Palomino - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We were there at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Palomino is a nice family restaurant. I emphasize family. Lots of families and kids. Hi noise level.
On my reservation I had said date nite, looking for something romantic. Yes, we called a couple hours ahead and asked to move our reservation by 30 minutes. They were very accommodating.
The booth was in a nice corner, next to the kitchen so the noise level from the kitchen was high. Loud talking that was not restaurant related. Evidently a few of the staff were going to a great party after work.
We asked for a different booth but only tables were available.
No silverware, no napkins. No water for some time.
We looked at the wine list. Picked a nice bottle, $96.00. It was brought to us with dirty glasses. It took at least 10 minutes to get new glasses.
The wait person was trying but must have been new and was struggling. The kitchen expediter did help her out.
Even after the appetizer was served there were still no napkins nor silverware.
We decided to split a pasta and filet and they were kind enough to split the entrees on the two plates. So appreciated.
The food was good, but for over $200 for two I think we expect more.
Maybe good for a casual lunch but not a date.
We have eaten here before, and in no way was this a reflection of the restaurant as a whole, but they were exceptionally busy during this most recent visit and they had many large and very loud parties. There was an available empty table in a more quiet location but instead of that booth, we were seated in the center between two of these parties. We were in no way upset by this, but did feel that a bit more care should have been taken in seating a smaller party when an event is taking place and other options are available. Still though, good food and the service was lovely.
Our dinner was great! My husband had red the red snapper special. It was a huge piece of fish which he ate all of . He loved it! I had the pear, walnut, blue cheese and chicken salad. It was great, too. It was my birthday. We celebrated with the lemncello cake and blueberry gelato. Delicious!
Justin was our waiter and he was fabulous! He was attentive without being overbearing and extremely pleasant. We would definitely ask for him again, if he's working that night.
Stopped in for happy hour and early dinner before a movie. Good happy hour menu of food & drink, plus can also have full dinner menu in the bar. Bar was relatively quiet in a Thursday evening. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Food was yummy. Save room for the GF donuts!
It was disappointing that the prices on the internet menu were lower than those in the restaurant menu. When I asked the waiter about it, he just shrugged. I would have expected a quality restaurant like this to have honored the prices they show on their internet menu. Not so.
Menu was OK based on the website. Food was very good but was outflanked by the service. Those reviewing this have to parcel my emotion but given that my mother likes Italian and lives in Bellevue so seemed like a slam dunk, But the staff servicing our table could have cared less and seemed annoyed by our existence.
I took my mom there for her 94th birthday which i would think would elicit some fanfare but all I got from the beginning was a ho hum response. Snobby OLD lady (I am old as well so can make that judgement) or just having a bad day? or both? passed on negative attitude and snide remarks to our party of five. What excuse if you are in the restaurant business? We were polite but requests were ignored. I do not like to use this forum to make such complaints against a restaurant but this was a beloved event that may not take place next year.
Lucky we got our food. Obligatory birthday dessert shoved in a plastic container for take home. Feel the love...No one there could give half a hoot. Someone in our party said this was corporate and it shows. Sorry Mom.
We had a family gathering at Palomino, and it was perfect for that, adults only. Our server and others did a great job of keeping us supplied with water and cocktails. Our server also helped my daughter, who is lactose intolerant, make or modify selections that worked for her. I had asked for a spacious table since several of the guys need extra space, and the perfect table was awaiting us. Food was excellent.
For as much as we love the Seattle location, we were sorely disappointed with the Bellevue one, especially since we were there for a special occasion with friends who had never been. We should have been clued in when there was no one else in the restaurant at 11am on a weekend ...
Our server was extremely slow taking our order as well as bringing the checks. We were on a time crunch and ended up being late for our appointment. Other people brought out our food and refilled our water and they were great. Not quite sure what our server even did.
Brunch was not a buffet but the individual brunch dishes were excellent. Service and attention by the staff and manager were wonderful, personable and not pushy. I've enjoyed every trip to Palomino's I've had, both the downtown Seattle and the Bellevue restaurants. The Bellevue one hasn't seemed to be quite as noisy as the Seattle each time I've been there. Brunch Sunday was for Father's Day and both Father's seemed to really enjoy their experience.
Father's Day. Short staffed. Our order wasn't correct but our waitress was great and went out of her way. She did get our order correct originally. It was the kitchen or new servers that made the mix ups. Brunch wasn't my favorite. I love love happy hour & dinner & brunch just wasn't as good.i will still go back though. 😊
We had reservations for 9AM for Fathers Day breakfast. We arrived on time. The restaurant had one other couple seated. The menu was very small with limited choice for breakfast. We ordered eggs over medium, bacon and toast and a muffin. The breakfast presentation was very poor. What was supposed to be toast was one slice of wheat bread barely warmed. Thick sliced bacon was very thin, 2 pieces on my husbands plate, 3 pieces on mine. Potatoes were pathetic.
When we got home we received an e-mail saying that if we were not going to use out reservation we should let the restaurant know so they can accommodate someone else. If they check their receipts they would see we were there. I have had many good experiences in Palomino's in Seattle but if this is the business atmosphere in Bellevue I will never be another customer and will caution any of my friends and associates to not patronize your extablishment.

The dinning area was very warm; no AC. The food was real good as was the service. Dinning area was very dark with strong backlighting from windows across the room in the distance, which left my eyes trying to adjust to lighting the whole evening. People across the table were a silhoutte with an annoying bright background.
Had dinner here a few weeks ago and it was just average. Because palominos is so convenient we decided to try again. Although the cocktails were delicious the server was overbearing and arrogant. His constant interruptions disrupted the flow of our conversation and was annoying. My sister in law and I split the steelhead dinner. The plating was lovely and the steelhead lived up to our expectations. My daughter had the snapper. It was overly breaded and she said it tasted oily. Too bad. Great location but not coming back.
