We decided to go to Palamino for Thanksgiving since we weren't having our family gathering until the following day. They had a special Thanksgiving menu with slightly more limited choices but everything was very good. We had the prime rib, the scallops and the braised lamb shank. Each were very good, although prices seemed a bit high. Presentation was very nice, however, and service was excellent.

Thanks!

The restaurant is looking a little dated and menus need to be renewed, but the food was great!

My dinner simply did not taste very good. It was capallini pomodoro. I’ve had it At palomino many times before. This was materially less good than it used to be

The food and service were both amazing. The signature Pear Martini was wonderful. Can't wait to go back.

The food was delicious and our service was wonderful. Try the almond and Parmesan crusted scallops over lemon risotto. I'm not a huge scallops fan and these were fantastic!

Had the $25/special. Exceptional - was disappointed they didn't have the variety of wine that was listed on the menu - said they had been busy.

I used to love Palamino. We were disappointed. Everything was ok, but nothing exceptional. There are so many great restaurants downtown, why settle for ok.

A friend and I dined at Palomino last week and had a great dinner with possibly some of the worst service I've ever encountered in a nice restaurant. Our server came over soon enough and asked if we like drinks. My friend ordered a vodka and ginger ale, which came out just fine. I ordered a martini. That's when the first problem started. Our server couldn't seem to grasp what I was asking for. She finally took the order and eventually brought my drink back, but without the lemon twist I asked for. She blamed the problem on the bar tender and said she would get me one. I expected her to return with the lemon twist in a napkin or maybe on a plate. Nope - she was holding it in her hand and just dropped it in my drink. I remember exclaiming to my friend, "well at least it's going into alcohol, so I guess it will at least be sterilized". When she returned, we ordered our dinner. I asked about a couple of the pasta options. She recommended the Bolognese which was actually a fantastic recommendation. It was delicious. However when I asked our server what kind of pasta it came with, she replied, "ummm sausage I think". I clarified that I wanted to know what kind of pasta. She then said "ummmm it's fat - maybe linguine?" I told her that would be fine. It was actually rigatoni, which was also fine, but not at all like linguine. The whole time she was speaking with us, she was smacking gum. We noticed that she brought bread to the table next to us and we asked to have some as well. She agreed to bring some, but never did. We even asked a second time with no luck. It was at this point that I also noticed that I didn't have forks. My set up had a napkin and knife, but no forks, so I asked for that, three times. It just so happened that he stash of extra forks was right next to my friend. He offered to grab me one. I told him to wait and let's give her a chance to make it right - no luck. I finally had to ask the manager for a change in servers.

We went to Palomino for my mom’s birthday. All three of our entrées were delicious. My braised short rib had such a wonderful flavor and was slow cooked for hours. The cauliflower mashed potatoes were a nice alternative to the standard mashed potatoes. My mom and dad enjoyed their rotisserie chicken and pork chop as well. It’s a great atmosphere to celebrate a casual birthday with great food and drinks.

Wish it were better. Service good but food very mediocre. Tilapia over cooked and in more butter than imaginable. Asked for Caesar salad with light dressing. Came out drenched. Would not go back. Many better options in Indianapolis

Menu has changed so much. Do not like the cauliflower mashed potatoes. The pasta with the Parmesan Chicken doesn’t come with marinara sauce anymore. It has too much garlic and red pepper in it. I like spicy food but this was too much for me. The mushroom soup was still great and the bread and tomato relish was the same, good as usual. This restaurant used to be packed out on Fri and Sat nights. Last night there were only diners at about 8 tables. Change is not always good, stick with what people love. Bring back the regular mashed potatoes and the Parmesan Tilapia with Burre Blanc sauce.

we come here very frequently for personal and business reasons. this is the first time in 20 years i've had poor service even though the restaurant was not busy. however once the manager was informed, they stepped up and remedied the situation. the food was very good though the appetizers were cold.

We loved the food at Palominos. The service was noticeably slow, but we were not in a hurry. The food was truly outstanding. All of us were very happy with what we ordered. Our waiter was apologetic about being so slow, so at least he was aware that his service was not up to speed. We would definitely return ( hoping for a different server next time.)h

I was fairly disappointed with our experience(s) at Palominos. Each time I have gone something has gone wrong. Either the food was incorrect, service was slow, or the meal did not live up to the price tag. The staff was very nice, which helped. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant for the simple reason that I left there with below average experiences in downtown Indianapolis with a much thinner wallet.

Food was excellent, ambiance very good, noise not bad the only negative comment is about getting our drinks from the bar entirely to slow, I know it was a Friday night and place was packed but they need to do something, more bartenders on weekends and runners who only do drinks , our server was too busy to be running and checking if drinks were done at the bar, fix that and it’s 5 star all around

Had reservations for 5, entire place was empty, got sat at a table for 4. Asked to sit outside instead, no theres a 30 minute wait yet only 2 couples on patio. Had to pull teeth to move to a larger table. I enjoyed the food but service was frustrating. Would go again.

We were in from out of town for Red Bull air race. Had not made dinner reservations for Saturday night. Palomino is short walk from hotel with a menu to suit picky to more adventurous eaters. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner. Server was very helpful and meal was tasty. We'd go back.

This was our second time dining here. The food was very good, however our waiter continued to come back to our table asking if we were ready to order, when it was clear we weren't as we were still looking at the menus. We kept telling her we weren't ready, and she would say that's fine, but then return to the table shortly. Waiters should be trained to be able to tell when customers are ready to order, e.g. closed menu, making eye contact etc. We felt like she was rushing us, and that's not good. She also asked if we were going to want dessert when we hadn't even finished our meal. That's a real pet peeve of mine.
