Palma Ratings and Reviews
We had a delightful dinner @ Palma while in NYC!! We come here every time we come to the city. Our waiter Fulcris? Was outstanding!! He decanted our special cellar wines in the sparkling patio area. Sister D loved the gluten-free ravioli with butter sauce. Niece always has gnocchi with red sauce. Sister J had the seafood medley in broth — yum! I had Branzino which was fileted for me with good fresh vegetables.
Was my second time at Palma and just as delicious as first time! Amazing home made pastas including homemade gluten free pastas which is not that easy to find. Having a gluten allergy it is a real gift to find a place that has this. The cauliflower current and pinenut appetizer is a must have. There are choices for pasta lovers, meat and fish lovers and allergy diners. A great choice for your eclectic dining crowd. The atmosphere is West Village romantic- wooden tables and candlelit. There is a garden room in the back which is nice during daytime dining. It is a little on the pricey side but I highly, highly recommend.
My 13-year old son and I went for a Saturday lunch. Everything was great. An old chum who’s friendly with the chef, Marino, introduced me to the restaurant and I’ve never been disappointed. We split two orders. The first was a ricotta and spinach stuffed pasta, which the waiter recommended as replacement for the gluten-free ravioli. The second was the steak, which was served London-broil style with a tasty green sauce and arugula salad. Jalapeño-infused tequila drink called “Smoky and Sweet” is a must try. The waiter corrected a screwed up bill with aplomb. All around pleasant experience.
The atmosphere was beyond charming and quaint.
The food was delicious
Service was five stars
The outdoor garden space is where you want to book your table. It’s enclosed for the winter months as well.
Furthermore, there is a carriage house to the back of the garden space which you can rent out for private events/ dinner parties, hello fabulous!
Will be back!
have been there many times but this last visit was unsatisfactory. Service was unprofessional and food was average. we all ordered aperol spritz. when it arrived it didnt' look right. it was too red. we realized it was made with compari and not aperol. we informed the server who returned 10 minutes later to tell us that they had run out of aperol. they made no attempt to ask us if we wanted something different and didn't apologize. they didn't charge for the drinks, but we were not pleased.
I was quite disappointed with the restaurant. Although the food was quite good, the service was poor and lacking. We were seated in the back room, which is the prettier of the two rooms available. Unfortunately we were placed at a table that the entire waitstaff used as a thoroughfare so that my wife's and my seat were constantly being brushed and knocked against by the staff. The waitress came over to our table twice to take our order even though one of the four of us was still waiting for their cocktail; taking an order early means courses are sure to show up before you're even halfway through the cocktail, which, in this case, they did. My wife was brought an incorrect entree; she finally received her entree almost 10 minutes after the rest of us. No apologies were given. Two glasses of wine ordered with the entree took too long to arrive. Finally the entire meal had a rushed feeling to it.
Many reasons to recommend but I'll limit it to the two checked off. It is a special jewel in an already magical neighbourhood and the food was delicious. My wife was especially grateful to find an option that not only met her dietary requirements but was a gastronomic delight. Excellent staff. Thank you.
