The Palm Court Grill continues to serve the highest-quality food at a price that makes fine dining accessible to everyone. Its menu features choice cuts of USDA prime beef and freshly caught fish along with the region's finest wines and select ingredients that sample the bounty of the Northwest. The restaurant's private dining rooms have provided the graceful setting for wedding rehearsal dinners, birthdays, luncheons, and get-togethers for generations of guests. For smaller groups and people watchers, the tables in the historic lobby next to the hearth offer a mix of coziness and palatial grandeur. Meals for every appetite are served throughout the day. The Palm Court Grill also continues to uphold another estimable tradition: the Crab Louis salad, created and made famous nearly a century ago by Chef Edward Mathieu and loaded with tender Dungeness crab, is still served according to the original recipe — with, of course, a dash of contemporary spice.

We hosted a birthday dinner for my niece. All 8 guests (plus a baby in a high chair) had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the server was beyond excellent, attentive and kind. Great experience!

We had a reservation. We did not need a reservation and should have been told that. Casual atmosphere we were told to seat ourselves and could choose anywhere.

We chose a seat and were told by another person that we could not sit there.
Our waiter - God Bless him - forgot our silverware, Au jus for French Dip Sandwich and something else which I forget.

15% tip because he couldn't quite do it.

Staff should have a host or hostess - you are a premier dining facility and in a premier hotel - to casual in my opinion.

Recommend you - yes, for those friends that are a little looser.

My husband and I celebrated a special occasion at The Palm Court Grill. We had a nice relaxed evening enjoying the Titanic 5 Course Meal. The food was amazing in both flavor and presentation. The only disappointment was in the reservations. We had made reservations and requested to be seated near the fireplace. When we arrived, it was open seating. We told the greeter we had reservations and where we had requested to be seated. She looked over at the area and apologized that the Seats were taken and said we could sit anywhere. It was obvious they had not tried to honor the request. Other than that, we had great service, and would not hesitate to eat there again.

Valentine'/Birthday was the occasion!

My husband and I were excited to order the "headliner" Titanic 5 course meal with wine pairing. The Davenport offered a special Valentine's menu in addition to their extensive regular menu and The Titanic meal. The kitchen and wait staff were not prepared to take this on.
We started at 5:30 and the first two courses arrived and were cleared in a timely manner, but there was a twenty minute lag before the poached salmon arrived--quite cold. We sent that back and before a new version arrived, the fourth course arrived. The filet mignon. was excellent and well-prepared but was on the cool side of serving temperature. The poached salmon finally arrived--only slightly warmer than the first. We enjoyed it with some extra lemon to brighten up the slightly congealed sauce. By this time, our server was overwhelmed and would not make eye contact or check on our table. Desserts' arrival was anti- climatic with plenty of criticism for the kitchen.
Although my husband and I enjoyed ourselves and the occasion, this 5 course $200 splurge meal and its accompanying presentation was a disappointment!
We love The Davenport but it's usual standards of excellence were NOT met.

Suggestion: a specially trained cadre of wait staff to attend to the Titanic Five Course Meal only.

Delicious food, excellent service. The Titanic five course meal was terrific and the wine pairings were perfect.

The reservation was not accepted. There was some sort of a glitch in their system. We were asked if we'd like to eat in the Peacock room, which we accepted. Our table was in a high traffic pattern, we waited for an hour for food, the food was cold, and the price was very high. It was Valentine's Day, and I was pretty disappointed. I LOVE the Davenport Hotel, and we've eaten many times in front of the fire in the main room. The ambiance is incredible, and usually the food is delicious. This was not the norm.

We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were excited about a date-night with dinner and the symphony. We ordered a shared appetizer, and immediately the waiter told us (and other tables) that the kitchen was backed up. They were not half full in the dining area. Appetizer came 35 minutes later. We asked for the salad we ordered 25 minutes after that. We had ordered dinner at 6:45. At 7:40, no dinner in sight, we had to leave to get to the concert in time. We thought a 2-hour window of time would be enough for dinner at this restaurant. I've never left a restaurant without receiving the meal I ordered. When we asked the manager why we couldn't get our meal in a timely way, he looked perplexed at the question, in the same moment as another guest who asked that his meal be delivered hot instead of ice cold. Clearly there is something wrong with the management here...what a shame for such a lovely environment.

Our service was good, very friendly and no long waits, we ordered the five course special, the food was good, not necessarily outstanding but very good. The ambiance is wonderful, comfortable and elegant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend,.

I made a reservation for 10 about a month in advance and got an email confirming it the day before. They did not have my reservation but accommodated us. The bartender waited on us as well as other people and service was somewhat slow. Prices are a little high but food was good.

Overall not a bad place to eat. Food was expected not anything to rave about. We wondered why our server seemed so impatient and snooty. If we return, I wouldn't want him again.

We went for day after Christmas dinner. The ambiance and Christmas decorations were beautiful. The only negatives for us were that the service was slow and the after dinner coffee was served cold.

We go to the Davenport Hotel for Christmas dinner with the family (party of 8.) This year the food choices that some of the members of our group selected, was only ok. The server seemed to be a little out of his element (maybe new); while he got our order correct, it seemed like the wait times for receiving our drinks (beer, water, pop) was longer than it should have been. Despite the lackluster review, we will definitely make our reservation for next year. The Davenport is a beautiful historic hotel that our family enjoys thoroughly.

We had a late dinner at the Davenport on Christmas Eve. Our waiter (Austin) was a gem. We had a small person (4) with us and our reservation was for 8:00 p.m. Austin was terrific about recognizing that our little one was tired and got her drink and food out quickly avoiding a potential melt down. The food was great, the Christmas ambiance was terrific and the drinks were strong. We will definitely be going back next year.

I've always enjoyed dinning at the Davenport. My experience this time was not so good. Poor service and food was cold. The server was rude and did not seem to care. Our experience unfortunitly makes me question coming back.

Have eaten here before and love the ambiance and menu. This was a special night as daughter was dancing in the Nutcracker at the Symphony and her boyfriend and mother flew in from Seattle. Unfortunately this night didn't go so well. The online reservation option was great, we were seated promptly, received drinks fairly quickly and then waited. And waited. About 45 minutes later we got our salads and soups. The entrees 20 minutes after that, some barely warm and had 15 minutes to eat before leaving for the show.

Other then an apology 'it's a busy weekend' no other amends were made.

Scheduled a 1230 reservation for Thanksgiving without seeing posted anywhere that their Thanksgiving didn’t start until 2 so we didn’t get to have Thanksgiving dinner at all this year which was super disappointing. The food was just okay. Overpriced and could have literally has just as good at a chain restaurant. Nothing special. Service was slow. Overall a disappointing experience at what was supposed to be a special occasion first visit to the Davenport.

Great interaction with the entire team at the Palm Court. They did an outstanding job of accommodating my team for this dinner event.

Mary, our amazing server, did a fantastic job of supporting us!

All aspects of this were great.

Christmas Dinner in the Atrium

Although this review is labeled for the Palm Court Grill we actually ate out in the atrium. The atrium uses the same kitchen. The atrium truly is lovely with the storied Davenport atmosphere, large chairs, comfortable seating, and excellent service only adding to the experience. I would have given five stars to the menu, but it was shortened for the Christmas meal and my prime rib sat somewhere on a steam table just a bit too long. My wife and our 100 year old friend had crab salads that both declared excellent.

Outstanding service and food.
The signature crab Louie salad is wonderful!
Was great to have a PB&J with fruit available for our "little princess"
As busy S the server was she took the time to snap a picture of our group, which we appreciated !

Since we had no specific plans for Christmas Eve, we opted to make reservations at the Palm Court atrium for an early dinner for my daughter, her two children and me. I had originally made reservations for just two, but when I called, the hostess (her name was Cindy) immediately told me the table would accommodate four and it would be fine. She was very nice and cheerful! We were seated almost immediately and the service was very good. Our dinner was excellent (albeit the prime rib cools off quickly) and we were never made to feel like we had to hurry. Also, we were so grateful for a kid's menu. Not everyone offers those anymore! Overall, we will probably make this a new Christmas tradition. Love the ambiance!

I made reservation 2 weeks in advance. Have always sat in the lobby dining area, assumed that would not be a problem. (1:45pm) I was very disappointed as I was taking our adult children for a Christmas Lunch to enjoy the decorations...and the hostess was very rude when she told me "first come first served" in that area. We ended up in a booth for 6 and I was not happy at all!!

We selected the Palm Court for our 50th Anniversary celebration. We were given a table in a quiet walled off area, almost like a banquet room. Service was good, but probably not up to the level of the prices, which were a bit on the high side. The Davenport Hotel, as expected was beautiful, which really did help make a memorable occasion. We try to dine at the Davenport at least once a year, usually the Sunday Brunch. Its definitely worth going to at least once.

Food was very good, service fine. However, they put us at an awful table, we were adjacent to the side of the bar where they set up a couple server tables to put all the dirty dishes from other diners. Got a good look all night at an number of used entree, shrimp cocktails, dirty napkins, etc,. All night long watched procession of dirty dishes dumped off in front of us. Really disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.
