. He left most of his. We didn’t complain as we had a show to catch.
Overall it was a bad dining experience. After spending over $309 with our group, we won’t be going back. NOT WORTH IT!
This was my first time at Palomino. The food was delicious, but the service wasn’t the best. Our waiter offered my friend 3 refills of soda but didn’t once offer me a refill of mine. Also, he spilled sugar all over my arm and hair when prepping the donuts tableside. Not sure what I did to deserve this subpar treatment. The only difference between me and my friend is that she’s white and I’m Filipino. I want to believe that this was an isolated incident. Perhaps he just needs to check his implicit bias.
Staff was ready to seat us right away. Although we did ask for a different table since they sat us at a table that was small and had trouble getting our legs around the legs of the table. Staff accommodated our request with a smile and without hesitation gave a different table which was more comfortable. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Gave us a 10% credit since we were going to the 5th Av for Mamma Mia. Made sure we knew how to get from the restaurant to the theatre. Good start to our evening.
4 of us went before a show for dinner. We each enjoyed our dinner. 2 had pasta which was flavorful and fresh. The waiter was very entertaining and made sure we got out in time for our show. The starter bread is always nice served with a tomato sauce (that needs salt). We ended with creme brulee which was smooth and nice with fresh berries.
I used to work in the building, but hadn't been back for a number of years after my firm relocated. Returning to Palomino was an absolute joy. The atmosphere and food were fabulous and fun. Eric is bar-none the best waiter we have ever had, both delightful and attentive, entertaining and utterly professional. Hurrahs for the rotisserie meats, the amazing appetizers, and the creative drinks as well. Particularly good for pre- or post-theatre.
How can you like cold fries, cold pasta, and a grilled chicken sandwich that's still cold in the middle? Hadn't eaten here for a few years and this was a big surprise. Doubt that I will be back very soon. Definitely not up to par and I really can't find a reason to recommend it since there are so many other really good dining opportunities in Seattle.
Good service and nice touch was a free dessert and candle for birthday celebration. Disappointed that Paella is off the menu. Our substitute was okay but rotisserie chicken needs to be cooked more thoroughly so I can eat it there and not take home to finish cooking. Chop Chop salad was as good as always.
Great food and terrific service. Met an old friend to catch up and our server, Tony, was aware of this and was very kind to let us take our time. This is a great place for meeting friends and respecting good, casual food. Definitely one of our favorites in Seattle.
