Palomino - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
We had been meaning to eat at Palimino for several years but just never got around to it until our anniversary. It's a wonderful choice for an anniversary, but don't wait. The food is delicious, the atmosphere subdued and gracious, and the service is perfect. There when needed, but not smothering. The noise level was perfect for two older people to hear each other without overhearing conversation from other tables. I believe this will become our GoTo restaurant now..and not just for special occasions.
Everything was perfect. We have a Girls Day Out every Christmas season and Palominos is always our lunch/dinner choice. We were a small group this year (only three, usually 12) but it was just as special from the receptionist to the waitperson to the food. Perfect.
I've dined regularly at the Palominos in SF, so I was expecting the same level of food. The salad that I always order was really bad. The chicken was like pressed chicken and the lettuce was a bit wilted. I sent it back. I then ordered a small cesar salad and it too was wilty. The waiter was very nice and they did subtract my meal from the final bill which I very much appreciated. I'm not sure why the quality of food was less than par, but I wouldn't give it another try. My friend liked her pasta and was satisfied.
Good location for downtown events and fun and cheery. My hot food was served cold and the broiled cauliflower was not done or flavorful, I had to use a knife to cut it. A salad and pizza in the group was good. Our server was ok but put everyone's forks on a plate with a single persons pizza to be boxed.
Brought my family of 4 for a Christmas Light weekend, Downtown getaway. Found this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Beef tenderloin was the best I ever had. Handmade pasta was delicious. 2015 Pinot Noir Sonoma Cutrer was exquisite. Kids meals were perfect. Great open restaurant with lots of views and Christmas decorations. Definitely would go back.
It was a special holiday lunch and they got the orders wrong and two people had to wait another 20 minutes for their food, after a very long initial wait. The second time, the order was right but the pasta was literally in hard clumps and under cooked and had to be returned a second time. The waitress was super nice about it, but we won't return and neither will any of the people who accompanied us. We ended up getting refunded and left hungry.
The service was great. We did notice however, that the shelf next to us was very dusty. This took away from the enjoyment of our meal as we couldn’t quite ignore the dust. Also, the bathroom was messy. Since there are only 4 stalls it was disconcerting to have one stall where the door would not lock.
Great time there, great food, and genuine, caring attitude from waiter - she was lovely.
The only hitch was that we were there for my birthday, and they brought out a creme brulee that we hadn't asked for, but it was nice of them. Yet we were charged for it, we saw later. No fault of the waiter, I suspect it's typical upper management thinking. Just seemed to cheapen our time there.
We had great service, although a little impersonal, she was very respectful of our time as we were headed to a show at The Paramount. The food was truly nothing special, in fact I was disappointed at the presentation and overall flavors. It was super busy, but that didn't slow the staff down, we were seated, greeted and taken care of quickly and it was easy to see the staff was working together.
We have seasons tickets to the Paramount so each time we have a show we try out a different restaurant. My husband and I also had our two teenage daughters with us as we tried out Palominos. The food was pretty good. We had the meatballs - very good- and the calimari -excellent (though we didn't like either of the dips). For dinner we had a margarita pizza (good if you like really thin crust), shrimp scampi (excellent), and the lamb shank special (could have used more seasoning). For dessert we had the tirimisu (very good), gelato, lemon cake, and orange ricotta donuts. The ginger-pear martini was very good and my husband enjoyed the cask-aged old fashion.
We would go again, but there are other restaurants that are better and more to try.
I have eaten here for business meals in the past and once took my Mom. That time, we could hear each other well enough to have a conversation. Not this time! When a Family holiday theater plan was in motion, I suggested this location because food & drink had been good in the past. The wait to order, receive beverages, and receive food was horrendous. The waiter said many times that the bar was slammed. The kitchen was slammed. My Sister in laws soup was just BROTH skimmed off the top (absolutely ZERO chicken or orzo pasta). The waiter replaced it and he obviously knew how to pull a bowl of soup. My quinoa shrimp bowl was tasty but the kitchen literally FORGOT the quinoa! None of this was the fault of the waiter, but I would try to find a quieter, more well staffed restaurant on any busy holiday weekend.
Eaten at Palomino many times over the past 15 years or so. Usually pretty good. Not the best, but had good food for most palettes—pleasing our children to the grandparents. But last night everything we ordered was absolutely terrible. So much so, we didn’t bother to send anything back, because we’d have to send it all back. Basically flushed $130 down the toilet. The kids pizza tasted weird and was soggy, the meatballs were like warm to cold, the Caesar dressing extremely fishy, and the chicken marsala was so flavorless, we all thought they perhaps forgot to actually put the Marsala wine in the dish—even the table focaccia bread seemed stale. I can’t believe this was an ‘off-night’. And I wouldn’t risk giving it another shot.
Service was excellent as was the food. Our waitress was so personable, we felt like she was a friend by the end of the evening. We have eaten in the bar prior, but this was the first time we ate in the restaurant. Food was wonderful. We had the Scallops and the Prawns. Both dishes were excellent.
First visit. Service was perfect - friendly, knowledgeable, timely, and just enough to keep in touch without being intrusive or interrupting your conversation. Our meals were delicious (Maple Marinated Chicken Salad and one of their specials which was salmon with brussel sprouts, beets, etc.) and portions were perfect. My friend claimed her lemon drop was the best ever!! We will both recommend to friends and will definitely return.
Palomino has the best staff! Everyone is friendly and very attentive. A variety of meal choices available. They readily accept special requests for people like me who have dietary restrictions.
My food was over cooked. Tony replaced it quickly.
Great atmosphere and wine Wednesday is the best!!
