Palm Court Grill at The Davenport Hotel
This is our kid's favorite breakfast place. I love the sweet cream pancakes with a pineapple mimosa.
Food was good. We sat waiting for wine list and water for 15 minutes. My husband had to go to hostess and ask for service. Waitress was very good. Her support staff should be retrained. They know how to appear to be working when the manager walks through dining room. The waitress has to take orders for food and drinks, deliver drinks and the food while the support staff stands looking around. We got our water filled once by the hostess. Not one support staff came to our table. This is a management problem.
Great experience....thank you!
Loved the food and the ambience. There was a good variety for the brunch.
Our experience was OK, However I was pretty disappointed that after making reservations a few days in advance and requested a table buy the fireplace because we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and we wanted it to be special and that is why we choose the davenport. when we arrived at the palm court we were not asked if we had reservation and we were told that is was open seating and to sit were ever we wanted that was available so I told the hostess that we had reservations and that it was clear no one looked ahead to see them because all the tables around the fire place were taken! The restaurant was almost completely empty other than maybe six to seven tables in the fireplace area and one table above in the bar area and dinning area above. The hostess only comment was that others may had reservations that took that seating! May bee! I am not sure why the davenport could not accommodate our reservation that evening especially the OPEN seating , if we were told that while we were making our reservation we may have chosen somewhere else to spend our anniversary as it was we sat in a both buy the bar the only plus was we were alone up there and enjoyed each other and got excellent service and food.
We had a nice time, but the amount of food was a little disappointing for the cost.
Excellent, innovative and properly cooked Salmon and Halibit, presented on a beautifly decorated plate. Wine recommendation by server was an excellent match for the food. Only downside was the tardyness of the service.
Food was pretty good (not great), but service was very slow. We had to remind our server to bring out our order a few times. We also waited for our bill for 20 minutes.
The service was excellent, the french fries that they served with a $25.00 meal was terrible. McDonald's
fries are superior. The fish was excellent. Who ever prepares the menu should be ashamed of serving such a poor excuse for french fries., ruined the whole meal.
Noise level was louder than usual only because Homecoming parties were going on. Otherwise, we were fine and had a table isolated somewhat from the festivities.
The service was excellent and we were extended such courtesy and genuine help even when we wanted to change wines to accompany our dinner. We have always had excellent dinners and service which brings us back again and again.
My favorite location for supper downtown is next to the fireplace at The Davenport. When I'm enjoying a glass of wine along with my delicious crab cakes, I think of architect Kirtland Cutter and how amazed he would be that the hotel is so much a part of Spokane.
The Palm Court Grill never disappoints. Excellent food and service always. The interior seating area of the grill is quite nice, but it's a real treat to be seated in the Davenport lobby, where you can enjoy its beauty along with the wonderful food. It is normally very quiet and relaxed. The moderate noise level was due to a high school homecoming. It was worth the extra noise to see young people dressed up nicely and having a good time.
Food was excellent!
Service was very slow had to request everything additional drinks for what they charge will not be going back
Great service and food. Happy hour deals are excellent!
Great service, great food and presentation, great dining experience. Recommend highly.
Thank you for a great morning. We had plenty of time to meet and eat.
Our server was friendly, but her service was awful! Our before-dinner drinks didn't come until the appetizers/salad came, and then dinner was served two minutes later. We had no time to enjoy our cocktails or appetizers, and I never got to drink more than a few sips of my cocktail because it was not a complement to my dinner at all. Then, as we ate our dinner, the junior staff began breaking down the tables around us-- moving tables and chairs and putting away the candles. New parties that came in were seated on the other side of the restaurant, so we were all alone -- except that we weren't because the bussers were moving the tables all around. It was the worst service we have ever experienced at this price point! I really don't understand why-- the food was delicious and of course, the setting is very romantic. Our special evening out ended up feeling disjointed and a bit harried. Unfortunately, I also was sick later that night... one of the most special rooms in the state, and a terrific reputation-- but our evening was way off the mark.
The experience was very good overall. The price is a little on the high side for what we got but the food was very good.
What a treat! Loved everything about the place. Beautiful, elegant, the staff were top notch and the food was beyond perfect. Didn’t want to leave!
We love this place❤️ We used to live in Spokane and would visit the lounge and restaurant, it was always a special treat. While visiting the area recently we booked at the Palm Court, got s nice table by the fireplace. While the food was excellent, the service was very mediocre for this beautiful themed restaurant. Would have been so helpful if the bus person could have helped clear plates, bring the bread out and refresh water. The waiter was very busy and would just disappear at times, we would have had a second drink or desert, but opted to get the check and leave instead 😞
The restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel, it appeals to a more elderly, mature audience and it was packed with tourists. My sister and I are in our late 40's and we were the youngest ones there. Our lunch for 2 was at 11:30 on a Monday and we were surprised at how full it was. The service was prompt but when the food arrived (fettuccine with crab & slices of bread covered with cheese), you could tell the plates had been sitting out for a while. The tops of the noodles were dark and dry and the bread was cold and hard to chew. The flavor wasn't much better. Super bland. I had high expectations for such a luxurious looking space and hotel, and for the fact that each plate was $25.00. We decided to order dessert and coffee as well. The creme brulee was great, but the Signature Sundae wasn't that great. It came with a little "hot" fudge pitcher but the "hot" fudge was more like thick pudding and I had to spoon it out because it wouldn't pour. The coffee was Pike's Blend from Starbucks and it was incredibly strong and tasted burnt. For the amount of money we spent and the high expectations of a grand experience, it was a huge disappointment.
Great food, overall nice evening as it was our anniversary dinner. Very slow service from the bar. Twice a waitress in our section dropped glasses on the floor causing broken glass and awkward moment.
Great breakfast and lovely way to enjoy out of town company in the beautiful historic Davenport hotel.
Great food in an excellent setting! So much history and so much class! We really enjoyed our dinner there. I would highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel to anyone.
Very Fun Birthday Dinner for Hubby - took our 16 year old son with us to have happy hour at the Safari Club and then walked across the street to Palm Court for dinner. Our son suggested that we share the Seafood Extravaganza - what a fun dinner sharing the platter and talking. We also ordered the crab cakes which were amazing!! The atmosphere was upscale but at the same time it was cozy and didn't feel like you needed to dress up.
The food was over priced and the service was terrible. The server was rude and did not come back and check on us often enough.
Food was amazing. Everything that came out of the back was very well thought out. Major kudos to the chef and his/her team. Service was garbage. Very slow and there were empty tables all around us. One caveat was that she was training someone. Maybe that’s why she was slow, but her trainee was very smart and quick so I don’t think that was it. They were nice servers, just felt ignored. First mix drink was sitting at the bar waiting for them to pick it up forever. I saw the bartender add more ice. So when it was time for another, I had to say “less ice more alcohol” which she nervously laughed off. Yes, I saw.
When the food is amazing and the service sucks, I still give 4 starts. Maybe when you go you’ll get a server that is attentive.
Waiter was excellent, attentive and very accommodating to us and our children.
Service was a little slow, and my steak was slightly overcooked.
Overall enjoyable but not outstanding
Excellent breakfast and attentive service. I had blueberry pancakes and wife had the Scottish King Benedict...both excellent. The Davenport Hotel is a historic landmark that has been beautifully renovated. My wife and I chose the Palm Court grill due to time, as opposed to the pricier (but awesome) Sunday brunch, which is held in the main lobby and adjoining dining room.
Everything was perfect start to finish! Great food, great service what more can you ask for? A beautiful hotel with wonderful restaurants.
Food was poor quality for the price. Service was only adequate...server not very personable....
Fettuccini was watery. Waitress was dismissive and not overly friendly. I don’t think the grandeur of the Davenport makes up for the food and marginal service. Especially since other options exist nearby.
We had the good fortune to be served by a professional who made my entire party feel comfortable and welcome. It was a wonderful evening.
We had prime rib that was an extremely small cut for the price and it was far from the best prime rib we ever had, not real tender and it was dry like it was leftover from their morning brunch.
Everything was amazing the food was top notch, service.
The setting was very interesting, visiting the Davenport is something someone should do just to see the history. The food was average at best. I've had better meals at 2/3 the cost. When booking my reservation on-line I was asked if this was for a special occasion, it was, our anniversary. However, there was nothing like a complimentary dessert or anything. So why even ask?
I love the Palm Court Grill. It bespeaks of a time of elegance and class. Our service was exceptional as was our food.
Two ambiance options here. The floor area to enjoy the beautiful lobby and people watch. The booth area is perfect for quite conversation. The food is great. Salmon was excellent. We have enjoyed this place for years.
