I ordered the scallops. They were fishy and tough. The risotto was fine. My husband ordered a sirloin which was also tough. Very overpriced for the quality of food.
Nice selection with lots of variety. Good views and good staff. Dinner was very good. Large portions.
This is a place I will never go back. While the service was good, that was the only positive. This restaurant is in a Macy’s! I had no idea when I made the reservation. This is not somewhere to go on a date or special occasion. The food was average (and I’m not a food snob) and the drinks were way too sweet to be considered a martini. While the location is good, I would eat somewhere else ten times over before I eat here again.
Our waiter Austion was great, he had several tables but checked in regularly. Our food and drinks were received in a timely manner and everything was delicious. We were not seating directly next to the Windows but still had a lovely view. I would recommend this restaurant .
The food is always pretty good here. On Saturday, I think the place was understaffed, as it took a while for the server, Austin, to reach our table and he was not back very often. I do not think it was his fault, the place was outmatched by patrons (perhaps Wine Festival last minute arrivals?). We had to request our check and hand him a credit card in order to move things along.
Great location, view & food for business meeting
I had a 7:00 reservation for 6.
I checked in at 6:30, then again about 6:45, and was not seated until 7:15.
What was the point of making a reservation with a wait like that???
There appeared to be many servers in the restaurant that evening but our service was not efficient (ie. poor drink service, soup brought out the wrong time, difficult to get our check)
My food was the bomb. Seriously amazing pasta. Unfortunately, the appetizer and my wife’s food came out cold. After mentioning to our waitress (who was great) that it was cold, they told us the reason was because the heat lamps weren’t working that well? Manager just seemed very condescending when they brought it out again and it was still lukewarm. Enough to warrant a one and done for us.
Good food. Excellent service and great atmosphere.
We come here quite often; the food is excellent. Their portobello mushroom soup and charred kale salad are two of our favorite appetizers. They do wonderful preparations with their seafood specials. This particular evening, there were several children during dinner, so it was quite noisy.
The food was great and plentiful. Our server did an outstanding job. We did not have to ask for anything. She was there to refill our glasses, clear the table and provide whatever we needed for a fantastic meal. We were going to the Aronoff for a show. She timed the dinner so we were not rushed but got to the theater on time.
We have dined here often. Always consistent.
Nice view of Fountain Square. Food was excellent. Service from DJ was perfect.
Pleasant evening. Solid dining experience.
Always excellent. Perfect for before a show.
For this being our first time, our waitress was outstanding. She was very helpful, explained the menu. Gave us her opinions on options. One of the best servers we have had anywhere.
We had a great window table and the service was great. We were headed to the Aronoff, and it worked out great for our schedule. We had a selection of entrees at our table and all were delicious!
We were headed t a show at the Aronoff for a special mother daughter night. They gave us a great window seat overlooking Fountain Square. The service was impeccable! And the food was priced well and delicious. Perfect spot to eat if heading out downtown.
We all 4 enjoyed our meal. Pizza is thin and flavorful. Pasta was wonderful. Only sub par item was blue cheese salad... lacking in blu cheese. Wednesday 1/2 price bottle wine is good value. Service excellent. Will definitely return.
I have been to different Palomino Restaurants in different States, always hoping that the good quality has changed. And NO, it has not. The service is the only saving factor. The food is equal to a run-of-the-mill pizza store. I can get better food in a grocery store. They really need to change up their menu and increase the quality of their food 100%.
Pretty disappointed. Sat us at a table and 5 minutes later we were asked to move to another table so a bigger party could sit. No big deal, we got a table by the window so can’t complain about that. Came to celebrate a birthday. Waited 1.5 hours for our food and soup wasn’t even luke warm and Caesar salad had so much salad dressing couldn’t even eat it. We tolerated that. Then the filet was over cooked, yes that happens.. understandable. The waitress sent it back and manager came to apologize which we appreciated. I had my food ate and we waited some more and my husband was still was waiting on his food. After waiting 1.5 hours already and nothing seemed to go right we asked for our bill and left. Not sure why it took so long, didn’t even seem to be super busy. No birthday dinner for my husband and I ate pretty much ate alone. But the manager did offer my husband a piece of cake. No thanks. Won’t be back.
I was in from Chicago and enjoyed a great night out with my mom, who can't stop talking about how fabulous our evening was. Food and service was excellent! Will be going back again when I am back in town.
Let me start by saying we typically loved this place. My wife and I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. I know that sometimes things just don't work out, but last night was really hard to ignore. Our waitress, Arwa was either new or just not good. She forgot things that we asked for and even a simple glass of wine and beer took 15 minutes on not so busy night. We ordered 3 rounds, you do the math.
The food, is typically delicious and my wife and I have very similar tastes. We both ordered the Fettuccini De Mar and we were both extremely disappointed. The noodles were over done and scallops were way under cooked. Needless to say, we are saddened by the night.
For the cost of the night we probably would have had better service and food at applebees.... Just Sad.
Food was okay. Service was wonderful.
Even though we showed up 10 minutes early for our reservation, we weren’t seated for 30 minutes. Meanwhile the host sat at least 5 other couples in front of us. The filet and lobster being served as part of the Valentines Day prix fixe menu we’re both huge letdowns. As was the flourless chocolate cake dessert. At least the salad was nice and the server was great.
If you're planning a romantic dinner for Valentine's Day - go elsewhere. For dropping $140, yes ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS on their Valentine's day dinner for two, my girlfriend and I both left hungry and unhappy. The salad appetizer was really lame and didn't even have the cranberries or walnuts as advertised. The pasta was pretty watery and the shrimp was very overcooked and chewy. The "chocolate cake" was anything but exciting. My girlfriend and I both agreed it was about the quality of a Wal-Mart brand box of brownies just presented nicely with a couple dollops of raspberry jelly (also found at Wal-Mart). I have NEVER been so regretful in picking a restaurant to eat at, especially considering it was Valentine's day. You could basically go to ANY other restaurant in Cincinnati, Olive Garden included, and spend 1/3 (no joke) of the price and get a meal 3x as good/filling. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Service was very slow albeit it was Valentine’s Day. I had a steak. It was just fine. My wife had the short ribs and she said they were great. Our server was very pleasant but, I believe, had too many tables. I ordered a glass of wine before we ordered our entrees and it arrived after I had finished eating my meal. I definitely expect slow service, etc. on Valentine’s Day but this was worse than that. The chocolate cake was excellent though!
Great Valentines Day lunch! Staff was excellent!
Everything was great except for the slow service. Took a long time to get our dinner. We were there a total of 2.5 hrs. Our reservation was for 8:30 and it was not very crowded so not sure why the main course took so long. Filets were a little under cooked as well but still good.
Great Tirasmsu💕 The only negative thing is they dont have potatoes (except fries and cauliflower mashed potatoes). Great waiter, great food, great view!
Great service very friendly few were set in the back by the window I think the waitress was katylin not certain however she made my birthday extremely special great service friendly and very attentive to our needs
Food service was very slow.
The server was not completely familiar with the menu nor the selection of alcoholic beverages.
Food preparation was excellent.
Drink portions were excellent.
Great kids menu.
The restaurant was very noisy and a conversation was difficult.
Everything was perfect!
Dinner was delicious. Once we got our appetizer and order placed for the main course it felt as if we lost our server. They tried to bring the entrees before the salads. Once everything was figured out we did have an excellent meal. I️ would definitely dine here again
My husband and I both ordered fish. His salmon had no flavor and my Maui Maui was over cooked. It’s a shame. I’ll never be able to talk him into going again.
Drinks and appetizers were delicious. Try the lavender cosmo!
The manager was on point..we we're very impressed. Service otherwise was just average. Our server maybe had too many tables. The food was good, but not great..not what I expected for an upscale restaurant.
Our work team gathered at Palomino’s for a good-bye lunch for one of our team members. The Palomino staff was very accommodating for our group of 16. We had a whole section of the restaurant dedicated to just us, so it felt very private. We were able to order from the regular menu and with separate checks. Our server was friendly, fast and efficient. Our food was served quickly, correctly and was most delicious. A great time was had by all! Thank you Palomino’s for an outstanding experience!
We participated in Palomino's educator appreciation weekend special, with a 3-course meal for $25 per person from a prix fixe menu. The mushroom soup was delicious, the chop-chop salad is always a favorite, and the steak frites and rigatoni bolognese were also delicious, with enough to take some home for lunch the following day. The fig gelato was a really unique taste - one of us liked it and the other did not. The tiramisu was disappointing - a bit on the dry side and not very flavorful in our opinions. The service, atmosphere, and drink selection were absolutely fantastic, and I will definitely return to Palomino in the future! Thanks for recognizing educators!
