Palomino - Seattle
Had a birthday dinner on the way to the symphony and they gave me a complimentary creme broulee with a candle. Nice touch. The crab stuffed sole on special was excellent, as was the service. Waiter was friendly and helpful. It's in a nice spot, on the third floor overlooking an atrium and 5th Avenue. I'd go there again.
Can always depend on Palomino to provide great food. Perfect business lunch spot.
Our one complaint is that there is not many vegan choices. Items that look vegan are prepared with chicken stock. I had the mushroom soup and it was rich and filling.
Perfect for pre-theater birthday lunch for my friend!
We were greeted warmly by the host who seated us in a very nice table.
Brie was our amazing server who was upbeat exuding positive energy and was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We were so impressed by Brie. Paul who is the Manager approached our table to introduce himself and personally welcome us to Palomino’s. He made us feel very welcome with his graciousness.
The panini sandwich with fries were so delicious.....my friend had the chopped salad and mushroom soup which were to die for!!! We cannot wait to go back! It’s such a perfect restaurant to dine in before or after a Show....or at any time!!! We had a five-star experience!! Thank you very much to all Palomino staff!
Palomino is perfect for dinner before a show at the Fifth Avenue. We ordered very different entrees and all three were very good. The wait staff was particularly attentive.
Palomino has long been a favorite but standards seem to be slipping. Service was good but food was not as we've come to know it. My friend's salad was a bit limp and my fish overcooked.
Scampi was delicious! I ate every bite. Service was efficient and friendly.
Always a good time at Palomino
Great food and excellent service at moderate prices. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.
Did not like the table we were assigned. The entire restaurant was empty and we were seated in the rear of the restaurant.
On a positive note, we were able to make a last minute dinner reservation. On a negative note, the restaurant doesn't feel very special. It's probably more of a lunch spot.
Waiter Paul was excellent !!
Food came before cocktails arrived.
I understand why my teenager wanted to go here - it's loud, good pizza, casual, good service. But the food was meh. Pastas were gooey, pasta/seafood dishes were flavorless. Pizza was fine. Steak was good.
Service was the one bright spark - it's attentive, friendly, and fast. If I had to, I'd try it again to see if we were there on an off night but with all of the other options within a 2-block radius, I don't see that happening
We have dined at Palomino's before 5th Ave. Theater performances for years. The dinners have been enjoyable; good food and drink, excellent service, and the validated parking also maked the experience an excellent value.
We had a great overall experience. The service was the best!
I'm a frequent diner at Palomino. Like everything about it. I had the scampi this time. Delicious. Also, I appreciate the tails being removed from the scampi. The pasta was an excellent complement. My only suggestion is that you eliminate the toasted garlic bread from the dish itself. It sucked up a lot of the juice. Also, it was hard to cut, so I just left it. I think garlic bread on the side would be much better.
Always great service, a theater discount, and validated parking after 5. This is our pre-theater favorite restaurant. I really should try something other than portabella mushroom soup and chopped salad, but it's just so good!
Good spot for a working lunch
It is always a pleasure to meet friends for a wonderful meal at Palomino. I look forward to it every time!
The pesto ahi was less than desirable. The fish was overcooked, the sauces were not good, and I could not believe the chef did not know a proper wine pairing to go with his dish. Neither did the wait staff.
I’ve asked three times in the past for a proper wine pairing. To date, I have never received one… Not from the chef and not from the wait staff. All they did was choose the most expensive white on the list. If you know anything about wine you know price has nothing to do with quality. The wine was decent, it just did not go with the dish. It was a terrible pairing.
I would think that, for the specialties in particular, you would know the correct wine pairings. This was truly a disappointment.
Overpriced for the mediocre food
Great place to go before a show. Everyone was so nice and many people came to check in on us throughout dinner. CJ was an especially fantastic waiter - thank you, CJ!
The restaurant is lovely, the hostess greeted us warmly. The food - so, so... the rigatoni was good, but the soup of the day - chicken was gamely and just tasted strange. Service was average, as the assistant waiters were more on top of things, filling water constantly, but something was definitely off here. Just simply an average experience. May not return.
Just a mediocre experience. Nothing bad particularly but nothing great either.
Palomino never disappoints. Great staff, good food, changing menu. Perfect place before a show at the Paramount or 5th Ave.
Excellent restaurant for a pre theater meal. Our waiter made excellent recommendations. Great salmon.
It's been 25 years since I last ate at Palomino. The food has changed (still excellent), the prices have come down, but the service and atmosphere are still top notch. I can't wait to return and I won't wait 25 years again.
Surprised at how the overall quality of food and service has slipped from previous excellence. Very disappointed.
Palomino is a frequent favorite of ours. We often go here before shows at the 5th Avenue and Paramount theaters.
The overall experience was very good and the food was amazing. The only negative (and it's not really a negative) is that there was a overly strong alcohol taste in the crème brulee and tiramisu. Otherwise, it could not have been better.
It took a few minutes to get any kind of service, but once we did everything went very smoothly. It may have been unexpectedly busy for a Sunday night and only one waiter. The food was excellent and love the third floor location, above the bustle of the downtown street.
Service was good, restaurant has all the ambiance of a shopping mall hallway, food was
mediocre, didn't appreciate hidden service charge for poor wages to staff.
Parking is a nightmare, downtown has become a nightmare thanks to greedy politicians
selling out the city.
The food was pretty bad. The roasted chicken was so dry I couldn't eat it. The pizza was tasteless and the crust was non-existent. This used to be a good place that wasn't great but was dependably OK. No more!
The floor was very slippery. I almost fell walking to the table and out of the restaurant. Very dangerous! My husband got a different entree than what was orderd. It was very good, but not what he ordered. We wanted to make sure we made our show on time so decided not to say anything.
We have had the same waitress, Breee, several times. She is phenomenal and makes our visit special. Palomino's is our go-to restaurant when attending the 5th Avenue Theater. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful. We both have problems with heights and we never have a problem being placed exactly where we want to be seated. The food is wonderful. We have been dining here for over 25 years and will continue to do so.
Our favorite restaurant and also our friend's favorite.
