Palisade Ratings and Reviews
I went here to celebrate my husbands birthday and they had the table decorated with some rose petals and a little happy birthday note for him. These little details went a long way, it made us feel special. We sat near the large windows over looking the Water and it was beautiful. I ordered the Waygu steak and it was worth every penny! I would definitely come here again.
Everything was perfect . The service was magnificent from the moment our car door was opened by the valet until we were back in the car again. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. He made great suggestions for dinner--we had the Chef's recommended Seafood Trio. Perfectly prepared. Service was prompt, but we were not rushed st all. Just a perfect evening!!!
We enjoyed our meal and the service was all extremely friendly, and mostly timely. The views of the city and harbor were also spectacular. We especially liked the poke appetizer. The wagyu top sirloin and king salmon entrees were both good, but I wouldn't say particularly special at the price point compared to other local options. Unfortunately, it seems like one or more of the dishes had dairy in it, in spite of sharing my girlfriend's dairy allergy and she paid for it the next day :( Be very careful / clear if you have any food allergies!
I think you should spend a little more time focusing on the food. The black cod was way over cooked and dry. The salmon was over cooked as well but on the plank it could handle it a little better.
We asked for a table of 7 well into the dining room with great views of the city for a special occasion. We were pushed up into the bus stand on the upper level next to the bar. Not very special. Leaving +$600 at the table for a average evening, I’m glad we were all in a good mood.
This restaurant has a fabulous view over a huge marina with a South exposure and floor to ceiling glass. Very bright and cheerful. The food presentation was very nice and was delicious. Our waitress was having a bad day (she was having some personal problems) but still did a reasonable job. This place has an ambiance worth checking out.
I had a lovely brunch to celebrate my sister's 75th Birthday. By arranging this beforehand the staff had set-up a perfect window seat with a Happy Birthday card and rose pedals on the table. Our seafood Louie salads and service was excellent. We have been coming to the Palisades for many years, especially for special occasions and have never been disappointed.
Brought our son and his girlfriend from Japan here for a special dinner on their visit. It was perfect! The view was beautiful with Seattle's waterfront and the food was incredible! Our waitress was very friendly and informative. My husband let her choose his meal and she was spot on even remembering that he catches salmon so she replaced part of the seafood trio with halibut cheeks instead of salmon. A wonderful evening and more!!
We used to go to Palisades fairly regularly — especially for their Sunday brunches — but got out of the habit for no particular reason. I'm so glad that we went back recently to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was incredible on many levels—the food (presentation, variety, taste, creativity), the ambience, the view, the attentive but not intrusive service, everything. We will most definitely not wait long to return for our next delightful meal. They lived up to their impeccable reputation once again!
This is our fourth time eating at Palisade for our anniversary. We ended up seated around two families with small children so the atmosphere was not as romantic as we had hoped and there was an issue with our food but management has been in contact with us and unexpectedly offered an opportunity to provide a better experience. We love the view and the ambience and this visit doesn't reflect our typical experience; usually it is utterly perfect and wonderful. Despite an anomaly of a visit, we are looking forward to future visits at the Palisade!
We ordered Pinot noir wine ( their most expensive one), a poke appetizer, crab stuffed shrimp and the salmon dinner plate. The wine was excellent, the poke was passable, but not the best. The two main courses were barely edible. In fact neither of us could eat more than 15 or 20% of our meal. It tasted like old frozen crab, shrimp and fish. It was flavorless, and was accompanied by what can only described as a vegetable mush. My date had picked the place and I only read the reviews just before getting into my car to leave for dinner. Many of the reviews were scary, but It seemed too late to make any other reservations. I should have heeded the other reviews... everybody is not telling the same lie. This food is positively the worst that I have had at any time in recent memory. Any other restaurant choice would have been better, even McDonalds. At least it would have been edible. The positive reviews for this restaurant must certainly be phony because all the bad reviewers are telling the same story. Old, tough, tasteless, Awful food !
Palisade has a gorgeous marina and city view. The restaurant is very open and the food is delicious. Fresh ingredients, cooked just right, and excellent customer service. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive towards us and all their other guests. Highly recommended.
Our waiter was obviously too busy to pay close attention to us. I give him good marks when he was paying attention to us but all in all he was a disappointment.
Also, you should always place the champagne bucket on the mans side so he can pour for his wife.
Very disappointed with standard of food - prime rib was dry and king salmon was overcooked. Bread pudding had no taste and Hamachi sashimi was dry and tasteless. All in all, a forgettable experience. To top it, we were charged a low wage supplement that does not obviate diners from gratuities - with price of menu items, restaurant is having a laugh.
Excellent view, tired menu, not particularly well executed.
We’ve been coming here for special occasion dinners and happy hours for years. Admittedly this is the first dinner in about a year, however the menu looks the same as from quite a long time ago. Had hoped for more NW seafood selections. Ordered the cedar plank King Salmon that was OK. (Small filet on cedar with assorted squash medallions) Others ordered the Seafood Fettuccine that was fishy and lackluster. Service passable, though not particularly attentive. Appetizer of crab and lobster dip (eh) served but no silverware on table. Server not particularly concerned, though finally brought some over. Party of 3, one appetizer, 2 cocktails, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, and a lower end bottle of wine for $350. The Value is not there. Excellent Seafood in Seattle is a given, or maybe not. Saltys anyone?
Disappointing evening. Went to Palisades for a classic seafood meal. I knew the menu was traditional and we were looking for the perfect execution of the classic dishes. Ordered the Lobster Bisque and the Seafood trio. The bisque had good flavor but was a huge bowl, with almost no crab or lobster. The seafood trio included scallops, salmon, and a prawn. The prawn was huge and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the scallops lacked a good sear and the salmon was soft in the middle, cooked well, but the texture was a real disappointment. When we go to a restaurant with a classic menu the execution of the meal is what sets it apart, and the execution at the Palisades was lacking.
My fiance and I have been to Palisade before and did not have a good experience. We thought we should give it another try to see if the reason why we didn't like it before was due to the food ordered. We got seated at 5pm and ordered off of the Chef's Early Prixe Fixe menu (3 course menu for $36). I got the lobster bisque, seafood fettuccini and the hazelnut bread pudding. I was satisfied with the food I ordered. Everything was very tasty. The service was great and the view is amazing. I'm glad we decided to give Palisade another try. We will definitely be back, especially with the Chef's Prix Fixe menu available - it's very worth it!
This restaurant offered only a buffet dinner for Christmas Day - ordering from the menu was not an option. The food was not good - probably because it was a buffet and things were sitting out for extended periods, or they had run out of things. Each course required traipsing across the restaurant (it's huge); the prices were very high for what amounted to a self-service dining experience. I've eaten in many fine restaurants in Seattle; this was not one of them.
Unfortunately, the Christmas buffet was not worth the price, especially given there was a hair in my date's food. The overall taste of what was served was pretty bland, save for the goat cheese mashed potatoes and the smoked salmon. The service was unbelievable, though. Our server was phenomenal and the views were unbeatable. I just can't believe they served that quality of food for the price.
