I don't think that I could have enjoyed this restaurant more. We went for Valentine's Day and had the pleasure of enjoying a very diverse menu. It was supposed to be (5) courses with a dessert but by the end it was about (9) courses. We had caviar, black truffle, scallops, filet, (3) desserts, lobster, SO MUCH FOOD! The service was impeccable and our server Jose was very attentive. The only cons were that we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table even with a reservation and the courses had long waiting period in between a few of them. Our reservation was for 8:30 but we didn't leave until midnight. This restaurant is extremely pricey so get ready to spend some cash but enjoy a great atmosphere and food.
If you ever think what a perfect evening would be like. Just go here and you will find out. Every person, every detail, every moment was just a tasteful pleasant experience. We are neighbors to this restaurant and are so happy that we don’t have to go far to experience it.
Fabulous tasting menu. Paced nicely, perfect portions, best foodie experience in Miami-and excellent wine list.
The service of Palme d'Or was outstanding! Both the maître d' and our waiter were very accommodating, highly informed, and very pleasant. If you are looking for an upscale culinary experience this is a very good place to go in Coral Gables. FYI, the 4 course menu is not available on the weekends; only the 6 course and the chef's 11 course tasting menu.
My wife and I went for dinner. They had three tasting menus with three different prices. I liked the chefs tasting menu (most expensive) and my wife liked another menu. The waiter told us that we both had to order from the same menu so that we would not “throw the kitchen off”- e.g. I was not “allowed” to order from the chefs menu if my wife ordered from the $65 menu. I almost walked out but ordered from the less expensive menu instead. Other than that restriction, the place is nice, food is interesting and well-presented, desserts and wine pairing excellent.
We wanted an iconic restaurant in the area, and we sure got it! We did the 6 course menu. They throw in a couple of very small extra tastes, so it was more like 9. It was a delicious, albeit very expensive, treat!
Excellent restaurant gastronomique de miami et certainement le seul
Tout était parfait comme un restaurant étoilé en France
Go for the 4 course meal with wine pairing.
I took my wife there for her 75th Birthday. She and I both loved the Restaurant.
The ambience, service etc. were fine, but the food was Terrific. Prices are fixed and options are few, but there wasn't one course that wasn't superb. I have eaten in many fine Restuarants all over the world, but for tastes alone, no other was better than this. Pricing is very high, but worth it.
As background, I'm a world traveler for work and a fan of tasting menus, and have enjoyed plenty of Michelin-starred meals both alone or with my husband or family. I'm in Florida often for work and this time thought I'd try something new, thus the Palme d'Or. The food was quite good - traditional (caviar, fois gras, escargot, and so on) but delicious. Plating was lovely. I liked the little touch of having small amounts of bread paired to certain dishes. However the food could not overcome the ambiance, decor and service. I was the ONLY person there at 6:30; I still wasn't seated at any of the 2-tops with a view of the nice pool area but against a pillar where I could see nothing. No music at all. Decor is a sort of tired "European cosmopolitan" with lots of mirrors and darkness. When my server came by I smiled and said it was my first time there, I came for the tasting menus and I planned to do the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. He ignored this and proceeded to lecture me on what a tasting menu is and introduce me to the full range of options I could choose. I patiently waited and again told him what I'd be ordering. It was like this throughout the meal. As the fois gras was served I saw him approach with a Sauternes. Oh thanks, I said, that's an oldie but goodie pairing. He then commenced to inform me why Sauternes was a good pairing with fois gras. Insert rolled eyes. Finally another dining party arrives - a group of 4. Twice the chef comes out and chats with them at length. Returns to the kitchen ignoring me. (Remember - only 2 tables total were occupied.) Overall I did not feel welcome, I did not feel listened to, and while the food was excellent I will not be returning.
Hands down the best restaurant in Miami. Quality of food and presentation top notch. And the service is great. Stop by the bar next door for a drink before dinner and the evening will be unforgettable.
Great food, great service. Would visit again
Best french in south Florida. Amazing food and great service!!
The food, ambiance and service were all top notch. However, the amount of food in my selection was minimal compared to the amount of bread and dessert that is offered. I would have liked a bit more of the “healthy” food options I selected than all of the bread that comes first and thereafter with each course to be followed by a cart of desserts and mini ice cream cones. All good, but a bit much. I did enjoy the food and would return but would love to see a bit more food on the plates in a progressive manner. When the first course was brought out I did expect it to be small, but expected each course to get a bit larger thereafter. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It felt as though I should have gotten full on the bread so as not to notice how little of the “real” food there actually was. Needless to say, if this is corrected, I think Palm D’or will have achieved perfection,
Good food with chef's tasting menu. Excellent price. Need improvement on service. Staff were courteous but slow service.
