Visit to nyc
Palma is wonderful! The food, ambiance and service is outstanding! Everything our waiter Patrick recommended was delicious. The Maitre d' Carlos was so accommodating. I realized a couple of hours after we left the restaurant that I left my cell phone there. When I went back it was so busy, but Carlos helped me look for it. One of the waiters found it and had it charging at the bar.
We met a friend who lives in NYC and this is her favorite Italian restaurant, in NYC, that’s saying something. It didn’t disappoint! The food, wine and service were outstanding.
Beautiful, rustic space with attentive service and wonderful food.
I always love going to Palma....the food is so wonderful and the environment transporting
The food was not good and it took forever for them to bring it. Very very overpriced. The place is very nice and romantic.
Awesome food, wine and ambience. Real Italian restaurant,we felt like we were back in Italy
Great atmosphere! So cozy and cute. Drinks came super late. Bread was cold and bad. Pasta was way overpriced and not very good. $65 for a pasta dish and a drink is a bit much.
Loved the food, the service and the ambiance. Heaven!
Clams with mussels were amazing, phenomenal bolognese!
It was absolutely wonderful- from bar scene to the garden. Charming and romantic!
What a horrible experience. Food and service were some of the poorest I’ve had in terms of West Village Italians.
Never had worst customer service in my life. Arrived on time for our 630pm reservation, where we were put at a 2 top table in the garden. Enjoyed 3 courses and a bottle of wine, plus extra glasses and were very abruptly asked by the very rude maitre’d to move to the bar - we’d been there too long and he needed to seat another reservation. We still had dessert on the table and half a glass of wine each. We racked up an over $230 tab and he was pushing us out to the bar - where by the way there were no seats nor places to stand. Luckily the manager was able to seat us at 2 top table in the front, which she told us the maitre’d yelled at her for doing. I spoke to her at length about how rude he was and she apologized for him, but he never was reprimanded- seemed he ran the show there. We weren’t asked if we could be given a glass of wine or a comp’d dessert - nothing to make up for the fact we were treated like we somehow were working for them. It was the WORST customer service experience of my life.
Wonderful experience. The restaurant was beautiful. Everyone was so pleasant and welcoming. The service was great. Food was incredible. The drinks were delicious and perfectly made. Will absolutely come back.
I do love Palma. It’s beautiful and the service is always great. The food is always good, but was a bit disappointed in the quality of the salmon. Not to Palmas standards and at $40+ it should be exceptional. Just an off night, I hope..
Always a beautiful setting with a friendly wait staff and good food.
Definitely a place for New York residents and visitors alike
Absolutely excellent. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere. We will definitely be going back as soon as possible.
Very disappointing evening
1. The entrees came BEFORE the appetizers
2. The salmon was inedible
3. We specified for the salmon to be cooked medium rare and it came out as tough as a hockey puck
4. We asked how many pieces of zucchini were in the appetizer before ordering it. Our waitress said five. It was served with 3 pieces
5. Terribly noisy - bad acoustics. They should invest in some sound dampening panels
6. Very expensive - meal was over 400$
What's worse than bad food? Bad food that is expensive.
PS this is my first ever opentable review. I’ve never felt as compelled to write one as I did this morning upon reflecting on the awful experience last night at this establishment
Such a lovely date night spot with great food and a nice wine menu.
service removed plates while we were still eating.
Was very nice high quality dishes. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Outstanding. This was my second visit and I will definitely be back again—the ambiance, the food, the wine.. everything is excellent. I appreciate the sommelier being available to help with wine choices.
Palma's ambience and food are exceptional--this was one of many visits and the consistency of the extraordinarily high quality food and service is astounding. My son had his wedding dinner 5 years ago in the lovely back room and we returned to celebrate his and his wife's 5th anniversary. The Gluten Free pasta is exceptional--as someone who does not eat GF, I could not tell the difference between the GF pasta and regular pasta. And the beauty and serenity of the place it exceptional. It feels as though you are transported to Italy...
As close to Italy as you can get in NYC. Very authentic, warm atmosphere, beautiful flowers, and amazing food. Also the wine that was suggested was superb.
The food at Palma is amazing. This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The meatballs and cauliflower were amazing as always. The waitress talked me into the gluten-free cacio de pepe (I've never had gluten-free pasta that I thought didn't taste like cardboard) and I was super impressed. You really wouldn't know it was gluten-free. The lamb chops were also out of this world!
Palma has always been fantastic. If you can get a seat in the garden, you definitely should. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere is wonderful. I especially recommend the gluten free mushroom pasta (and I am not GF). It is amazingly good.
They had no fish except salmon No mussels clams or fish of the day
Not impressed with the explanation for a Tuesday in Manhattan.
We haven’t been in the restaurant for a long time.
The food is delicious well prepared, good portions,
Ambiance is perfect if you sit in the garden, inside is nice but tables are very small and feels crowded. I asked for the garden and we got a very good table.
We had the meat balls as appetizer and my husband and I had the papardelle with a veal ragú it was excellent!! My daughter had the ravioli and it was delicious.
Dessert were very good.
We arrived early for our reservation and we had a drink at the bar and the service was excellent, I asked for something special and the bartender, a woman, told me she didn’t have it, but offered me two or three different drinks and offered to pick the one I like it. I thought that was a nice gesture.
The service during the dinner was good but I felt a little rushed.
But we will definitely come back.
Great for an impromptu datenight
Wonderful experience at Palma for brunch. The blueberry Dutch pancake is delightful, and the tomato eggs are my favorite! The service was a bit slow, and when we first arrived it was a bit empty but it was more alive by mid brunch.
Also, the blood & salt cocktail was a reason enough to return!
Always a wonderful time, great food, and excellent service at Palma! One of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC
Tired and overpriced. Dirty tablecloths, tattered menus, chipped dishes. Inadequate air-conditioning. The food is fine, but nothing special. Pricing suggests a high-end experience, but it’s not even close.
Palma is on Cornelia Street, a really picturesque corner of Greenwich Village where Taylor Swift used to live. We sat in a really beautiful open-air courtyard surrounded by ivy, flowers and candles. They have a retractable glass roof in case the weather changes. The food and wine service were faultless. My husband and I shared the fried zucchini blossoms as an appetizer. For entrees I had the papardelle with lamb, olives, and rosemary, while my husband had the ravioli cacio e pepe. The pasta is handmade and while the meals could've been heavy, they weren't. Portion sizes were reasonable. The sommelier recommended excellent wines to complement our entrees. We had coffee and good grappa after dinner.
Fantastic food and service. Ambiance is absolutely amazing
Had a fabulous birthday dinner here with a group of friends. Service was great and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend!
Spectacular!!! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was as incredible as it could be. I could go into detail but it would make this review a novel.
Service: 5 stars!
Ambiance: 5 stars!
Food: 5 stars!
Overall: 5 stars!
We highly recommend and will be returning again and again. Thank you, Palma, for a beautiful experience.
Amazing place! Food was unbelievable. Attentive service. Unique experience. Great place for date night! Can’t wait to go back soon
Food and drinks are always delicious!
Excellent service and ambience
Absolutely beautiful ambiance indoor and specially outdoors. Went here for my birthday dinner . Great wine and cocktails. Good variety of pasta dishes and traditional Italian apps. LOVED IT!
