   I love the space and the general atmosphere. Our server was excellent and very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. The food was good, as well. It just seemed a bit overpriced based upon the selection and the serving size. We’ll come back because of the hotel’s charm, but probably only for special occasions and gatherings.

   Salmon tasty but oversalted. Signature salad was way, way stingy on the fixin's, almost nonexstent, about a C-minus due to that but lettuces decently fresh. The waiter was very good but, the place fairly busy, a bit of a wait to get dessert -- excellent if again very stingy size creme brulee -- and for the check. Generally, the food is way overpriced and quality often so-so. I suspect if it were not for the beautiful lobby that few would think to dine here. Seriously, upgrade the food quality to match the ambiance and, very especially, the prices. You want your patrons to be able discuss the food as much as the lobby.

   They removed their signature breakfast from the menu. Big disappointment. The stuff was helpful in accommodating our table of eight, but the food was cold for half of the people in our party, and they didn’t come around to refill the coffee very often.

   We were a party of 8 celebrating a big birthday. Two people at our table were disappointed when there were no vegan options on the menu other than salad. The server suggested the one pasta dish could be served with vegetables but that was the only option for an entree. This was different the last time we dined there pre-pandemic. Overall the food was ok but not what you would expect at a nice, fairly expensive restaurant.

   Arrived for our reservation at 5:30PM., asked if we could change from two to four guests, hostess said that was fine. Walked back 5 minutes later with our two additional guests, the hostess had no recollection of talking to me a few minutes earlier. When she let us know that our table was going to be in the back of the restaurant, I asked if we could sit in one of the empty tables in the open area. She said “Those tables are reserved“. I asked if, in the future, there is a way I could reserve the table in the open area and she said “no, you can’t choose where you sit.” I pointed out some somebody had reserve them, there has to be a way that I could assure that I am see that they’re in the future and she could not explain to me how I could request one of those tables. She seated us but never brought additional place settings for the additional two guests. When our server arrived, we did not feel that she was very friendly and she also could not explain how we could simply request a table in the open area. She took our drink orders and we ordered our food immediately upon receiving our drinks. 5:49 PM. We checked our watches because we had Hamilton tickets and we want to leave the restaurant by 7 PM at the latest. We ordered simply, in my opinion: a 6 ounce fillet, two salads, an appetizer , soup and crabcakes. Waters were never refilled, salad plates never cleared. We were seeing tables around us that had arrived after us being served first. Our server never came to give us an estimated time of arrival for our entrées. We did stop her several times to let her know that we had to leave by 7 PM. I flagged her down at 6:45 PM, an hour after we ordered. I let her know that we would need our tickets immediately and to go boxes as well. Finally got our food at 7 PM. We immediately left and ate while walking, Not the easiest way to eat salad, steak, etc. We ended up throwing half the food in the garbage before our show started. What a waste of $175+ dinner.

    We went for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day and my son’s college graduation. We did not sit in the beautiful atrium featured in their photos but rather in a booth inside a bland interior, averagely decorated, room. Nothing special. Our dinner reservation was for 6pm. Four menu items were already sold out. Our main entrees were not served for over 90 mins. We were told the kitchen was backed up, but would have gone elsewhere had we known. I had the Halibut ($38). It was dry and tasteless. Two entrees got served snd then my son’s entree came later. They offered us one free dessert to split among the 3 of us. A hot mess of a dinner. Do not recommend this restaurant.

    The historic Davenport palm court was my go to place for special occasions. This last time was a disaster. Out of many items on the menu. Food was cold. Sent it back and waited and waited. Finally asked what happened to meals. Never did get meals. They of course apologized and compted the meals and the 2 bottles of wine. Not sure what the problem was. Very disappointed I will try it again. Could’ve been one of those off nights. However it was Mother’s Day and they should’ve been prepared for the busy weekend. New owners should be made aware of these issues. I would recommend with some hesitation/caution.

    Celebrating two special occasions. Restaurant not prepared for busy Mother’s Day and college graduation weekend. Ran out of most popular dishes even with an early dinner reservation and half full restaurant. Would have expected a better experience from Davenport. Manager tried to apologize, but really no excuse for poor service, lukewarm food, and poor customer service. Overall disappointing experience.

    We went to Palm Court Grill for Mother’s Day. I called before reserving to ask about the menu and was told it was a choice of brunch or offerings from their standard breakfast or lunch menus. Got there with my 90 year old Mom and husband wondering why there weren’t crowds as most restaurants are slammed on Mother’s Day. Realized why when I saw the limited brunch only menu. All menu entrees except steak and eggs ($45) were $35. Outrageous, but too late to go somewhere else without a reservation. So for three meals after a 20% tip it was $150. For breakfast items that normally cost $15-20 each. We did not want the pastries offered but had a little fruit. We ordered the Dungeness Crab omelets which Mom and I had enjoyed before many times. Good but only about two small pieces of crab in the omelets. Hash browns were anemic and almost raw so we didn’t eat them. All and all way too expensive and not worth it.

    Server was very busy. Water glasses not refilled but understandable as understaffed and very busy. Would visit again. (We understand completely that restaurants are having a hiring shortage...so no blame on the wait staff.).

    The ambiance is fantastic. Service was very nice. It took a little longer than normal to get our dinner, but worth the weight. I had the salmon and my wife had the halibut. Both were excellent.

    We were staying at the Davenport so made a 6:30 PM reservation for dinner at the Palm Court. James was our server. We ordered a cocktail first before ordering our appetizers. The prawntini as well as the signature salad were excellent. Then we ordered our entree at about 6:50. At 7:30 James informed us that the prime rib had been sold out for a couple of hours and my chicken which he said would take 25 minutes was “still cooking”!! What????? James obviously was either incompetent or confused. My husband then ordered a steak done medium. My chicken finally arrived and was to say the least overdone. The steak was also overdone as were the asparagus. We were not pleased at all about the situation and in fairness James removed them from the bill. I would sum it up as a total disappointment.

    The kids pancakes are just two pancakes, nothing else. The crème brûlée French toast but it tasted just like regular French toast. And again it’s just three slices of toast, nothing else. You can order sides for a pretty penny. When I asked for fresh cream I was told that it had just been placed on the table thirty minutes ago.. which is why I asked for fresh. I ordered a peach Bellini and got champagne with peach vodka.. because “the peach purée had gone off”. Not the Easter brunch we had expected.

    Food was over cooked, cold and extremely late. Staff was not attentive — seemed impatient. Location of seating was not desirable. Palm Court should look to how Davenport Autograph Table 13…we dined their today for brunch and had a much better experience born with quality of food and service.

    We had an amazing server. She was so friendly. We were staying at the hotel for a concert in town. The food was okay. I ordered the filet mignon and I ordered it medium but I was extremely overcooked. It was well done, no pink. Unfortunately I didn't have time to send it back to remake because we had to get going to the concert. Disappointed to have spent $46 on a steak that wasn't up to satisfaction.
