I have to to Palisade since it opened, and had many nice meals there. Now I am old and tired, and so is this restaurant. The food today was abysmally bad. The fish was dried out, heavily salted, and stringy, and the chips were overdone sliced new potatoes. The cole slaw had no taste. The starter, a lobster bisque, was ok but small. And true to recent form, the wine pours were stingy. The waitress was pleasant and did provide good service, with a special birthday dessert not anticipated. Bur that glow was extinguished by the minimum wage service charge, which shows up in the total as an unexpected add-on to very high prices. The furnishings are the original and show the wear. And I don't believe the Yamaha Diskklavier piano has been treated with a new floppy disc for z long, long time.
My sadness also comes from the fact that I was outside legal counsel for Restaurants Unlimited , the company that opened the restaurant and considered it to be the jewel of their locations. They taught me that all Restaurants need to be refurbished after 7 years - that time has long elapsed for Palisade

I have always wanted to try the weekend brunch buffet at the Palisades. We finally had a chance to do it this past weekend for a birthday celebration. The food was overall bland and not worth $52 per adult. Food choices were non exciting and quality minimal at best. The dessert station was a mere 6 different choices compared to at least 20 at Salty’s. Seafood was not fresh. The shells on the prawns were black and the crabs were small and non appetitizng. What’s most disturbing to me was we found a long piece of hair on top of the fruit on my son’s plate upon his return from the fruit station. When we told the server about it, he promptly said it’s hard to control these things at a buffet because of so many people (customers) handling the food. Less than a minute later, as I was diving into my French toast, I found yet another piece of hair in it. This time, it was not just on top, but mixed in with the egg batter. It was just apalling. None of us ate much because of that. It was just unsettling to see two pieces of hair less than one minute apart. When we left, we saw their safety hygiene report tucked away on the far left of their door, marked “GOOD”, when we all expected “EXCELLENT”. One word. Disappointing. Will never go back again.

I visited here for my birthday dinner. This place is beautiful but food is not worth it. My husband and I ordered two cocktails to begin with and we also ordered the sampler tower. We added crab legs on the tower. The cocktails were good although the sampler tower was very disappointing. The shrimps and lobsters on the tower were awfully over cooked . They were chewy like rubber. The poke was under seasoned. Oysters were ok. The crab legs that we added were good and that was the ONLY food both my self and my husband liked from the entire dinner. I ordered wagyu steak with wine paring for my entree and my husband ordered the seafood trio with wine pairing. The steak was horrible. We can cook it better at home than what they gave me. The scallops on the seafood trio were tender but under seasoned. The salmon was fishy and my husband is a kind of person who eats mackerel sashimi and doesn’t think that’s fishy. So I was surprised when he said his salmon was fishy after he took a bite of his salmon. I took a bite to and oh it was fiiiiiishyyyy. The flourless chocolate cake was ok. We spend a little bit less than 2 hours here and paid around $300 for the drinks and food and more for tips. We don’t mind spending a few hundred dollars for a good meal but the meal we got from Palisades were definitely not worth $300. It is just too bad. This place is very beautiful and I want to go back and enjoy the atmosphere but their food is just not worth to eat again. The service was ok but also definitely not worth tipping 20% of $300. If you are looking for a place with a gorgeous view, Canlis would be a better choice. If you are looking for a place with a good meal, beautiful interior and fantastic service, The georgian would be a better choice. If you want a good steak with a nice view, Daniel’s broiler in Leschi would be better. There wagyu is much better than here. If you want to eat ONLY crab legs in a beautiful restaurant, you can go here.

The holiday lights from the boats just added to the festive, but calm atmosphere. The food and drinks were delicious as always, and the service was first rate.

The ambiance and service was exceptional. The food left much to be desired—seafood over cooked, pasta stuck together and lumpy as well as overdone. Three of the four of us did not finish our dinners. We will not return.

Terrible. Lost in time. $50 for brunch that taste worse than a cheap hotels continental breakfast. Outdated. Salty’s is 100x better. Even Ivars salmon house runs is 10x better.

The food was excellent but the staff was overwhelmed by the number of tables. It took over 45 minutes from COMPLETING our appetizer before our meals arrived. In the meantime our water and ale glasses were empty for 20 minute stretches. Loved the atmosphere and if you’re going to be ignored, it’s a great place to hangout. We did miss our show we were going to afterward and the only conciliatory remark from our waiter was the cooks over cooked the steak? I definitely will return in the future but not when I don’t have more then two hours and I’m prehydrated.

Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. When we arrived we were greeted at the front door and we immediately seated. They had rose pedals on the table with a little card that said happy birthday. The food was good but pricy as expected. Our server was real nice and polite. Dessert was great and they wrote happy birthday on plate with dessert. Overall it was a great restaurant, wouldn’t go there on a regular basis but for dates here there it is great.

Size of portions decreased especially kids meal. It was served on a small salad plate with steak piled on top of potatoes rather pathetic in appearance
Was surprised since previous visits food was better presented
Got the Surf and Turf and steak portion well done was super small
Also hidden fee in the bill for waiters wage that wasn’t part of tax or gratuity and didn’t realize til looked at the bill later so ended up paying a huge amount including gratuity ( look at bill carefully!)

Excellent service, front desk and end. Happy with our dinner service from appetizer thru the dessert, only issue they run out of halibut after I’ve placed my food. Not sure why they run out of it so far, it was a 6:00 dinner reservation. I end up just substitute a different fish was still kinda disappointed. Otherwise will still go back in the future, would be great from the kitchen staff to update what items are not available for service.

Service is always friendly and professional and I’ve yet to be disappointed with the quality of the food.

We had reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet this year. The restaurant was really crowded and while I appreciate that it was a busy night for the restaurant I believe it could have been managed better. The buffet area was really dirty and there was nobody refilling the buffet stations. It was Thanksgiving and there was no turkey or potatoes available when I was there. There were lots of other empty dishes and lots of messes made by people passing through the tables that werent being cleaned up by staff. Our waiter came and brought us our drinks and only appeared one more tome( to bring us our bill) in the 90 minutes we were there. This was a reservation only dinner so the establishment was aware of exactly how many diners were attending and should have planned staffing and food quantities accordingly. It was not inexpensive (65 or 70 dollars a head plus beverages). The restaurant is lovely -as is the view. I would try it again during regular business hours to see if maybe our experience was just a holiday fluke.

I have to begin with a disclaimer - I have only been there for a Thanksgiving buffet, which needless to say does not represent the normal situation. However, I have to say that the Thanksgiving buffet spread was perfect - there was the standard fare for that holiday, plus lots of seafood, salads, and wonderful desserts. I think the food is rather basic - not "fit for foodies" as they say - no exotic, trendy things ... but everything was wonderfully delicious, including fresh crab, shrimp, oysters, etc. The service was outstanding too, which is especially impressive because it was an absolute mob scene on Thanksgiving - it was very well managed. While unfortunately it was after dark, so I could not fully enjoy the Marina view, the nighttime view of the Seattle skyline from the restaurant was spectactular! All in all this was a 5-star experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for its holiday buffet - and I hope to find out what it is like on a regular day as well.

I am a long time patron of Palisade. Palisade opened in 1992 and I have been a "regular" there since 1993. I have never been disappointed in the service, food and overall excellence of Palisade. I can recall times when the staff of the restaurant have gone out of there way to insure my evening was perfect, such as the time they were able to secure a cab for me in a matter of minutes so I could make it to Benaroya when my other transportation failed to show up on time. From the valet to the hostess to the wait staff, I know of no other place in Seattle that has shown me the service and excellence of the Palisade. And for that alone I will continue to dine there for another 20 + years. Highly recommended!

I realize it was thanksgiving and very busy but I felt as if we were rushed through our dinner even though we were only there for an hour and forty five minutes from the moment we were seated until we were out the door. The lighting was way too dark— candle at the table was lit but we still could not see what we were eating. I thought it was just me but my younger daughter asked if I could even see what was on my plate.

The Thanksgiving buffet was amazing! The quality and variety of food was exceptional. Service, as always, was perfect! They were very busy, and even so, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly by the hostess and her crew, and our server, Stephanie, did a great job tending to all of the diners' needs. I'm not a turkey fan, usually, but the turkey was the best I can remember having. We truly love dining at Palisade, and we will make Thanksgiving at Palisade a tradition. It really was excellent in every way.

Best brunch buffet in Seattle. Our service was top notch. There were so many options that one cannot leave without being filled to the brim. It feels removed from the hustle and bustle of a growing city. Ample parking options.

Most disappointing visit to this restaurant to date. We started with the crab and lobster bisque which had a nice flavor but the only chunks were croutons, no seafood. I had the small portion prime rib, my husband had the surf and turf. Both meat orders were cooked as ordered but sub-standard quality cuts. Very chewy and not much flavor. This has always been a go-to treat here but not this time. The salmon was ordered rare but came well done. One butterflied prawn. We went for the Crème brûlée trio. Chocolate, vanilla, and butterscotch - flavor distinction of the latter two was almost undetectable and obviously just pulled from the fridge. Nice carmelized top but cold interior.

Lastly, this was one of my top restaurants to take corporate guests to because of the food, service, and views and the points I gain I use to treat my husband to make up for those evenings I’m gone. Apparently at Palisades if you don’t use them in 6 months and don’t turn them into “dining dollars” they go away. I apparently didn’t get that memo or read that fine print and although I should have had hundreds and hundreds (or more) points, this disappointing dinner came out of our wallets. Thank goodness Aqua/El Gaucho’s, Rays, etc. doesn’t have this policy. Although the service couldn’t have been better, given all the fabulous restaurants in Seattle doubt I’ll/we’ll be back. Much to our chagrin. That being said, recent brunch events (2) were as good as expected.

View was an A+ and a couple of the food items were good, but unfortunately most food items ordered by those in our group of 5 people were stuck in a 1980s time wrap. We really wanted to like this close-by long-time restaurant with its really lovely views and super easy parking, but were pretty disappointed to spend $400 to find out it's not worth it!

We may have eaten at Elliot's a millions times, enjoyed its not-as-good water views, and wrestled with their parking but at least it's almost always high quality in food and service. Next time we want top quality seafood with a WATER VIEW we'll go back to Elliot's (or to Waterfront Restaurant, Ray's or Anthony's).

This dinner was a special occasion for 2 of our group celebrating birthdays. This was mentioned during the confirmation call received the day prior and the waiter asked "who is celebrating a birthday"......but no other recognition made. I guess we were assuming at least a candle, small cake, or something to recognize this event? Other than that, dinner was great and service very good.
