I have visited Palmers many times. The food is amazing, the servers are pleasant and attentive.
But the service tends to be slow. You will wait 15-30 minutes after your reservation time for a table, and you must allow 2 to 2.5 hours for dinner.
Make sure there are no private parties booked when you go as this caused us to wait 45 mins for a table WITH a reservation. The French Martinis were just what the doctor ordered. Escargot was in need of garlic but the Sea Scallops and Fish entrees were AMAZING! Creme brûlée and chocolate lava cake were yum! Desserts and appys were on the house due to the wait. Would definitely come back!
Food was delicious, service was very attentive without rushing us, ambiance is great because it is not too loud and tables are not on top of each other.
The meal was great. I was taking my guest out for her birthday. While noted when I made the reservation, nothing was said when we arrived or at the table. When we arrived, I told them we had a reservation but they told us to just go into the dining room and seat ourselves. Service was very slow, but the food was excellent. I consider the service issue to be an aberration. The dining room eventually got pretty crowded and there was a large party (more than 10) already seated when we arrived. There was only 1 waitress. She did a great job, but I suspect it was hard on her as well as the kitchen. It wasn't an issue for us as we were in no hurry. I will definitely go back. The food was great. We had salads and sandwiches.
Maybe because it was a Mon. night, but the food and service was fabulous. This was our first time here and it won't be the last. Food was well prepared and nicely presented. The service was polite and efficient. Lastly, the prices were OK, and the ambiance was very comfortable.
Excellent food, excellent service
Best seared tuna I’ve had in a long time
Steak was fantastic too.. nothing was too saucy or flashy... just great food and attentive service.
Ambiance a little dated
We had a great time until open table sent me an email saying I did not make my reservation and I should of cancelled but I was there at 645 ate and was out by 815 so I have no idea what they are talking about otherwise dinner was great food and all thank you
I had really been looking forward to having beef Wellington for the first time and was anxiously awaiting our reservation. Unfortunately I had To send mine back TWICE, as the first time my beef was almost rare (had ordered medium) and the puff pastry was raw and goopy in spots. They re-fired it and when I got It back the beef was so over cooked and somehow the puff pastry was STILL raw. I ended up just ordering the duck instead which was just ok. The crab cake appetizer was good but I found A piece of shell in it, and the ‘angels on horseback’ app was greasy.
The waitress was very nice and apologetic but I thought that the owner should have come over to apologize or offer some sort of compensation. They didn’t charge me for the beef (which I would Expect) but sending over something while I waited for My new entre would have been nice.
Overall I thoughtThat the food was not worth the price and probably won’t go back again.
The steak special was fantastic.
Service was great, great wine and food was good
Palmers is consistently good
Everything is well prepared and comes out exactly as you order.
It is a big place so good for larger groups
Palmers remains on our list of go to places
Celebrated a delayed Valentines Day.
Palmer's never disappoints. The food is always great, I especially like the skirt steak. To me it's like a neighborhood place with a lot of class.
I had tuna for dinner and it was delicious. It was served thinly sliced with rice and vegetables. After dinner we went to the bar and listening to a live music. It was a fun evening and a vibrant bar scene.
Always a delicious meal from here. Great music in the bar area to enjoy for an after dinner drink!
Great service, food was great with nice portions. we could actually hear each other speak which was nice. I like the set up of the bar , how it was separated but accessible.
It was a great experience I was able to share with dear friends. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The ahi tuna was absolutely divine according to my friend Maureen. I have to say my Cosmopolitan was a beautiful smith drink. It was really special.
Had a very nice dining experience here a few weeks ago with some friends. The service was great and the food delicious. Highly recommend the scallops.
Excellent service food and atmosphere. Made my wife's birthday very special. Thanks for the glass of wine!
Bought a groupon second visit great food great service
It was restaurant week. The menu had good choices. The portions were a good size. The service was excellent. I look forward to going back.
The restaurant was very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation. This is unfortunate. However the food and service was good!
Great date night.. excellent service... excellent food.. excellent drinks
We love Palmer’s! The food is excellent, the service is outstanding & the atmosphere is wonderful.
Food was excellent. We shared the escargot and stuffed mushroom appetizers. Then we shared our dinners. We had the beef Wellington which was cooked to perfection which came with the most delicious mashed potatoes and the Basa fillet which was out of this world. Food presentation was spot on. Excellent date night. We will be back
We tried this restaurant out for Long Island Restaurant week. The parking lot was jam packed (the restaurant admittedly booked a comedy show the same night as busy restaurant week). The bar drinks took forever to come and the mojito was expensive and watered down. The menu is limited for vegetarians with only 1 entree not containing meat (sweet potato gnocci) which was too dense and borderline inedible. The server asked if we enjoyed the meal, I said I did not (as I barely touched my food), but no effort was made to rectify anything. Will not be returning.
We celebrated a birthday and engagement
I had a 7pm reservation and wasn’t seated until 7:45pm. The waitress was very good and apologetic. The food was excellent and my family enjoyed it also.
We had a great time at Palmer's. The food and service were very good. The pasta dish served with shrimp and crumbled sausage was awesome. On Fridays they have live music.
Greatest Food was exquisite. Service great. I had a lovely time. Really enjoyed it
Wednesday night Steak Night special was very good.
Great food cute little spot. Very date appropriate and classy. The seafood crepes were to die for although the swordfish was a little under-wowing. Definitely going to go for the sea scallops instead next time. Oh and don’t skip the bread because the homemade maple butter is like nothing you have ever tasted before!
I always enjoy going to Palmers whether for a romantic dinner or a large family gathering. The food is awesome! For Christmas the decor is always beautiful and ambiance festive. Staff is excellent and owners always attentive. I rate it a 10 of 10. I recommend highly.
Great dinner. Beef wellington was excellent. My chicken dish was good too. Not as good as the wellington. Spinach was bland. Fries are great. Overall food is good though. Abe, our server, was outstanding. Good personality plus unobtrusive. Wondeful. 5 stars bc of him. Rest of place is great too but he made our night. Thank you.
Have had much better experiences with the food and the service at Palmers. Tables much too close together for comfort, seems they want to fit every person they can in the dining area.
Very disappointed. Overcrowded and loud. Table was set for 2 we were 4. No menus and missing a chair. Service was subpar. I will not going to Palmers again for New Years eve.
Nice ambience. Great service but my steak had to be sent back. Medium-well seems to be a problem in the kitchen.
Food was amazing, server was so nice and very professional, everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Good size portions, nice decor, we really enjoyed dining at Palmers and would recommend it to others.
Restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night. Probably because of the over priced menu.
If you want a Skirt steak that is priced like it comes from a fine NY steakhouse but is as chewey as a piece of gum, this is the place for you.
Great food especially the skirt steak. Service is good and ambience is nice. Can be noisy when crowded. They have Ladies Night with special pricing and a steak night.
