This was my first time for dinner. I have been many times for happy hour. My husband loved his porkchop, but my fish was just so-so. Service was quick until it started to get busy. Good for groups.
Requested a coffee when we sat at the table, it came 20 minutes later with the food. Also a pizza was ordered and it came burnt. The other food and the drinks were okay.
We were happy to receive the promotional coupon for a discount of $50 when you dine as a party of four and spend a specified amount, drinks were okay, food was okay, dessert okay, service okay, there was a billing mix up, two cards were presented to split the total, but the server charged the same card twice which required refunding and recharging at a later date, all in all, just okay. Not rushing back.
Had a 6pm reservation and was seated right away. Sat at table for 20 minutes waiting for a waiter at which point the manager actually came over and asked us if we would like a drink. Good thing we had been at the bar for 45 minutes to enjoy the view.
Wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. Might have been 10 tables with people.
Food is amazing and worth the price.
We dine at Palomino often and it seldom disappoints. Very friendly staff. Food was good and the place was full with friendly people. Special thanks to Carlos for his help.
LOVED the food, especially the roasted cauliflower! amazing food and great place for vegetarians.
Been going there for over10 years, really understaffed the past Monday, really need a manager to walk the dinning to check on diners. Overall this place can be a hit or miss, but when it’s good a real treat.
Unexciting, we selected this restaurant as we had relatives and kids from out of town and it was safe for unadventurous types
I have eaten at this restaurant almost every time I am in SF over the last 20 years. This was by far the worst experience.
The appetizer came last - the server didn't even offer to comp it. Service was terribly slow.
very bad experience. Would never recommend to anyone, and will never come back
The food, service & experience was amazing! It was the perfect setting for our business meeting as we had a view of the lighted Bay Bridge. The service was a bit slow as the night progressed.
Service was great, but it was a Monday night, so not very busy in the dining area, bar was busy as usual. Food was good, ordered Filet Mignon, Sea Scallops, and the Frutti De Mari (Seafood Pasta) all good.
We come to Palomino often and can count on good food and great service very welcoming staff. Carlos is a great server and is very helpful - always willing to go the extra mile toake customers happy!
Went there because a co-worker was retiring. Ambiance was nice and service very good. Waiters were attentive. The food is regular American fare, nothing outstanding. The sauce in the pasta was a little too creamy for my taste. Fries are the thin cut type and very good.
service was horrible; had to get up and find someone to come take order; had been there before and had been ok -but this time was just unacceptable
Food was amazing but still a little over priced the server seemed over whelmed ans didn't know anything about the drinks but was able to get me a small taste of two different wines(which they usually dont do there) the restaurant has a great view of the bay bridge on the patio or at a window seat
Seafood was not cooked properly and interactions with waiter seemed forced. Restaurant is beautiful but would not go again due to experience.
Wonderful food and service! Wish the Steak and frites meal included a vegetable. Would come again and recommend to others!
Amazing as always, Carlos is the best waiter!
Chose this restaurant to treat a cousin on their anniversary visit to SF, vicinity to Ferry Building was a factor. Had the chicken marsala, other diners had the prawn bowl, Roma pizza and scallops. All dishes were excellent and service was superb. Great view of the Bay Bridge also.
Gluten free options advertised but very limited. Expensive for what it was. Dessert took forever and when we asked nothing was done to accommodate. Clearly it was an error but should have been addressed.
Glad we made reservations. Excellent food.
My wife and I join our younger son and his girlfriend for dinner on Christmas Day each year. This year our son chose Palomino. Wow, what a wonderful place to eat Christmas dinner! The food was fabulous, the wait staff amazing and the views terrific. When our older son comes to town in two weeks we're going back to Palomino!
Excellent Christmas dinner with my friends.
Great service, lovely drinks, lucious scallops, wish i had more now, and decadent desserts.. And no traffic.. Parking was easy but it was a holiday.
Everything absolutely fine. We could relax with marvelous food and know that everything would be taken care of. The special Christmas menu featured excellent choices. Looking forward to being there again.
This was my second visit to Palomino. The first time was delightful , so I decided to take my son there for Christmas. There was no special menu that day, and service was very slow. We waited 30 minutes for our entrees. When I asked the waiter why they were taking so long, he said he would check. He did not come back to our table after checking. My son ordered dessert, a lemoncello cake which I assume is already prepared, and that did not get served for another 15 minutes. Perhaps the waiter was new, or it was too crowded that night, but it was a disappointing experience.
Good selection too limited! No chicken options on the menu at all
This was a great place to celebrate Christmas. Our waiter, Carlos, was so cheerful and attentive to all our needs. The menu was reasonably priced and the meal was delicious.
Place is nice and with a great view of the Bay Bridge. When friends from out of town ask where to eat with view, this is on my list. Food was great. I had the Wild Salmon and it was very tasty. Good for special occasions, dates or just a hangout spot for friends.
Palomino is usually a solid place to go and we've been there before on Christmas night. However this time, it's like they had their B-Team working. We were sat 30 min after our reservation time; we had 4 kids with us so you can imagine how that went. Our server was clearly overwhelmed. He was zigging and zagging, barely stopped to say more than 3 words to us. Thankfully we brought a bottle of wine because it took a very long time to get a drink. One of the drinks we ordered sat so long at the bar the ice melted and it became watered down. When he delivered it, our server (Christopher I think, he never told us) never apologized. 4 of us ordered steak and couldn't cut them because we didn't have steak knives; we had to flag down someone else to ask. I think the worst part is that gratuity was included and he didn't deserve the $50 in tip we HAD to give him. I would've asked to speak to a manager but who knows how long that would've taken. I'm very disappointed with our experience and will not be going back to Palomino on such a special night.
Horrible. Our family went for Christmas dinner and we all were incredibly disappointed. The food which ranged in prices from $13 for an appetizer to $37 per entree was disgusting. They had a limited selection for Holiday which was fine however the food was no better than going to a chain like Dennys where you'd expect processed mediocre food. Obviously the potatoes and vegetables had been cooked ahead, left in a steam tray under a heat lamp because there were overcooked dry and tasteless. The pasta cheese sauce had separated into pools of butter. The server was really sweet and bent over backwards to do anything she could for us as did the manager on duty. We really didn't wan more bad food so accepted the discount offered to us. Unfortunately Palomino has become another tourist trap on the Waterfront. Years ago people "dressed" to go there and especially during the holidays. Now everyone was in jeans and sweat clothes. It's really gone way way downhill. So sorry we spent what we did there never again
Food and service was great. Fourth year in a row to have Christmas dinner here.
Went on Christmas Day for 12:30 brunch and was hoping to see more egg related options..However, the dishes we selected were all well prepared and we enjoyed the salmon w/mashed, the scallops w/ risotto and the bruschetta and onion rings. Service was god and very friendly especially considering they were working on Christmas Day. An added value here--parking available!!!
Very kind and accommodating service. The recommendations were appreciated. We had a lovely Christmas Eve!
The steak (fillet mignon) was blah, i've had better ones elsewhere. The sauce is too sweet, reminds me of sweet soy sauce.
The service is good.
The espresso is good.
The dessert (tiramisu) is okay.
Great option for a young family, good food, timely and courteous service and plenty of options for all 5 of us.
Ol' Reliable, you can always count on Palomino for a solid meal and solid, attentive service. The menu has a lot of usual suspects, well executed. Nothing particularly imaginative, but they can make a steak to order and the waitstaff is knowledgeable and accommodating if you have particular dietary needs.
We had a good experience as usual. Food was good and the service (Carlos) was great!
