What a hidden gem! Charming, great service, and absolutely delicious. We loved everything we ate--the avocado and tortilla, fish and plantain, skirt steak, bread pudding, and tres leches. I love bread pudding and this was among the best I have ever had. The skirt steak dish was incredible, the meat so tender and flavorful. We will be back again soon!
We had a light dinner at palo santo before going to a performance. The food and sangria were excellent! We had fish tacos, pork tacos, coconut and plantain stew and cornflake fried chicken with yucca fries. Everything was so delicious - the only exception was the yucca fries which I expected would be better. But forget the fries! The flavors, textures and freshness of everything was fantastic! Looking forward to going again soon!
Nice and cozy! I would recommend for a quick bite with someone special. Would definitely go back.
Had a blast at Palo Santo! The food was incredible! Super cute atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food at Palo Santo is delicious, from the presentation of the plates to the flavor of the ingredients, it all combines beautifully. They also have incredible house-made tortillas and tacos. The menu is diverse. My friends all tried different plates and were very satisfied.
What a nice little neighborhood gem. Palo Santo has a simple menu but with something that will please everyone. I had the vegetarian option (I believe it is vegan) which was a delicious plantain stew. I believe their menu changes with the availability of fresh ingredients and fresh it was! The decor and ambience was Latin smooth and would make a great date dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Staff very friendly. Food was very tasty and great ambiance.highly recommend
This is an adorable restaurant tucked away off Park Slope, offering a brand new menu, everything made from scratch. If you are tired of traditional "Mexican" then get ready to indulge in the home-made mini tortillas and avocado slices with home-made hot sauce that's not too spicy. Or enjoy a sparking hibiscus drink with sparkling wine. All of the tables are graced with candles featuring different Catholic Saints, that adds a delightful warm charm. The desserts were out of this world delicious.
Since everything is made on the premises the prices are a bit higher, but it's so worth it!
Went for Valentines day, absolutely delicious food and great ambiance. Hello 2 glasses of champagne while waiting for our table
Very delicious food! The vibe was nice, and the staff was very friendly.
Took my daughter here for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We always love coming here. The food is amazing, and the service can't be beat. They just can't do enough for you. A very special place!
I've gone to palo santo many times, the food and the service are always excellent.
Amazing food and ambiance. So happy I chose this place for my 30th birthday date night out.
We were treated like royalty- complimentary champagne cocktail and gourmet taco. The main meat was delectable and then they served a special dessert for us that they created as a surprise along with a glass of complimentary port - wine drink from a special small scale bottler.
It was the best meat I have had in recent memory and made for a very special occasion.
I booked this restaurant for 5 couples for New Year's Eve. I can't recall the menu, it was a 7-course meal that included fish, pork, chicken and some other things, including dessert. Everything was very tasty although with so many courses the portions were small. The food was rich so everyone was full. The wines that accompanied the courses was not as good as the food. Service was good, then seemed to fall off near the end but on the whole it was a nice experience. I would go back again for a regular meal.
Best restaurant in Park Slope Brooklyn Best staff!
Great food and service. However, I was seated by the door in 10 degree weather which was the only negative thing.
This has remained our favorite local restaurant for many years. The owner and staff give each of our dinners there their personal touch with a warm welcome, great food, and great service. Everyone we have brought there to join us loves it too!
Excellent! Went fora birthday, the food was creative and delicious, the service supremely friendly. I recommend Palo Santo
Have been going to Palo Santo for years and have always loved it. Last two visits have been disappointing and I doubt we’ll be back. Mostly service related issues - food was still good.
This was a great place for our Thanksgiving meal. The menu offered something for everyone. The food was tasty and fresh and the portions just right. Service and ambiance were also great. I would recommend Palo Santo for both everyday and special occasion dining.
My friends and I meet up for a monthly brunch or dinner date just to catch up and I chose this spot since I always have a great time here with my date. And it continues to not disappoint. Our waiter Zachariah was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable of the menu and he gave us great recommendations, very attentive and energetic. You can tell he really enjoys his job and is so personable. He was everything and more I look for in a great waiter. We will definitely come back here for another get together. The desserts were on point. The papaya sorbert was a little spicy which was a nice surprise, the tres leches was so moist, the chocolate torte was deliciously chocolatey and if you love pumpkin, I would definitely recommend the pumpkin roll, not overpowering at all and not overly sweet. I also highly recommend the Michelada and the Sangria.
I had dinner at Palo Santo 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night. I loved the entrance of the restaurant, it looks like a brownstone that was turned into an apartment. The ambiance was exactly what I was going for - a good setting for a romantic dinner. The back of the restaurant was pretty empty, but I was fine with that. The waitress and the other servers were very attentive. The food was great - no complaints with that. All in all, it was an excellent experience and I'd highly recommend Palo Santo to others.
Prior to making reservations for a friend's Birthday dinner, I didn't realize I ate at Palo Santo last year for my Birthday. It was great last year, and great for my recent visit!
Marley was our server and had a pleasant personality. The entire staff was patient and kind. I arrived on time for the reservations, but my friends didn't lol. I didn't feel rushed, I ordered some apps (avocado + tortillas) and really got a good look at the spot. We were seated in the back area, which I wasn't aware they had. Really cozy and chill spot.
The menu was great...there is a pre-fix menu...and everyone was able to choose something to their liking. Sangria was awesome too! Really, just an overall amazing night.
I had the fish w/ plantain + red cabbage for my entree. Pretty tasty although the fish was a tad bit salty, otherwise a pretty good meal. I wasn't overstuffed and felt satisfied!
I'd def return to try other items.
This is a great place. Very nicely done with excellent food. The prix-fixe is a good deal also.
Whenever we come here the really outstanding thing is the service. I’m not sure how it happens, but they have the friendliest, nicest most helpful waiting staff anywhere in Brooklyn and pretty much always have had despite changes in personnel. Something for other places to learn from.
Everything we ordered at this cozy neighborhood bistro in a brownstone was tasty, from the Caldo verde and shaved chayote salad and empanadas to the pistachio sundae. Unfortunately we were not hungry enough to order an entree, so we will have to go back. The server and other staff were very friendly and the dining area attractive. Reasonably priced.
The ambiance is sweet and charming. The waiter was very attentive and accommodating. We also enjoyed the food dishes which were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I love Palo Santo! This was my second visit, and the food was outstanding. The waitstaff was the perfect level of attentive without hovering - we always had what we needed, but never felt rushed. I've been here both to celebrate my sister's engagement, and more recently to catch up with an old friend. It's both a perfect spot for celebrations and quieter meals, and a true Park Slope gem.
Palo Santo is a unique gem of a restaurant. An island of relaxed time in a hectic city. The food is superb, and the ambiance is warm and inviting.
Tacos were fantastic! Great food all around.
Their happy hour drink with a free taco might be the best... but the entrees killed it as well. Great flavors and choice of ingredients!
This is a hidden gem in Park Slope. Comfortable atmosphere, very creative and beautifully executed spin on South American cuisine. Everything, appetizers to desert, were stunning. As long time Park Slope foodies, my bride and I find this to be one the most consistently rewarding and innovative restaurants in the area.
I was meeting with my friend who is vegetarian.
She had her birthday and we wanted to meet
For a pleasant and relaxing dinner. She lives in the area but never heart about this restaurant. The food was good with nice presentation. The place was quite and cozy, comfy for relaxation and conversation. Overall experience was pleasant.
The staff was extremely courteous, and the food was very tasty. One of their great perks, on Tuesday is that you get a taco for every drink you order. Moreover, the restaurant has a quiet table outside where you can go and sit by a quiet stream and talk. It made for a wonderful scenic and intimate date.
The fish and the squash salad was delicious. I really enjoyed the food - I really like this place.
My favorite restaurant! Always fresh and always new things to try! Love introducing to all my friends and family!
What a treat! I was really impressed by this place that I've passed by for about 7 years - I just wasn't sure it was a restaurant! A coworker recommended it and I had always been curious. It's so warm and cozy inside and the back window view with the small fountain was lovely. The food was so fresh and had obviously been prepared with a loving touch. I'm bringing everyone I know here!
One of the best meals I've had in a long time! There was a nice mix or new and old on the menu, all done exceptionally well. We will be back
As frequent visitors to Mexico and having experienced the finest Mexican cuisine, in just over 60 mins Palo Santo transported us 3000 miles and served up some of the most authentic and extraordinary Mexican fare we've had this side of the border. Try the Plantain Relleno, Mushroom Quesadilla and the unmatched Mole Duck Breast. Bread pudding and Tapioca sorbet for dessert.
Very fresh Latin food. Loved my shrimp ceviche. My friend had the tuna and that was quite delicious too.
