We had a waiter who was in training and he was very kind and helpful to all of us. It was a birthday lunch for a friend and we all enjoyed the food, the ambience and the service!
Service was a little slow today...glad we had the extra time.
Nice evening with a great view of the Bay Bridge. We were a party of 5 celebrating a birthday and post theatre (matinee). Almost a 2 mile walk from the Golden Gate theatre, so you may want to Uber in, but a pleasant walk on Market to Embarcadero if the weather is nice. Our waitress Laura D was fun and patient.
Dinner and cocktails were very reasonable and very good, seafood Louie, chicken marsala and filet. Great night!
The service was slow and terrible. It took over 20 min to get our drinks and 40 min to get our meals and it was not busy. I would not come back.
Went there on a Sunday night for their three course menue for $ 25 and were pleasantly surprised. The interior is comfortable and good looking even though not modern. Great service and we felt welcome. This kept on through the whole meal. The food tasted excellent. Nice salad and after that a great steak that tasted fine. Also the french fries were very fresh and crispy. Oh I forget the wine; very nice chardonnay (housewine). Great taste. Classic european desserts like Tiramisu and Creme brulee tasted like home.
The view on the bridge is fantastic. We enjoyed the LED performance that kept on going. We had a perfect night out and could go home easily with the metro that stops in front of the restaurant.
The only point of improvement is that I would have to get some bread with my salad or just as a service but that wasnt there or was forgotten
It's nice restaurant and has decent food for the price. Has a great view of the Bay bridge.
Used to frequent this restaurant for business lunches. Hadn't been there in years and worried the quality might have gone south. Fortunately, that was not the case. Met friends here visiting from Australia. It's right along the waterfront. We enjoyed an awesome appetizer of blue cheese melted on waffle fries. Then we had a tasty kale salad and two different thin-crust pizzas. Food was delicious and our server, Enrique, was friendly and attentive. So sorry I waited so long to return to this charming restaurant.
To start we had the tomato-basil bruschetta which was good. We also had the crab and artichoke dip which was also good. The ciopinno was amazing but a lot of work having to crack the crab legs, however, it was so savory with a good variety of seafood it was worth it. The filet migon was enjoyed by my date. We had a delicious drink with blackberries, blueberries, ginger beer and vodka but we can’t remember the name but it was so delicious and refreshing. Overall, good food and you’ll get stunning views of the bay bridge.
Service and food was excellent as always. We’ve decided this will be the new family birthday get together place
I've been here many times. Food is consistently excellent, especially the fresh fish and pasta dishes.
Horibble service, the place was 75% empty and still no one came to our table for almost 20 minutes. My fish was super dry as well as some of my colleagues. I’ll not visit this place again.
The parking was fabulous. The food was I had was that impressive - however my husband enjoyed his pizza.
Palomino was kind enough to serve EARLY dinner on 9/20 because of the 5:00 start time for the Eagles concert at AT&T - dinner menu was ready - servers were ready - parking was a slam-dunk!
Palomino has been my go-to for many years because I can always count on it for gatherings that make everyone happy - from the service to the menu and cocktails!
I am so happy to be able to count on Palomino for an experience never to forget!
Great food and service. Restaurant was unable to find reservation.
This was our first brunch at the Palomino. The service was adequate. I would not make a special effort to return. We used to eat here when the ballpark opened but there is more competition closer to the ballpark now. The food and service Palomino aren't what they used to be unfortunately.
Terrible gluten-free pizza. After complaining, they acknowledged that had run out of ingredients and bought them from another vendor. I ate two pieces and complained but they still charged me for the whole pizza!!! How greedy.
We’re a group of singers who started a choir and we start every season with a big family-like dinner somewhere. This was our 2nd time at Palomino and they always take good care of us! We had a reservation for 12 that grew to 15 but they accommodated us graciously :) and the service was attentive and fast. Definitely recommend this for any group dinners or parties. I also had the mussel chorizo stew with a side of Caesar salad and it was delicious! The mussels were cooked perfectly, the salad was a little overdressed, but all-in-all it was great!
One of our favorites! Special shoutout to our server, Ethan, who was fu, friendly, accommodating and awesome!
We had two servers and they were both amazing.
They were courteous and their food suggestions was phenomenal.
Courteous service and good atmosphere while overlooking the bay bridge as a backdrop
It was a bit over priced. Food was ok. Not good value for money
Terrific evening. Have a wonderful birthday celebration for my husband. The food, atmosphere and view of the bridge was amazing.
Gathered 5 friends from out of the country as they just arrived from the airport. The restaurant was about 25% full and sadly our waiter was slow and not attentive. We ordered 3 things while waiting for others to join. 2 of 3 arrived and when asked about my salad the waiter unapologetically said it would be a long wait. He took forever to get the check to us and I asked to be comped my beer, which was basically my dinner. He sassed me, made excuses. I told him he was not going to win an argument with a customer. Manager comped the beer but I won’t go back there!
Always a favorite--we love coming here due to its consistency, and willingness to work with us with food allergies (gluten); great options, friendly, no-nonsense staff.
Great ambience...we were seated next to window w/ view of Bay Bridge. The 4 stars for service was because our waiter forgot a salad we ordered and the 4 stars for food was because the alfredo pasta was made w/ gluten free noodles (only option available) that were stiffer than regular ones. Otherwise, great value for food and the ambience/view was awesome. One other thing...this restaurant was a bit difficult to find so give yourself plenty of time to find parking & the restaurant.
Waiter didn’t know anything about the menu or wine
I have eaten here before and had good experiences. This was not true for this visit. My wife and I arrived at 8:30 (well before closing) but the staff appeared to be at the end of their day and the service was not great. The server was pleasant enough, but not very attentive as he worked every table being served. The food was tasty enough, but well over cooked and not hot by the time it was delivered. It was disappointing...and a poor experience for the money paid.
Thank you for the excellent service and very reasonable price for the corkage fee. I really appreciate the diversity in food options.
I had a birthday dinner. Service was good and very accommodating. A tad bit slow but it was okay. We all enjoyed anyways. Food was good.
Great food great service
No vegetarian options in the dinner menu. Also, they have a menu which couldn't be customised to change meat options.
Not well managed. Only one server on the patio. The restaurant needs deep cleaning, better food, better servers and managers.
We were looking forward to a nice dinner out and have always wanted the try Palomino. I was a little put off by the prior reviews, but figured we would give it a try. Unfortunately, it really was just a so-so experience. We had a great table with a beautiful view, but that turned out to be the high point. Like others have said, we ordered drinks and they took a very long time to be delivered. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer and they were so tough, we could barely cut them with a knife, never mind try to chew them. The food was quite tasty but all the meals for our table were literally only lukewarm when served. It seems like they could do some remedial work to bring the quality of his restaurant up a notch or two, but until that happens I wouldn’t go back.
The food was good, however it took way to long to come. The waiter/waitress was nice but it even took like 20 minutes for us to get our cards back after we paid.
Had a business lunch of 4 and ordered the Pesto Mahi Mahi dish recommended by our waiter and the others ordered the chicken marsala, pizza and calamari fritti. Right from the start, the waiter mixed up our drink orders and we had to swap our drinks with each other. We should have taken that as a sign but we kept our hope for a good lunch. Unfortunately, both orders of the Mahi Mahi were overcooked and the pasta was room temperature. The chicken marasala was good but the side of pasta was gummy and room temperature. We don't understand why we were being rushed as the waiter tried to clear our plates when we were clearly not done with our meals. Looking around, there were plenty of empty tables and there was no need to rush us on a weekday. And, to end our meal, the waiter proceeded to give us the dessert menus before we finished our meals. I don't know what has happened to Palomino but it has gone downhill with the food and service but at least it still has a great view.
Had a reservation but was not needed on a Sunday night. Read previous reviews and they were mixed. But it was close by and seemed to be reasonably priced.
Service was just ok. I ordered a cocktail qnd ot did not come unt just before the entree. We had appetizers as well. The waiter told us the reason for the delay of the cocktain was because they had to go into the back to get the alchohol. The cocktail was one of their soecialties on the menu. It was a very lame excuse.
The Sunday Fixed Price 3 course dinner showed on line as costing $25.00 but the menu price when we got there was $30.00. I ordered the Shrip Scampi and my partner ordered the Ponne Fties. Both the shrimp and the steak were overcooked.
Would not recommend this place if you are looking for a good meal.
They need to bring back the pasta salad that used to come with the turkey/blue cheese/bacon sandwich at brunch. The fries don't cut it. Our waitress was overwhelmed with very little help and much of our order was missing or incorrect. More help needed to be hired for Sunday brunch, especially on a day when the SF Marathon was taking place.
The divot in the granite wine chiller threw off my train of thought as I hypothesized allegorical references to the state of modern society. Also, the spaghetti was lit af.
Our dinner knocked it out of the park. The salmon and scallops were wonderful and that chocolate tiramisu absolutely melted in our mouths! One suggestion: every time we've dined at Palomino, we've noticed the wooden partitions separating areas and tables are very dusty and covered with pieces of food. Might be a good idea to dust and clean around the entire restaurant daily :)
We celebrated our friend’s birthday and the manager gave us his best table with a view of The Bay Bridge. Our server was amazing, but the food was decent.
