TERRIBLE!!! Sad food! Sad ambiance! Terrible untrained service.
Food not consistent. Liked fois gras but tiny portion. Cheese ok. The duck breast disappointing. Tasted like liver! Expect a better sauce from French restaurant.
The service was excellent but very few customers that evening. Ambiance nice.
I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating and gracious. When we were done dining, we were enjoying the place so much that we didn’t realize it was closing. The staff never once pressured us to leave. Thank you for your understanding!
Beautiful place, very good service, good quality of food but portions are to little. To expensive for the quantity they serve.
Good food and service but the chairs were so uncomfortable that it ruined the experience.
My niece came out of town visiting us. We are loved it.
Truly an enjoyable dinning experience. Where else can one have the atmosphere of days gone by than at the Biltmore Hotel. Highly recommended.
Overall the food is still very good and happy to report that the portion are now a bit bigger . They had gotten to the point that they were microscopic ! The service was good but not what it use to be 10-15 years ago . The restaurant seems dated and tired and I have to wonder how much longer it will be around . I’ve been to Palm d’Or many times over the years and while it’s still good , it is no longer the grande dame of French cuisine in Miami.
Amazing food, exceptional service and wonderful vibe! One of the very best in Coral Gables!
Duck way overcooked foie gras ridiculously small portion and overcooked
We dined here on our first night at The Biltmore. The food was divine and the service was superb. I highly recommend the duck.
Wife BD, excellent food and service.
Perfect amazing service
Aside from the attentive waitresses and the fact that it's located at the Biltmore, there is really nothing remarkable about this restaurant... the prawns were disgusting, the $50 + steak was blah... the atmosphere was that of an old / worn out hotel restaurant... Get with the times people! a $350 dinner for two... a total insult..!
No volveríamos.
The young woman who runs the cheese cart is amazing.
I visited this place during a trip to Miami and enjoyed the experience very much. The ambiance here was very quiet and service was great. They provided decent French cuisine although there were some misses too.
We ordered the chef's tasting menu for $49 with the $10 added on for octopus. We also ordered the Wagyu filet mignon and the hamachi appetizer.
Here comes the comments on food:
- Brioche was okay, but butter was served too cold.
- The chef sent us a tuna tartare, which had amazing taste. Tuna was marinated just about right and it was so fresh and flavourful. It went well with the deep fried crunchy something.
- The hamachi appetizer was presented beautifully like a piece of art, and tasted very refreshing. I personally thought it would be even better if they put more pears to balance out the sourness.
- The octopus was great, with soft texture and yummy sauce.
- The Branzino was a little bit dry, but tasted okay.
- The Wagyu came from a local farm in Florida. I enjoyed the sauce and cooking skills, but could never understood dry aged Wagyu. In my opinion, one important reason that Wagyu outperformed normal beef was its fatty and tender texture of the meat. However, this piece of dry aged Wagyu lost so much water in the process and tasted too dry. I didn't like the fact that the menu did not show it was dry aged. I would have not ordered the dish if that was the case.
- The hazelnut chocolate tasted rich and creamy. I enjoyed it a lot.
The server was patient to answer our questions related to the dishes and provided great service. Note that 20% service surcharge was already included in the bill.
I would definitely consider revisiting this place if I'm in Miami again.
Palme d'Or is verrryyy much recommended. The service is very friendly and very welcoming. The food is amazinggg and super tasty. Absolutely nothing bad about and will totally come back and recommend to everyone
Service and food were incredible
Palme d’Or never disappoints. Starting from the service, ambiance and of course the food. It is always an experience.
Sad to see you guys pass up on the 7 course meals. Don’t see you guys recovering from the change in chef move. Probably won’t come back. Sorry. Used to be our special occasion place. Not worth it
Great food, excellent customer service
Not worth the price.
We love the Palme d'Or and are delighted that it now has such a terrific 3 course menu. Although it costs a little more than Miami Spice, it's still a great value and has all the superb quality, wonderful service and delightful ambience of the Palme d'Or of old.
Terrible food. Place is dated and very expensive for the value and quality. Overrated stay away
I went to Jules Verne restaurant in Paris. Best restaurant ever. Portions small like most French restaurants but Palm D’or fish was microscopic
Best Langoustine soup ever
Great chef just portions are very very very small
Un restaurant sofisticado, elegante, excelente presentacion y sabor de los platos!! Esmerada atenciòn y muy buena carta de vinos!!!
Wonderful experience and service. The presentation of the food is as extraordinary as the food itself.
We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 16 years , and have NEVER been disappointed. The food was Great , very very slow service & they knew it . First time this restaurant was not a home run . We will still be back though.
It has always been the restaurant in Miami since I started eating there. Years ago, the second to last Chef before the present one prepared the best sequence of three dishes I have ever had: A tartine with bellota ham, pieces of terrine de foie gras and fresh figs, a black truffle risotto, and a duck magret " Apicius".
Mr. Pugin often achieved flashes of brilliance, including the most memorable venison ever, but the last time my friends and I ate his six course tasting menu, every dish was absolute perfection. our praise was so effusive that he came out to greet us and we had the honor of meeting the gentleman. I am baffled how his ex-sou chef has taken over as Chef de Cuisine cooking at the very same level where he left off.
The Michelin guide only awards one star at a time unless they have just begun to cover a whole new region. If it ever starts to rate restaurants in Miami, all this restaurant needs is a more ample amuse bouche offering to achieve an immediate 3 star rating.
As usual a great experience.
Great food with affordable menus for the quality.
Great service, rich wine list making a great experience overall.
Was ok. Need some french accent in service & cuisine. Need a more authentic cuisine with a french twist!...
Get some real french baguette!
The food was excellent, but the portions were a bit on the small side... that being said, if we could afford it, we'd be back next week!!
Elegant atmosphere with a casual feel. Portions were small
Went for Miami Spice. The menu was included with the regular menu without having to ask for it, and the wait staff actually encouraged it. Were seated promptly at a table facing the pool. The restaurant is old world elegant in style. Multiple servers took care of us, starting with water, drinks, and then The food order. We had the shrimp - 3 large Madagascar shrimp over tabouleh - and beet salad - several different types of beets with goat cheese. Both were excellent. For entrees we had the lamb paccheri pasta - very creamy and tasty, and the beef tenderloin - a decent size piece of perfectly cooked, tender meat with various vegetables. For dessert we had the cream puff - a profiterole with vanilla cream and a caramel center - and the chocolate cake. Both were excellent although not as sweet as expected. I would go with the cream puff. We then received an additional dessert - 4 small bite size cookies (macaroon, chocolate, etc). We did not experience any of the complaints noted by other reviewers (bad table, small portions, attitude because of ordering from the Spice menu instead of the regular one, etc). Everything was excellent from the setting (although the lights could have been dimmed a bit), the service, and most importantly the food.
My only comment would be that the service was a little "robotic", meaning functional, but not really warm or personal, which is different from the service elsewhere at the Biltmore. We also noted that it was our Anniversary at the time we made our reservation, but this was not recognized in any way.
Superb service and excellent food are the norm here. I had a birthday bouquet delivered for my wife and they made sure to have it waiting at our table when we arrived. We have been coming here for years and will continue coming.
Went for Miami spice. Food and service were both good but wasn’t spectacular. A bit too expensive for the overall dining experience.
I do not have enough words to describe the quality of the Food, Service and ambiance here. My teenagers selected this restaurant to take me for my birthday and it could not have been a better choice. We greeted by the most pleasant hostess. The service from our Waitress Rosemary B. was one of if not THE BEST I have had. She was amazing, conversed with the Teens, explained the menu and recommended a lovely wine for me. We had the Miami Spice Menu and every course out did the one before.....EVERYTHING WAS GOOD including the portions. A little special birthday greeting accompanied my dessert. The experience could not have been better. The Biltmore & their restaurants never disappoint.. from my days at the University of Miami to now. I Will continue going back !!!
