Palm Court at the Carltun
Coupled with the Wine Spectator magazine's recognition of its wine list as one of the "...most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world," our diners have the best atmosphere conceivable for an extraordinary dining experience.
Ice Cream Sundae
Yellowfin Tuna Sauted Rare Served Over Wasabi Aioli
Loved it! Outside dining was perfect!
Service was not good at all. Waiters were very inexperienced for such a high end restaurant.
Food was very good but it took away from the overall experience
Not sure what happened to this place. We always really enjoyed going in the past. This was the first time going in a few months and my wife and I are not in a hurry to go back. The only part of the meal we enjoyed was the Seafood tower. We should have stopped there, paid the check and left. Too bad. Use to be a special place to go.
Our waiter Juan jose was fantastic
And was very accommodating
We love coming here
We had the French wine dinner. The first course was a charcuterie plate, the wine was okay but the plate was put down and the server walked away. No explanation of what the plate contained. There were only 4 tables occupied when we were there, so it isn't like the servers were over whelmed. We had to ask the busboy to get our waiter. He was too busy taking care of a table of 6 - bride and groom with parents having a tasting dinner for their reception. The second course which was snapper was very good but again we had to wait for the wine pour, so snapper was lukewarm by the time we ate it. Filet mignon was good but again service just dragged everything down. Service is very important to most guests and the lack of service was a big disappointment. We have been to restaurants all over the world - caring about your client and a smile makes good food marvelous. The opposite was displayed at the Palm Court. Maybe they should stick with their catering business because that seems to be their MAIN focus!!
The service improved so much...The food was always delicious but the service was so poor.
Now we went and enjoyed both! Great food and great service.
Had dinner on 2/22/2020. Service was awful! Bartender doesn't know how to mix a drink. Ordered Malibu with cranberry & pineapple, not even stirred. Our waiter was horrible!! would disappear for long periods of time (15-20) min. 20 min wait for a glass of wine. Would have been nice to enjoy it with my meal. Mind you, the dining room was only 1/2 full. Ordered the "Baron Von Carltun" cappuchino, unfortunately, the machine has been broken for at least a week. Over $500 for dinner (for 4) & I can't get a cappuchino??? Ridiculous!! Hey management - Bed, Bath & Beyond is about 1 mile away...go buy a new machine. Totally unacceptable!!!!! As one of my fellow diners said, we would have gotten better service at Applebee's. Will definitely NOT be returning to the Palm Court.
Beautiful ambience and food was exceptional
Overall a good experience. I would stay away from the Lobster Bisque - its more like Lobster broth! :)
The Sea Bass was excellent as was their Osso Bucco based dish.
Spent Valentine’s Day with my sweetie there and had a great time . Waiters were very attentive and the food was impressive with the presentation and taste! They also had music playing with a duo which added to the special time.
Wonderful place for a special dinner. Attention to detail is wonderful..a step up. Great wine list too
Overall my experience was positive. My only complaint was I wish when I made the reservation I was told that in that day they would only have a limited prix fixed menu.
Limited Valentines Day menu which was average in quality and very overpriced, so we were disappointed - hard a couple of other guests voice similar concerns - they took advantage of their customer with this special occasion and missed the mark - we will avoid special days at this restaurant and try once more on a normal night with their full menu
Food was gourmet and delicious, but we were unaware that they were charging/ GOUGING an outlandish price of $95 per person just for the pix fix meal, no drinks or anything else included, absolutely egregious!
It was much less impressive than last time. Manager Manny was less than attentive. Our food landed on another table before we received it... lukewarm. Valentine’s Day lunch a complete letdown.Drinks list unavailable and I’m pretty sure we were overcharged. Didn’t want a fuss in the dining room. Won’t be back!
My husband and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with a wonderful lunch at the Palm Court. Service, good , and atmosphere could not have been better.
Had a wonderful evening with my wife...food and service met our expectations for a Valentine's dinner without the kids!!!
We went to dinner to celebrate my Mother’s Birthday!! Fabulous food, fabulous server ~ Jaime. He as well as everyone else was on top of everything. Filling our glasses with water etc..It was a really fabulous experience. The filet!!!!! Yum
Everything was excellent till I realized they included their tip then also added it again to cover some service fee so then the tip came to 40% . do not plan to go back at any time nor will I recommend it . No Wonder why most tables were empty . 😝
We’ve celebrated many special occasions at The Carltun over the years and this was one that was not up to par. We recently came for Sunday brunch in honor of my daughter’s birthday. The first issue was when the waiter brought the first and second course at the same time-we then had all of these plates piled on the table. This should’ve been times out better. I personally ordered the steak and eggs and unfortunately, the steak came out extremely rare when I ordered it medium. After locating the waiter several minutes later and telling him that it wasn’t cooked well, he took the steak away to be properly cooked. Well, everyone had finished their meals and I basically finished mine, less the steak and lost my appetite having to wait so long for it to be brought back -the waiter had completely forgot about it. He was nice enough to pack it up but that’s not what I wanted. I wanted to enjoy my meal the way it was ordered in the first place. Just to add to this-the restaurant was not crowded at all and this shouldn’t have happened. Very disappointed this time.
It’s was a little hard to hear otherwise great experience!
Driving up to the Palm, the entrance was decorated beautifully for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. We were attending Restaurant Week, but have been to the Palm before. We were seated immediately and the server arrived at our table quickly; introduced himself, took our drink order and said to take our time and signal him when we were ready. So far so good, but the main entree was very poor.
We both had filet mignon; while cooked to medium like we requested, both steaks had absolutely no taste. It was probably the cheapest cut of meat you could buy.
This was a very disappointing dining experience.
It’s restaurant week, so we took advantage of the pre-fix menu. Our waiter, Jamie took our order. We all ordered to Petite Filet Mignon. Each of us had a different preference for how we liked our steaks cooked. My husband asked for medium rare, I asked for medium, and we were very specific when we ordered our Mom’s. We stressed that it has to be well done, no pink whatsoever. Jamie said he understood and he would make sure it was well done.
After three apologies for the long wait and close to 1 1/2 hours later, our entree’s finally came out. Mom’s steak was not well done! It was medium with a red center. Everything she didn’t want! So we immediately asked to have it cooked some more. However, mine was cremated but had a blue cheese topping so I couldn’t pass it over to my Mom. I didn’t send it back because I just didn’t want to wait anymore for my food, so I settled for what was served to me. Jamie was very apologetic for the mix up with our steaks the very long wait. My Mom finally got her steak as we finished our dinner and it was once again not well done but she ate around the medium pieces. We were all so fed up and just didn’t want to wait anymore.
This was supposed to be a lovely family mid-week meal and it turned out to be an ordeal and two of us ended up with food we did not order. It was all so very disappointing as I have been a fan of The Carltun for many years and finally persuaded my Mom to go there.
I am not sure if it was the kitchen’s fault or our waiter’s but either way, we should have gotten the food we ordered and in a timely manner. I don’t think that’s an unrealistic expectation.
We went for the first time during restaurant week. Everything was wonderful, until we got our bill. They had already put the tip on, which we have never seen for two people. It ruined a beautiful evening. We normally tip 23% on the entire meal, so sadly the waiter got much less. We will think twice about eating at the Palm Court in the future.
Manny G was so pleasant and welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
Restaurant week portion was “2 bites” of steak! Appetizer seafood was “1 bite”! Don’t come hungry!!!
We went for restaurant week. Main course portion was a little small. Otherwise it was a wonderful dining experience
Went for bunch. The palm court was completely empty the entire time. There is a reason why. The food was over buttered, over cooked and sub par.
Could’ve had a better meal at a diner, and that’s not saying much!
When a restaurant is empty for brunch, it’s either the economy or the food and we all know which one it isn’t.
A lot of room to improve.
I was surprised we were the only people in the place and they sat us in the back near the door I had to ask to be moved to the window area overlooking the golf course
The food was good but the shrimp appetizer was so tough I could hardly cut it with the knife . The rest of the meal was very nice and very nicely presented
The ambiance is beautiful but today for some reason the service was marginal - usually the service is very good
I have come for lunch many times and usually we are seated in a nice area since it usually isn’t crowded and the service is usually very good
I certainly would recommend the Palm Court I think as with anyplace sometimes you can have an off day
Beautiful, elegant restaurant with good variety of delicious food. Great for celebrating special occasions.
For the past 10 years we are going to this place but never I have the most bad food the fish was to hard no flavor the sup no good
They have a new cheff
WE HAVE BEEN TO THE PALM COURT MANY TIMES..IT ALWAYS COMES THROUGH... THE HOLIDAY ATMOSPHERE IS WONDERFUL.
Service was a little slow but food was superb!
Went here with another couple for our annual Christmas Dinner and night out. The service was outstanding and our entree’s were just great! Thank you for such a great evening.
Frozen peas used in the risotto (a few of them were still frozen), was never approached for a second glass of water, there for 2 hours since there was one waiter that was busy tending other (larger) tables, I put in my OpenTable specifications that this was for a birthday and the waiter comes over and asks if there is any occasion to celebrate, chairs are super uncomfortable.
Absolutely the most delicious dinner that we’ve had all year, and we’ve had some amazing dinners! Top notch all the way. Can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful holiday dinner.
The Italian wine tasting menu was terrific.
Fadi as usual picks the best pairings.
Very underwhelming. We ordered a special that was very expensive and not properly explained. It was clearly not for 2. Our appetizer had no taste. Steak was under cooked. Steak sauce was brought out after we were done eating. We were told we’d be getting lobster for two ot was one lobster tail that did not taste fresh. We had gotten married at the carltun and wanted to celebrate our anniversary but the food was not of quality we remembered it being. Really disappointed. Only plus was the atmosphere and live music.
