This wonderful restaurant continues to wow! While the menu has now gone to smaller plates, the high quality ingredients, beautiful presentations and creative food preparations remain the same. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch -- attentive, pleasant and helpful. The dining room is pretty with tables laid out well. This is my go-to when friends come in from out of town -- particularly sophisticated foodies.
The food is amazingly good and inventive! The staff is wonderful! You MUST put Paloma on the top of your "to do" list!
We had been at this restaurant before and had guest here from Madison, Wisconsin and they were intrigued by the French/Mexican cuisine. We knew what to expect, and knew we were not going to be disappointed. The meal was an amazing experience. the food, the service the owners explanation of the fusion. Highly recommend this restaurant for a high end culinary experience. The fact that they are a BYO makes it even better, we even brought after dinner liquor
Excellent food, great atmosphere (quiet enough to hold a conversation), knowledgeable and helpful service, BYOB, top notch chef. Save room for the desserts made by the chef's wife - another great talent in the house! Menu consists of about 15-20 "small plates" that can be combined to form a meal or there are 4 entrees (priced in the $30's) that range from fish to steak to lamb.

I have been to this restaurant close to 20 times and always the best food in the city. Got the new Gnocchi appetizer... a must try if you go. You can not go wrong with ANY of the menu options.
There were 3 in our dining party. We all had small bites to start in addition to main entrees. The food was delicious, Mexican cuisine with a French twist. The service was perfect, staff attending to our needs without intrusion. The ambiance was quiet, a welcome surprise after experiencing the usual loud noise when dining out.
Three couples that meet about every six weeks to have good quality food, pleasant and quiet atmosphere.

Paloma has the perfect combination between innovation and traditional flavors. You feel the love and passion the chef puts into these dishes! They have small plates and entrees, we went for four small plates, and the saffron rice (my husband and I) it was delicious!!! You cannot leave without trying the mushroom flan (exquisite!) and dessert is a must!!! (We usually never have dessert, but after trying the perfect combination of flavors during dinner, dessert is a decision without second thoughts) if you love spicy, you have to try the mango habanero sorbet.
Besides the amazing food, service was exceptional!!! Barb is the owner with her husband and she makes the desserts, she even came to our table and talked to us about how they bring their ingredients from Mexico and the Caribbean, about how she came up with the ideas for dessert, and about her experience with Mexican salsas!!! She was just lovely, you could totally see her passion and love for the restaurant and dishes.
I Totally totally recommend this place, for special occasions, dates, birthdays, or even just for dessert... it is amazing!!! Oh and they're BYOB ❤️

The food is fantastic.
This restaurant consistently turns out some of the most flavorful, creative, well-balanced, and unique dishes available anywhere. Being a byob makes it a bargain. The tables are set well-apart; the service is personal with as much or as little interaction as you invite; the portions, albeit they have adopted a smaller plate format, are generous but not overwhelming. During the week, it is never crowded -- quite the opposite -- and on weekends the ambiance is still conducive to conversation. We have taken first time diners there on several occasions and all proclaimed themselves very happy and very impressed and refer to their meal as memorable.
The food was absolutely amazingly !! There was 4 of us for dinner and we all agreed this is a gem of a restaurant!!! I can not wait to go back. Also, it's a byob which is so great.
We looked at Paloma's posted Fall menu during a walk in our neighborhood. It was interesting and unusual. We had not read any reviews or heard word of mouth about the restauarant.
We're so glad that we made the decision to have dinner there.
The service was lovely. Attentive and informative without being invasive. The decor is subtle yet artistic. Unlike so many places, the noise level allowed easy conversation.
and the food! It was fabulous! We shared the incredible corn chowder and 3 "small" plates- crab cake , branzino and wild boar. That was more than adequate leaving room for coffee and dessert. Lime tequila cake with coconut icing and a chocolate orange layer cake. Both choices were plate scraping good!
We plan to return once the Winter selections are available. And probably then the Spring and Summer!

Barb is an outstanding hostess and creates the most extraordinary desserts! Wedge is a fantastic server although that does not describe her role adequately!

I visited Paloma with my boyfriend after reading generally excellent reviews on OpenTable. The menu, was new that week, and contained a couple of dishes not on the online menu, but fortunately, all those we had looked forward to sampling were present, as were a couple of exciting sounding additions. The staff were very attentive, and we went along with their recommendation of 3 small plates per person and shared all 6 dishes. Each dish was magnificent and none disappointed. The cuisine is a French-Mexican hybrid and of very high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed each course and were well-satisfied with the portions received. I would certainly recommend Paloma to Philadelphians and those visiting the city. As a side note, there is no alcohol list but BYOB is welcomed.
Wonderful new menu that started this week. Many new small plates added. Great service and upscale white table cloth experience without being stuffy. Chef is genius with combining European style cooking with unique Mexican ingredients. Think Mexico City, not Tiajuana.

Our favorite restaurant in Philly! Delicious food and the best waitstaff in the country!
We use to enjoy Paloma when they were located in N E Philadelphia. This is our first time to their downtown location. What a treat. Barbara, the hostess, Chiefs wife and pastry chief greeted us like old friends and regulars. Their new location looks nice inside and out, comfortable with space around your table. Parking is difficult so consider taking a train or parking in a garage on Walnut St and taking Uber. Now to the reason to try Paloma. The food is great. In the past they were considered one of the few five star restaurants in Phila and nothing has changed. Subtle flavors, unique spices and beautiful presentation is what to expect. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the meal. And don't forget to try desert. Again unique selections, flavors and sorbet that rocks. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Everything was excellent from all the appetizers we ordered to the beautiful tasty entrees and of course everyone knew to save room for the delicious made on premises desserts.
Favorite dish was my sorbet. Mushroom flan had great flavor but undercooked, shrimp appetizer just tasted like plain shrimp, stripe bass had zero flair, and stuffed veal chop was over cooked.
Service and food always the best. This week was particularly delicious.
This place should be the hottest ticket in-town--more than Zahav & Vetri. Adan is a genius! Every dish is a Mondrian painting- a work of art!! Where else can you have French-Mexican cuisine?! His wife, Barb, makes all of the sorbets, cakes, & gelatos herself. Another genius!! Everything is cooked to perfection and if you have ANY food allergies of any kind, menu items are adjusted!
Always a great meal. Husband owner is extremely creative chef. Wife does all desserts. Never had anything but great food there.

The food at Paloma is inventive and excellent. I describe it to friends as high French with chilies. There's no reason to worry about spice there are dishes at every level from mild to hot and they're all wonderful! Every dish was both beautifully presented and flat-out extraordinary. The desserts are excellent as well. Come visit this hidden gem!

Paloma is a favorite! Barb, Paloma's hostess and dessert creator is wonderful! Her desserts are my favorites in Philly and her house made sorbets are out of this world. A warm. welcoming atmosphere envelops you; I never want to leave.
Paloma is also a BYOB...can you ask for anything more?!

Service was bad, one server in a fracture boot for Friday night. Decor was old. Food was excellent and loved the Mexican/French fusion. A shame but won't go back due to service and ambiance .
Don't get fooled by the exterior of the building. BYOB with pleasant dining area and Mexican inspired menu with French twist. Monday through Thursday give the Prix Fix a look.
