About Palm Court Grill at The Davenport Hotel
The Palm Court Grill continues to serve the highest-quality food at a price that makes fine dining accessible to everyone. Its menu features choice cuts of USDA prime beef and freshly caught fish along with the region's finest wines and select ingredients that sample the bounty of the Northwest. The restaurant's private dining rooms have provided the graceful setting for wedding rehearsal dinners, birthdays, luncheons, and get-togethers for generations of guests. For smaller groups and people watchers, the tables in the historic lobby next to the hearth offer a mix of coziness and palatial grandeur. Meals for every appetite are served throughout the day. The Palm Court Grill also continues to uphold another estimable tradition: the Crab Louis salad, created and made famous nearly a century ago by Chef Edward Mathieu and loaded with tender Dungeness crab, is still served according to the original recipe — with, of course, a dash of contemporary spice.

Palm Court Grill at The Davenport Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Very pleasant staff, professional and attentive. The food was excellent. My wife and I were very pleased with our dishes. Excellent ambiance for a nice date, dim lighting, not too noisy, and nice colors and tones in their paint and decor. We will certainly visit again.
We love the Historic Davenport hotel. This is the second year we spent our anniversary here. We had a lovely table by the fireplace. The only complaint we had was our food,( we had the halibut) was not hot, actually the halibut was hot but the rice and beans were not.
Whether it is our anniversary, a romantic dinner, a birthday celebration with a dear friend, I always would select the Palm Street Grill. I love the Davenport - the complimentary car parking, the long stem rose for a special occasion, the gift shop. The only thing I haven't experienced is staying in one of the rooms over night, and I hear the are beautiful, just my style. Our dinner was excellent, our waitress attentive and she even treated me to a dessert for my birthday. We will be back again.
Had my third lunch of the holiday season at the Davenport this past Wednesday. The gorgeous setting helped us hang on to the Christmas Season for another day.
We were lucky and got a table in the lobby by the fireplace. Had a cup of vegetable beef soup and then the crab cake appetizer as my entrée. I was really hungry so it was perfect. Both were delicious and the server caught the fact that the Remoulade sauce has dairy after I mentioned to him that I was allergic . I really appreciated that. I would not have thought to ask about the Remoulade.
Be sure to stop in their gift shower. The flower shop is expensive but really incredible & unusual arrangements.
Woe unto you if you receive Courtney as your server. She forgets whatever you ask her to provide (water, coffee, etc). Delivers the bill halfway thru the meal prior to desserts and then disappears. Finally had to go to the hostess station to pay. Good food, poor service. Having been there a few times, the service is decidedly better in the evening. Just ask for a different table if you get Courtney.
I brought my family here for Christmas dinner. The davenport was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We got to sit out in the central area and enjoy looking at all the Christmas trees. In between courses grandpa took my three year old for a walk upstairs looking over the balcony which was fun. My dinner was not very good. Soup was very salty. Turkey dinner was also very salty and kinda gross. I do not recommend their food if you are a foodie. And it was very overpriced for unappetizing food.
We had a party of 12 arriving on time, for Christmas breakfast at 1015, service was good, however, we were not served until after noon. Manager and server did the best they could but food was fair at best. Holiday meals at the Davenport have been a tradition, but this is the second year that service on Christmas day was not up to par. We often recommend the Palm Court to friends but probably not for a holiday meal.
I wonder why on Christmas Day breakfast we could not sit in the lobby area. I am guessing it is a lot of extra work for the servers. The food was good but portions could be a little larger. Maybe the smaller portions are due to many patrons not completing their meals. Ambience great! The Davenport is such a remarkable place for Spokane!
Restaurant was busy. We had friends from Portland that we met for dinner. The table they sat us at was unacceptable and we asked to be seated some where else. The gal at the desk argued with me until some else moved us.
The dinner was enjoyable but my friend had to ask three times for a straw.
Why is my visit to the Palm Court on 10/29 still pending?
We enjoy dining here on nights we attend the symphony, or if we have friends visiting from out of town. The Davenport Hotel is a historic treasure and the Palm Court Grill has excellent service and a menu to fit the setting. It is especially beautiful and festive during the holidays.
I had late Thanksgiving company arrive from out of town and didn't have time to put together a proper dinner so I made reservations at Palm Court and had their Turkey Dinner special and I was disappointed. The dark meat was over cooked and the white undercooked. The vegetable dish included zucchini that was overcooked compared to other vegetables in the mix, there was a mushroom or something in the dressing that was slimy and unchewable. I know that they have a fine reputation and one of my guests ordered a salmon dish which was excellent so I am going to just pass this off to their kitchen simply not being prepared to offer this one day specialty menu item.
I made a reservation for my birthday dinner thinking Palm Court Grill would be a different and classy dining experience. I mentioned on the reservation form that it was my birthday and I was hoping for a really nice table that was quiet, maybe cozy and/or by a window. There was no mention of that when we arrived and they sat us adjacent to a table of 5 in an almost empty restaurant. We had to ask to move just so we could be a little further from the other table. The dining room is nice enough but we didn't care for the atmosphere and the décor is forgettable. The waiter was just ok. We had to ask him for a wine list since he didn't offer it. The food was pretty good but nothing I would return to the restaurant for. All in all it was disappointing and far from a special birthday dinner. One thing, though, is that we saw several full tables by the fireplace outside of the restaurant in the hotel lobby. Those tables would have been a MUCH more enjoyable place to dine and I wish we had been offered a cozy table out there.
The ambiance of dining in the main room of the Davenport Hotel is stunning and almost old world. The decor is ornate and takes you back to a time of elegance. The wait staff are courteous and very assistive. You feel pampered. The selection of food for lunch spanned from the most common to some very rare and delightfully intriguing choices. I dined on a dungeness crab salad that was very well prepared, with plenty of crab. I also had a jumbo prawn coctail that was delicious. If you haven't been to lunch there, I highly recommend it.
Made reservations for dinner. Notified server on tight schedule to meet theater curtain nearby. Thomas accommodated our expedited service. Excellent filet mignon. Sides a bit skimpy. Excellent service. Nice ambience but noise level a bit disconcerting. Entrees start for most part at $35. Cocktails $11.
Dined here with my hun for a fancy night out and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was sophisticated and our waiter was awesome. The food was, of course, delicious and the prices were reasonable for a night out. You also get free valet parking with a $10 purchase (which you will definitely do). There was a group having dinner in another room across the way so that created some noise, but other than that it was a perfect evening.
We celebrated my wife's birthday at the Palm Court Grill. Food was good, although my prime rib was ordered medium well and end up mostly rare. Had to have it redone. The waitress was excellent and really made the night. She actually noticed my under done meat as it arrived and offered to take it back. Soon all was good and time was we spent.
Food was dried out, not a pleasant sandwich (Rubin) meet was dry and overcooked. Could have gotten a better sandwich at half the price, Prime Rib Sandwich was ok. String fries hard to eat, should go back to steak fries. Service was just OK, not worth tipping this meal , though I did .
I have gone to the Davenport many times, and this was the poorest meal I have had, probably won't go back for the lunch menu.
We recently moved to Spokane and have made our choice about which restaurant has the best steak: Spencer's or Churchill's or Masselows. The answer is none of them: if you want the best, it's The Palm Court Grill. We absolutely love filet mignon, and the chef at TPCG knows how to prepare it the best. The meat is so juicy, flavorful and tender, even cooked medium well. Couple it with a bleu cheese melt and it just melts in your mouth. Congratulations on having an exquisite meal on a consistent basis! And to make the experience even better, we were able to have the same server each time, Thomas. He exemplifies the term professionalism. The Palm Court Grill knows how to cater to their clientele. Good job!
Everything went smoothly. Service was fast, food arrived quickly. I had asked for a booth because I'm hard of hearing and find it more comfortable. We received a booth. The prime rib was flavorful and was cooked as I asked. The Davenorth salads are better than most and I was not disappointed. This dinner was a late Birthday gift for my daughters.
