Great experience again at this restaurant and was saddened to hear they are closing their doors next week. DJ was excellent and made the night memorable.
Sad the Seafood Louie salad gone and rest closing and not relocating.
The gluten-free pasta fruit de mare was fab! Thanks for using olive oil vs Alfredo
nice dinner at palomino...menu limited because it is closing later this month, and not moving to another cincinnati location. the building is largely vacant (tiffany's is relocating soon, macy's is gone already)...seems like owner/landlord wants to repurpose the space, so no lease renewal for the restaurant. it has gotten a little tired over the years, but we will miss the good food they have always served.
After hearing this restaurant was closing we decided to have one last dinner. In the past we have loved the food, service and view, so needless to say that is what made us want to come back. The view was great, but the food lack a little and the service was not outstanding.
We are very disappointed that they are closing. They were very accommodating but are out of some menu items.
This has a great view of Fountain Square, especially if you're fortunate enough to get a window table. The food, as usual, was very good. Too bad it will be closing the 21st. In talking to our waitress, she said the company had treated them very well. She had no complaints about them. Speaks for how good this company is & how they treat their employees. We will miss the Palomino Club.
Since they are closing this restaurant in 3 weeks, they are not keeping up with the menu. They are out of iced tea and not ordering any more???!!!
Similar issue with some of the food items - like their pizza.
Not sure what happened tonight. The restaurant was empty but it took 20 minutes to get drinks and 25-30 minutes to get our order in. For a group with four children, waiting for that long makes a meal very difficult. We indicated to the waiter up front that part of our group only had 60 minutes to eat prior to an event. By the time we got our food, my wife had 5 minutes to try and eat as much as she could before leaving. Quite an odd experience. Other meals here have been much more enjoyable.
We are so sad to know Palomino Cincinnati is closing. The moment I saw the notice, I made reservations for one last dinner. Our server, Mark, was fantastic, moving us to a window table when requested.
He was very friendly with service and suggestions.
It just so happened it was Restaurant Week, so I took advantage of the offer. I started with a Lavender Cosmo which was pretty and to my liking--not too, too sweet. I selected the mushroom soup--very thick and lots of mushrooms ; the dark meat chicken, with asparagus and cauliflower mashed potatoes--large portions of all 3, really tasty potatoes, crisp tender asparagus, crispy skin chicken; and my favorite--chocolate tiramisu. I considered taking home several servings to freeze for later, but after finishing my in house portion, I was satisfied :) My husband had salad and the scallops, which he very much enjoyed--mentioning them again the next day.
We've enjoyed many meals here and will definitely miss their presence on Fountain Square.
My birthday experience at Palominos was one to remember!!! They treated us so well, the food and desserts were amazing! Not to mention the view of fountain square...amazing!!!! !I am so sad that they are closing!
Sorry to see them leave Cincinnati
Terrible service and food. Explains why they are closing 1.21.18. 😔
Fantastic pizza + Pistachio ice cream
Haven't dined here for about ten years and saw a big change in the food and atmosphere. Server was very good but food was just ok. Disappointed since it is a very good location overlooking fountain square.
I've been to Palomino many times. This is the worst experience I've ever had. 15 minutes to see the waitress that I flagged down. Forgot the appetizer order. Took an hour to get 2 salads. Horrible!
It was great Austin was wonderful
Great waiters and food. Beautiful view through so many windows
Went there for a birthday dinner this past Sunday. Had Mark as our waiter. He made sure that everything went perfectly and made sure that we had an incredible time. He went out of his way to find a great bottle of wine off the menu for us and gave some recommendations for post-dinner activities. The food was excellent and it was a great experience.
We were longtime Palomino fans. Not any longer.
Service was poor. Not terrible but not up to par for our past experiences. Our server knew nothing of the specials other than there was a special menu available. From sit down to meal - we waited for 20 minutes for a glass of wine. We waited almost 40 minutes for entrees. This was shocking because the restaurant was mostly empty. Food was unimpressive. I tried the Halibut special - fish was dried out and curled on the corners as if it sat under a heat lamp waiting. Risotto “cakes” were tough and reminded me of fast food. We won’t be back... better, more reliable places downtown.
Had a wonderful meal overlooking Fountain Square. Food was excellent. Service good.
We have always enjoyed our meals at Palomino. This time was the worst experience we have ever had. The Crab Dip flatbread was stale making our favorite appetizer less than desirable. The two drinks from the bar were not only horrible but took forever to get. Considering the restaurant had less than 20 patrons, I’m not sure why they took so long except that they just didn’t care about their service. I had the Mahi Mahi which was so small it was maybe 4bites in total. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan. The spaghetti noodles were clumped together and the Chicken tasted freezer burnt. We wondered why the restaurant was so empty on a Friday night. With our experience we now understand why. This is saddens us as the Palomino was one of our favorite places to dine. Not sure if we’ll be back considering we spent $125 on an inedible meal and poor service. Cincinnati has too many new restaurants that are eager to serve us and deliver a great meal.
Our waiter person Mark was phenomenal. He doted on us and listened to our every request. Aside from the noisy tables of ten nearby...it was an idyllic night.
Great food and nice natural light
We were about 25 minutes late for our reservation and luckily they were still able to seat us when we arrived. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We had the halibut! They make a fantastic Lemon Drop Martini!
Fantastic! Our server is excellent! Fine dining at its best! Definitely going to dine there again! The Sicilian meatballs are excellent, the four cheese rotini is superb! The cream of mushroom soup is awesome! Great view of the square! If you haven’t been there, GO! You won’t be disappointed!
Service was great - attentive, but not intrusive. Excellent suggestions and food. Different and excellent drinks. Nice view of Fountain Square.
It wasn’t busy but service was very slow. Our waitress was great but the ambiance was odd... I would recommend not playing hits of the 2000’s but something a bit more classical. Music was super odd and distracting. Our food was delicious otherwise.
The service was a little erratic, but we were not in any hurry so it really did not bother us. Their specialty drinks were excellent and the food was fantastic.
We had an early dinner after the museum...the food was not cooked well and it is overpriced
The service was fine but when I told the server the potatoes were raw he only offered me more of the same---under cooked potatoes!!!!
The Palomino restaurant that I used to know seems to have disappeared into a very casual place. The host talks about the servers he's attracted to, the servers look scruffy and make superficial comments that indicate that they think they are being charming and appear to be working for their tips in an unrefined way. Our steaks were ordered medium rare, but one came out rare (cold red in the center) and the other came out medium (almost completely brown in the center). The second one came back still medium and no pinker than the first one. The tiramisu was smothered and swimming in a vanilla cream sauce that ruined the dessert - not elegant at all. The Nutella for the ricotta donut holes was scraped into the ramkin with a butter knife sloppily, so showed a lack of care for details that this restaurant once had. There are many signs that this is becoming a very tired and apathetic establishment.
We had a great time at Palomino. The food and service was excellent. The manager was friendly and accommodating.
The best do downtown restaurant
Two of us had over cooked steaks, and while they refired them the second time the food came out the sides were inedible. It also took almost 30 min to get a coke. Two other people's food was fine. Our waitress was not very attentive.
Excellent service and excellent food! Even when our dessert took a little longer than it should, they took it off the bill immediately. Will definitely want to come back!
Waitstaff was great. Friendly, attentive, kind. The food was good but very very salty.
Food was good, but Service was slow, with not a lot of patrons. Would give it another try, but reluctant.
Our server was real nice considerate and all around great. He even brought us out a complimentary desert for our anniversary. Overall great day and great memory.
The view really makes the restaurant, but I found the food to be nothing special. I got tea but my cup was very dirty. My appetizer, brussel sprouts, were incredible and a great recommendation by my waitress, but the sausage in my pasta seemed to be the kind that was frozen then reheated, it was very tough and my friend's rotisserie chicken, although a hefty amount, came with cauliflower mashed potatoes, but it was just regular potatoes. I believe this is the type of restaurant you have to order the right(best) food items to get the best experience.
The evening was most enjoyable. Our server was wonderful.
great food - excellent service & a view of fountain square which made it all worthwhile
