Palm Court Restaurant - Arlington Heights
Palm Court has received rave reviews since the restaurant opened its doors over 40 years ago for its elegant ambiance, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere.
A highlight of the restaurant is the piano lounge, a comfortable place to unwind, relax, meet up with friends as you listen to the live piano music that swathes the dinner crowd Monday through Saturday.
Chef Michael has been creating alluring dishes for Palm Court since its inception in 1979, and our chef-driven menu includes timeless favorites like Tournedos of Filet Mignon, crisp Long Island Duckling, Veal Oscar and Provimi Calf’s liver. No dinner is complete with Palm Court’s own dessert, Brandy
The Bar offers a wide array of wines, cocktails, specialty Martinis and imported and domestic beers.
Been coming here for 30 years - as good as ever! Val!
ue is incomparable
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We come here often. The food is always excellent but Sunday my dad ordered the Liver and onions and it was not as good as he thought it woul be. It wasn’t authentic liver. The wait staff is excellent and we know they’ve been there for a long time. We will be back.
Good food, excellent service and delightful old-time ambiance. A relaxing elegant place to enjoy a pleasant meal.
Good food, good drinks, cozy atmosphere, good service, good location, and classic one-of-a-kind ambience. Highly recommended!
Server came immediately but we asked for a few minutes before we decided. Never returned. We asked another server who did get our waitress. 50 minutes later had not received our salads. After too long a time and waitresse ‘s apology, prime rib dinner was not done as requested, steak dinner over done from requested, sauces for prime rib, chicken, ribs, baked potatoes all had to be requested. Large party and insufficient wait staff. Was comped one dessert for a very poor and , since we had all been here before , surprisingly unsatisfactory dining experience.
Always outstanding food, service and ambiance.
Great selection of foods all prepared perfectly. We’ve always had excellent dining experiences here.
I made the reservation on line for 7 PM Friday. It was our 60th wedding anniversary. By the time I parked the car, the ladies were in the both at exactly 7 PM!!! There were seven for dinner and I think everyone ordered a different meal. Then a small thing happened during a toast to us, a glass of wine was spilled on the table. In about a minute, the staff headed by Dave our waiter, cleaned the mess and gave us a clean table cloth. Dave handled all the orders including changing some orders to make everyone happy! Food was wonderful all around and we will return in the near future.
My husband adores the Oysters!!! Always a special treat for him!
Filet medallions flavor excellent but meat was a bit tough. Filet mignon was excellent. Service excellent. Drinks reasonably priced and tasted great.
This restaurant was truly a treat! My husband and I went on a Saturday evening and felt a bit of nostalgia as we sat at a booth in the lounge. We were entertained by the piano player and taken care of famously by Kristen our server. I would have to say the food was magnificent. Prepared to our liking and for the house salad they had my favorite Thousand Island dressing house made. I don't know if we were the only two that felt as if we had drifted back in time, but we had a great meal and an enchanted evening. We will be returning with friends!
The waitress arrived at our table with a frown and a bad attitude. She was actually rude to us and never once smiled. I almost spoke to the manager, but figured she had something going on in her life.
Food excellent tables MUCH too close together -can’t move about in the chairs due to tight quarters and have to move the tables in order for another person to fit.
Couldn’t ask for anything else! Nothing else to say! Lovely evening.
Extremely efficient staff and table service! Food presentation above average. Personable new owner and matre d . Compassionate owner kept the original staff, many have been there since 1980. Every table full when we walked in. Reasonable prices! Would highly recommend this to any fine dinners!
My Palm Court experience was very nice ,
there was only one exception. Our waitress, an older woman, with a slight accent , grayish white hair, very skinny I felt was very rude. Every request or question asked of her she responded with a very rude response. My wife who has celiacs disease requested that her meal be gluten free, when the meal arrived to our table my wife asked our waitress if in fact her meal was prepared gluten free. The waitress response was, in a very nasty tone “ that’s how it was put in to the kitchen “ that response did not assure that in fact the meal was gluten free. There were many other occasions throughout our meal were this waitress felt put out by simple requests of her. Overall, atmosphere was very nice , food was absolutely delicious and other staff involved in our dining experience were very nice.
Quite a crowd tonight, had to wait 40 mins for a table this evening. Service was fine once seated (lounge). My meal was just okay (lamb special) but others at our table loved their entrees.
Most entrees here are superior.
Live music, energetic dining experience
We had to wait forty five minutes for our table which was the most we have ever had to wait there. It would have been nice if the mitre de had told us there was a problem that we found out later. Then once we sat down and ordered, our waitress forgot our soft shelled crab. When we asked about it, our main course had already arrived. She did apologize and gave us a free dessert. The duck was crispy and delicious with rice. We would definitely go back as this was a one time bad experience. We have been going there for years.
We were disappointed because we were unable to get a table with our favorite server, as we had requested when we made the reservation; the place was unbelievably busy on a Saturday night. However, the new owner and staff apologized for not being able to fulfill our request. The new menus are nice. The barbeque ribs were wonderful, as was the veal marsala.
Palm Court is a great, privately owned restaurant. We have been going to Palm Court for 35 years. I guess that says a lot regarding the resturant. It has the ambiance of a supper club and has a live piano player. The best seats for dinner are in the lounge. It has recently changed ownership and the new menu, specials and wine are really good. I had Sea Bass and my wife had Halibut. Both were really outstanding. It is very crowded, so a reservation is a must.
Love this place and have always enjoyed our dinners there. Not sure what happened this time, but we didn’t get t
Excellent cocktails and food. Outstanding service as always.
We have been going to Palm Court since it opened and have always enjoyed the ambiance of a lovely restaurant with white tablecloths, as opposed to placemats and noisy environment.
Service was very slow. Very hot, need to turn up A/C.
Always a winner!
It was my first time here and I was a little skeptical. But, WOW, was I impressed. The service was top-notch and the food!!!! I had the pork chops where were some of the best I've ever had. Will be back for sure!
I took my family for Father’s Day the food and service was perfect. Give it a try appetizers r great food was Wonderful.👍👍👍
Great food, great service, great drinks (bar). Best pork chops ever.
I've been to Palm Court many times. This restaurant is a sure hit when I take my mother out for lunch. All the customers are usually 60+ but that just means the meal is going to be good and at a reasonable price. Good noise level too. Service is usually great.
Very nice ambience in a dinner club setting. Excellent high quality food (prime aged) meats.
I have been dining at Palm Court for many years.
Under new ownership since December 2018.
The new owner is very cordial and accomodating.
Lot more items on the menu. Prices a bit high.
Cocktails priced well. My wife ordered a long island and said it needed more liquor. She had better elsewhere. Meat portions enough but very stingy on rice, vegetables and small baked potatoe.
The manager over heard my comments to the waitress. He was accommodating to give more.
He also mentioned that he was going to discuss with the kitchen staff.
Has all 3 factors, good food, service, and ambiance.
This is one of our favorite restaurants
Always good food and the prices are reasonable
I ordered the lamb chops. They were very dry and had no taste.
Love this place. Reminds me of the old supper clubs. 6 of us had a couple drinks at the bar. Drinks r great. We sat in the bar area for dinner. love the piano music. Our waitress Terrible. Rude in fact. We asked for water took forever to come. I asked for a Coke never got it. Wanted some extra lemon for my Dover Sole I’m still waiting. I think we might have been bothering her. Food was very good! The 2 Dover Soles excellent. 3 prime ribs ordered at 3 different temperatures but all came out rare but delicious. Pork Chops were very dry left em after waitress saw her tip she ran after us n gave us the doggie bag. Might have asked why he only ate one bite when she bagged em. I would come back but never have her as our server. A Waitress can make bad food good, or make good food bad.
It's a lovely restaurant that has been around for years
We love it
This old timer still has some great steaks, prime rib and other entrees. Definitely the geriatric crowd. Reservations are a must on weekends.
Food continues to be high quality and service good
My wife and me have eaten here for years.New owners are trying to modernize menu, which is a great idea. But not at the expense of Qaulity and service which is exactly what’s happening.
Host and wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Our lunch was delicious (and portion was generous enough for take-home meal). Attractive surroundings, convenient parking lot. It's a 15-mile drive from my home but well worth the trip.
Even with a reservation they tried to squeeze us at a table with all the chairs back to back! Had to ask for another table. Food was mediocre at best and the service was hurried.
