Palomino - Seattle
Food was okay. Service was okay as well. Went there to have a quick dinner before a performance at Benaroya Hall. We were seated in a far corner. Waiter took a long time in coming to greet us. Service and food delivery were somewhat slow. Salmon dish was overcooked and dining companion's pasta was under cooked. Was disappointed and expected more from the restaurant.
Perfect place to come to before enjoying an evening at the 5th Avenue Theater or The Paramount. We had a more casual evening planned, dinner and a baseball game! The thin crust pepperoni pizza here cannot be beat, it is fantastic! It's actually large enough to be shared by two people, especially if you also eat a starter salad, which we did - and it was also quite generously portioned. Absolutely loved the Point Reyes Farmstead Blue Cheese salad! Can hardly wait to return for that again!
The atmosphere here is warm, inviting, and relaxing and is comfortable for formal or casual attire. Either way, the food is delicious and the service is outstanding!
After dinner we walked a block over to catch the train to the ballpark and arrived in no time flat. No parking hassles. A definite Seattle must!
Good place to have a bite pre/post theatre. Easy access and fair pricing.
All good except the living wage fee was a stunt pulled on the final bill to make a political statement. Not notified ahead of time in any obvious manner.
We had a late reservation and we were their last guests of the night yet they welcomed us warmly and did not rush us. The service and food are excellent!
Unfortunately most of the vegetarian dishes contain some non-veg item eg cauliflower and soup cooked with chicken broth and brussel sprouts cooked in animal fat. Not Vegetarian friendly and little can accommodated despite seeming to have an extensive menu...
Great for before or after show dining. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.
Great place to go for drinks, dinner before 5th Avenue Show
This is a very noisy place. We didn't have a great time because of that
Fantastic service and food. Get the scallops, your mouth will thank you
Excellent food and portions were ample. The service was friendly and attentive.
Excellent food considering the reasonable prices for Seattle
Variety of classic Italian fares
Fantastic casual restaurant in downtown Seattle. There is a variety of food for everyone to choose from with great proportions to value. The food was terrific and cooked to perfection. The server was attentive and made great suggestions. The crafted cocktails were fantastic (especially the cask old fashioned) with out of this world desserts (creme brûlée). A great place for a special occasion or a bite with friends!
Had a birthday dinner on the way to the symphony and they gave me a complimentary creme broulee with a candle. Nice touch. The crab stuffed sole on special was excellent, as was the service. Waiter was friendly and helpful. It's in a nice spot, on the third floor overlooking an atrium and 5th Avenue. I'd go there again.
Can always depend on Palomino to provide great food. Perfect business lunch spot.
Our one complaint is that there is not many vegan choices. Items that look vegan are prepared with chicken stock. I had the mushroom soup and it was rich and filling.
Perfect for pre-theater birthday lunch for my friend!
We were greeted warmly by the host who seated us in a very nice table.
Brie was our amazing server who was upbeat exuding positive energy and was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We were so impressed by Brie. Paul who is the Manager approached our table to introduce himself and personally welcome us to Palomino’s. He made us feel very welcome with his graciousness.
The panini sandwich with fries were so delicious.....my friend had the chopped salad and mushroom soup which were to die for!!! We cannot wait to go back! It’s such a perfect restaurant to dine in before or after a Show....or at any time!!! We had a five-star experience!! Thank you very much to all Palomino staff!
Palomino is perfect for dinner before a show at the Fifth Avenue. We ordered very different entrees and all three were very good. The wait staff was particularly attentive.
We love Palomino before the theatre- great variety, good quality-/
High service standards— noisy AF- but just because everyone’s enjoying themselves and the open air ceiling in an otherwise empty mall setting.
Palomino has long been a favorite but standards seem to be slipping. Service was good but food was not as we've come to know it. My friend's salad was a bit limp and my fish overcooked.
Scampi was delicious! I ate every bite. Service was efficient and friendly.
Always a good time at Palomino
Great food and excellent service at moderate prices. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.
Did not like the table we were assigned. The entire restaurant was empty and we were seated in the rear of the restaurant.
On a positive note, we were able to make a last minute dinner reservation. On a negative note, the restaurant doesn't feel very special. It's probably more of a lunch spot.
Waiter Paul was excellent !!
Food came before cocktails arrived.
I understand why my teenager wanted to go here - it's loud, good pizza, casual, good service. But the food was meh. Pastas were gooey, pasta/seafood dishes were flavorless. Pizza was fine. Steak was good.
Service was the one bright spark - it's attentive, friendly, and fast. If I had to, I'd try it again to see if we were there on an off night but with all of the other options within a 2-block radius, I don't see that happening
We have dined at Palomino's before 5th Ave. Theater performances for years. The dinners have been enjoyable; good food and drink, excellent service, and the validated parking also maked the experience an excellent value.
We had a great overall experience. The service was the best!
I'm a frequent diner at Palomino. Like everything about it. I had the scampi this time. Delicious. Also, I appreciate the tails being removed from the scampi. The pasta was an excellent complement. My only suggestion is that you eliminate the toasted garlic bread from the dish itself. It sucked up a lot of the juice. Also, it was hard to cut, so I just left it. I think garlic bread on the side would be much better.
Always great service, a theater discount, and validated parking after 5. This is our pre-theater favorite restaurant. I really should try something other than portabella mushroom soup and chopped salad, but it's just so good!
Good spot for a working lunch
It is always a pleasure to meet friends for a wonderful meal at Palomino. I look forward to it every time!
The pesto ahi was less than desirable. The fish was overcooked, the sauces were not good, and I could not believe the chef did not know a proper wine pairing to go with his dish. Neither did the wait staff.
I’ve asked three times in the past for a proper wine pairing. To date, I have never received one… Not from the chef and not from the wait staff. All they did was choose the most expensive white on the list. If you know anything about wine you know price has nothing to do with quality. The wine was decent, it just did not go with the dish. It was a terrible pairing.
I would think that, for the specialties in particular, you would know the correct wine pairings. This was truly a disappointment.
Overpriced for the mediocre food
Great place to go before a show. Everyone was so nice and many people came to check in on us throughout dinner. CJ was an especially fantastic waiter - thank you, CJ!
The restaurant is lovely, the hostess greeted us warmly. The food - so, so... the rigatoni was good, but the soup of the day - chicken was gamely and just tasted strange. Service was average, as the assistant waiters were more on top of things, filling water constantly, but something was definitely off here. Just simply an average experience. May not return.
