We have eaten at Palma in the back patio several times during the pandemic. It had been excellent and lovely until our most recent visit. I had requested the patio in my reservation notes, and at 5pm on a Sunday, I didn't imagine that would be a problem. Turns out there was a sizable wedding in the patio, so we sat on a noisy, dirty sidewalk in ratty chairs, notably uncomfortable for one of our four recovering from an injury, and by and large we found the food a rank below all prior experiences—not a big surprise if a wedding was being tended to by most all the staff & kitchen. I will try again, but only if a call in advance can ensure the patio & an assurance that no event is taking place. It is notably pricier than many like-minded Italian spots in the neighborhood and usually worth it, but not last night. (Note too I did speak with someone the day before to reduce our party size from 5 to 4, giving them opportunity to see my note again and share with me that my patio request would not be possible and that a large event would be going on.)
Great food snd service. Highly recommend. I was so happy to see so many gluten free menu options!!
Service was very uneven - different tables seemed to get different attention. Food was rather salty. Pasta, while fresh was a bit too chewy. Biggest turnoff was the service. Best dish from our table was - believe it or not - the scrambled eggs with parmesan. Something perhaps to do once but a $30 pasta dish that is too salty and chewy and not served with warmth takes it off my list.
Palma has the total package — the most delicious and well prepared meals, excellent service and great al fresco dining in its one of kind Mediterranean courtyard!
This was one of the best dining experiences we had in a long time. The staff is amazing, the food experience was great, felt like we were in Italy! Thank you for creating something that comes from the heart. We felt it!
Such a lovely experience! The food was delicious and the ambiance was so wonderful I didn’t want to leave!
Loved the service and garden seating
Always perfect! Delicious food and wonderful ambiance!
Gorgeous lighting and delicious food in a warm cozy patio on a rainy night - was perfect for a special date night.
Waiter was incredibly inattentive. Music was hilariously bad (we were hoping to hear Amber Mark but they played a very weird selection of music instead). Pastas were tasty but definitely overpriced. The charcuterie board (which was more expensive than our main courses) and panna cotta (one of my top 3 favorite desserts) were underwhelming. Would not return.
Palma never disappoints. We sadly had not visited in a while and it was as great as ever. If you or someone in your group is gluten free, and the others are gluten lovers, you can’t go wrong here. You’d NEVER KNOW the cacio pepe ravioli was gluten free. Outstanding.
They seated us 25 minutes late even though our entire party was on time. They said that due to the rain, everyone wanted to sit inside, but they can’t disregard those who made indoor reservations and make them wait like that. They shared that the tables had paid but hadn’t left yet and they were unwilling to let them know they needed the table. It was an incredibly disappointing start to our first experience - they need to honor the indoor reservations for the time they reserved vs forcing them to wait because people changed their mind about sitting outside. The staff did make up for the terrible start to our experience though.
Great ambiance and setting. Lovely decor. The food was great. Veg friendly.
Such a pretty place with good food and drinks. Kind of odd they advertise gluten free pasta dishes and then said they were out of the gluten free pasta - so that was the only disappointing part (call ahead if you need it?). Otherwise, fantastic place.
The waitress was great.
2 things to work on:
1). The lobster portion in the pasta dish was pretty skimpy. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly
2) the choices of entrees was limited. Could be COVID related but many restaurants have shifted and back to a wider variety and number of entree choices.
Otherwise the experience was grest
Im really not sure what all the hype is about this place.. We came here excited about the prospect of a great meal. We left having wished we chose another restaurant. The pasta came almost crunchy it was so undercooked while the lobster was overcooked. La vie en rose had way too much elderflower liqueur. After much litigation, I was finally allowed to send back pasta. Overall very disappointing.
Food and ambience was amazing. But the service wasn't professional. Old school professional servers are preferred in Palma. Food & dessert was amazing as always. Will go back multiple times as long as the old school professional servers come back.
The service and food are impeccable. This is a place that you’ll return to over and over again!!
My second time here because I fell in love with their silky pasta. By far, this is my favorite pasta spot, and I’ve had quite a few pastas in my life!
Food was good...ambience was superb!
Came here with my wife on a beautiful Friday evening. We were promptly seated but it took awhile to get a waitperson to order drinks from and inquire about specials.
When our waiter came to our table, he was very knowledgeable, attentive, and charmingly Italian.
The food was excellent. One quibble is the limited variety of main courses. Lots of delicious appetizers and pasta dishes but only 2 mains.
Overall a very good experience
Absolutely perfect evening with my parents: we had great food, great service, and great memories. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food, service and ambiance were excellent! Perfect place for lunch or dinner with friends and family. Garden is beautiful!
We sat in the terrace area and it was very charming! The food is amazing from appetizers to desserts. The only qualm I have is the service. One of us was still eating the Arancino , the server cleared the table and practically pulled the plate out in his last bite. One of the server delivered my dish with his thumb inside my bowl almost touching the noodles .
Great spot and great meal as always
Loved Palma! Most beautiful aesthetic, and the food was incredible. The service was outstanding and we had a great time!
Food is excellent. Gluten free pasta makes it inclusive. In a lot of ways better than Carbone in our opinion.
Took my mom here for Mother's Day late lunch/early dinner @ 4:30/45pm. It was absolutely beautiful and worth the money I spent (which waaaas quite pricy). We sat in a table in the garden which was separated from all the tables the seated larger parties, but even those were distanced from each other and had those plexi-glass dividers. Felt like I was in the backyard of a small Italian home on the countryside (or at least what I picture it to be lol). Food was bomb, I ordered the raviolis stuffed with spinach/ricotta and mami ordered the chicken milanese. Everything was perfectly seasoned & tasted fresh. The drinks were also well made in both my mom's and my opinion. Service was friendly and efficient! Would def recommend and return!
Such a lovely experience! Went for a birthday celebration and it was delicious. Great with Celiac restrictions. Drinks and food were superb.
Phenomenal authentic Italian food!! Great service!
The ambiance was great, but price doesn't match the food.
I had a marvelous time at Palma for two of my friends bdays. The calamari, Al Fungi pasta, and wine are all amazing. Very grateful for the tiramisu cake on the house. As per usual Palma has a lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back soon.
I love the flowers and will keep coming back just for that. The food is very good. The fettuccine al funghi were good but not very flavorful ( I needed to ask for salt- no cheese to add to it). The tiramisu was very good (4.5/5). I definitely recommend it.
Delicious food, beautiful ambiance and decor. Excellent service. Would definitely come again!
Have been looking forward to dining here for over a year, very underwhelmed by the meal.
Amazing food and friendly service. No complaints here, will be returning for more!
The food was fantastic, but we were seated in the ugly tent next to the structure built out front for outdoor dining- at least put us in that one, or inside, if you can't put us in the back. Really, really disappointing as we were there to experience the ambiance I've heard so much about and had been looking forward to this dinner for nearly a month. Probably will not return. Service was horrible.
