Palomino - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
had a reservation and asked to wait as some quiet location tables were finishing up. after 15 minutes hostess said table being set. walked to back of restaurant and another hostess had seated the tables. back to waiting!!
Food was really poor "deconstructed pork " what garbage,
had a really nice center cut pork chop last year. Salmon dinner with skin still on the filet. The food has gone down hill fast.
We have 2 kids so we struggle to find places that are nice enough for my wife and I to enjoy and still appropriate to bring kids. Palomino did a great job of finding us a spot a near the kitchen so it would be naturally a little louder and thus cover the din or our children. My wife and I got to enjoy a GREAT meal and everyone on staff was awesome. Each and every person that walked by gave the kids a smile and wave. We've been to Palomino just the two of us, and we were able to enjoy a more intimate romantic time, so don't interpret this as saying Palomino is loud and your kids can party - it just means they gave us what we needed so we could enjoy a night of great food in comfort.
The food was quite overpriced for what you got. I ordered the classic eggs benedict. It was excellent; however, it came on a small plate with absolutely nothing else. If you order an omelette or steak and eggs, it does not come with toast. Everything is ala carte. My husband ordered the steak and eggs and the steak was very very very small and he complained that everything was cold. Perhaps his plate was ready before the rest in our party so it sat there getting cold. The waitress commented that they didn't staff properly that day and it definitely showed. The service was very sparce. I would go back but probably not for brunch.
The food was creative and yummy but the portions were very small, expecting guests to order several course perhaps - which is a bit problematic at breakfast. The service was slow even though the place was only half full and the wait person overly chatty. I'd definitely try it again because of the food, but if the service didn't improve or the portions increase in size, I'd probably pass a 3rd visit.
Palamino has been a longtime favorite of ours both for dining and happy hours. This experience was disappointing though - not living up to what we expect from Palamino, either for service or food. The burgers were good, but nothing special. The baked cheese pasta was not impressive. Service was unattentive, and everone was more focused on the all-day happy hour in the bar than on the dining room. They have also turned the end of four tables in the dining area where we sat into water stations, making you feel like you're table is part bus station. We used to think Palamino was special, but now it's falling into a not-worth-the-price category, at least for dining. We may go back for happy hour, as that's what most people seem to go for.
I'm sad to say that our experience (that specific nite, with our other family members with little kidlets) was not very good. My particular order was ok but it appeared that the staff on hand was not enough for the filled restaurant. The little grandkids were not fed in a timely manner, for this reason. We didn't get enough bread. We arrived ata 5:30 and weren't completely served until 6:45 pm - my son in law's meal was the last and he couldn't finish that as we were there to attend the Candy Cane ParadeThe meal as a whole was not outstanding because we were all fed at different times!
As a whole - we'd rate the restaurant that evening with a D+ --- I was there for lunch earlier in the week and our service was good then.
While I found the service and atmosphere good, some of the prices were completely out of line. One of the people in our party ordered the half caeser salad and told the wait person he would like to add chicken. He was told it would cost $7 to add chicken to his tiny salad. Most restaurants in the area charge $2 to add chicken.
I have loved going to Palominos for years, but this last dinner was one of my best experiences. We were there with a group of 10 people - 7 adults, 3 kids - for my birthday. My mom was worried it would not be kid friendly but she could not have been more wrong! They brought out sliced apples right away for the kids, all their food came with ice cream sundaes, and our waiter William could not have been more attentive. The chef even came out to help serve food and greet our large party! We will definitely be back as a group and I will continue to come with my friends for lunch as well as nice dinners out. Thank you Palominos for giving me a great birthday with my whole family!
My fiance and I had our Thanksgiving dinner here. It was delicious and just what we were looking for: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, grilled veggies, and of course gravy. We started with a Caesar salad and some bread with a tomato feta dip. We loved our Thanksgiving dinner so much we will probably be back again for something different!
We had a reservation at 6:30 and arrived at 6:20. Greeter said we could wait in the bar. At 6:50 we asked about our table. We were told that becaue I had taken my coat of the greeter did not recognize us even though out table was right next to the greeter. We finaly asked to be served in the bar. Pumpkin pie was tiny and hardly worth $8. Not our best experience.
We had no place to go on Thanksgiving. Palomino's welcomed us on short notice and the waitress treated us like second family. On top of that, we got well-priced Happy Hour specials in addition to extremely delicious Turkey Dinner and snappy service. We'll be back!
The food was fair, but they charged gourmet prices. We had the Thanksgiving dinner. It was ok, but nothing special. The apple sausage stuffing was good. Turkey moist. Mom's is much better.
The dessert was the worst. They served frozen pumpkin pie and charged $8. The crust was awful, I've had much better at Denny's. Disappointing.
The service, while nice, was rushed and unprofessional. Waitress couldn't find wine opener. She complained about the rush of people and would try to get to us quickly. She was serving us and a second server clumsily reached over her and sprayed ground pepper a over the table as he tried to grind pepper on our salad. They served us our main course without giving us time to finish our salad.
My husbandd and I thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal at Palomino's. We were quickly greeted at the door by friendly hostesses. Our waiter was fantastic. Everything we ordered from soup or salad to the main entree to dessert was delicious. Overall, a fabulous experience and a tremendous value!
We had reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. We were seated immediately. It was rather chilly in the restaurant. When I commented on this to our server she replied, "Oh really? I don't notice so much with my running around". She then walked away. We started with wine, soup and warm bread served with a side of salsa relish.
My daughter got a Merlot which she thoroughly enjoyed. The soups (one was a mushroom cream and the other a seafood cream) were tasty but the portion size was rather small for the price.
We ordered the turkey dinner and I requested dark meat, which I got and which was moist and tender. The portion size was substantial, but over priced. The turkey and all the fixings were good. The apple ginger cake dessert was excellent
We had our entire family--all 11 of us--for dinner at Palomino. We ranged in age from 3 to 58, and our superb server managed to keep track of the needs of everyone, from bringing the 3 year old apple slices to nibble on, to making sure the wine glasses of the adults were filled. She was really outstanding, and made our special evening even more special.
The service and ambience were very good to excellent. We were hosting an out-of-town guest, and this was a great place to take him in that it has an upscale feel. In fact, I find myself often choosing Palomino as a place to take guests. The food has both high spots and low spots. The cream of mushroom soup is a delicious starter. On this occasion I had the pork shank special. The meat was delicious, but the accompanying bean side dish was both undercooked and also not quite hot enough. My partner had shrimp/pasta arrabiata, and pasta was cooked perfectly but the shrimp were overcooked. Our guest had the macaroni and cheese, and said it was very good. To end on a positive note, I greatly enjoyed the cranberry cider sorbet for dessert.
To be honest, the food is WAY overpriced for options that are nothing special. We could not believe how high our bill was when we only split a couple small items and had a couple drinks. The menu is very confusing as well.
We will stick to the bar from now on for the happy hour food and prices! No complaints there!
It was a great experience! I have been there one other time. Anything I order is delicious. You really can't go wrong. The waiters are very friendly. It is a good place for a night out with the girls or for a romantic dinner. I wouldn't reccomend this resturant for families with really young children. I had a great experience. My group for homecoming went, and we all very very satisfied.
