Palette at Phoenix Art Museum
The menu showcases local farmers and producers, providing guests an artfully delicious experience!
Food was very good and fresh. Seemed a bit noisy but there was a really large group on one side.
Wonderful to be able to eat comfortably outside on the patio at the end of January and enjoy a pleasant courtyard and good food!
Adjacent to the Phoenix Art Museum and a couple of steps to Phoenix Little Theater, Pallette had a nice selection. Warning - salads are huge. Wild caught salmon and asparagus great for low carb diet. Table service person seemed really really new but she was sincere and there were no missteps or delays in food. Actually one misstep. The confirmation I received from Open Table for 2 was spot on. But when we got there, they only had a table for 18 for a John Westlake. hmmmm We were there when they first opened so no problem getting a prime table.
We were there for happy hour, glass wines for 5 dollars. Very good food if you are visiting the museum I definitely recommend
We asked for adjustments to our orders and it came out without the requests. The server was very nice and took the 2 lunches back. The replaced lunches were perfect and they provided a discount for the error. Great service by our server in e try respect.
Lovely, relaxing setting, very good food, and our server, Teresa, was gracious and friendly, and accurate. Nice to be able to hear each other! A fine experience.
Excellent service, lovely outside dining, good food.
Two of us ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which was touted as the "Best in Phoenix". Don't order it! It was very, very skimpy on the cheddar and goat cheeses. The chef just put a small dab in the center of the bread and melting didn't help spread it. A slice of tomato was added just making it soggy. Not good taste or value. Three others in the party were pleased with their choices. The hamburger with avocado looked good. The quinoa salad and fries were excellent. The desserts were outstanding. I'd recommended Palette again to friends but would order differently, for sure.
Dined there recently before a performance at the adjacent theater. Reservation was at 12;45, performance at 2. Seated promptly outdoors - very nice setting. Four people. Two waters brought. And then no service. Our table apparently was not assigned to any waiter. We had to wave to any one coming near us to order drinks, get two more waters, order food. We explained we had theater at 2 so a little bit of a rush. It is now 1:25 and no food has arrived - tables next to us seated later than us have already been served food. After going to some random waiter the food is brought out, now 1:35 - lukewarm and showing signs of being under a heat lamp for some period. The eggs in my eggs benedict are overcooked hard boiled eggs. And no one has brought us napkins and silverware - I have to find a manager to ask for these, twice. Was one of my favorite restaurants but needs some cooking and service adjustments.
We came 90 minutes before a play and ended up walking away after we did not receive any service for 30 minutes
It feels like coffee shop and it is...the museum coffee shop but the food is good and the service is attentive and it is a great quiet place to meet before heading downtown for a game or a show
Went there prior to a matinee at the theater. Service was quick and efficient while the food was delicious.
Service was very slow but the meal was excellent. I'd recommend getting there more than an hour before any event that begins at a fixed time.
Excellent meal, well prepared. Fresh ingredients. We will be back.
The reservation process was seamless and very welcoming. The space on Mother's Day was crowded yet manageable for a party of three. The menu selections were well prepared and tasty. There was a haste for the second course to be served without the first course completely finished. Toward the end of the meal and end of the service time, the dessert table was not refurbished. Overall great experience!!!
our service was not as good as usual. no refilling of bev. glass; no how is everything.
We met up with friends for a show at the Phoenix Theatre and it was great parking once and doing both! Food and service were terrific and a good option for all theatre goers in downtown Phoenix.
Had a wonderful experience
We had reservations at Palette prior to a show in the Gallery at 7pm and were with a family member from out of town. We arrived just prior to 6pm, only to be told that it would be 30 minutes before they could seat any reservations and that it was unlikely that food could be ordered because their kitchen was so backed up. There was great confusion at the check-in desk, angry customers and several empty tables. We were starving and asked if we could order a glass of wine and purchase some potato chips that were in a basket at the check-in desk. They allowed us to do that, but it took about 15 minutes as the cash register was slow or broken, and getting a couple of glasses of wine seemed to take 2 people and 2 different cash registers. We finally seated ourselves at an outside table, and even though there was a server helping tables next to us, not once did they acknowledge us. We ate our chips and drank our wine, and left without any dinner. It was a terrible experience. We have never seen such poor service and disorganization at ANY restaurant.
Service was very slow
Palette is among the top tier of museum restaurants that we have experienced: Fresh and creative food, pleasant surroundings, and attentive but not intrusive service. We enjoyed the prix fixe special offerings for St. Valentine,s Day.
I ate at the Palette before & it was absolutely amazing. However, my Valentine’s Day experience was not. I did not realize how pricey their V-Day special would be & when I asked if my date & I could split, the manager said no. We drove over two hours to come and were expected to pay 100+ dollars for a meal (a beautiful meal) but unfortunately not a meal within my price range. So instead of finding a way to accommodate us, we were forced to leave. I was really disappointed. The restaurant looked beautiful, our waitress was very sweet, but the manager did not seem to be. Maybe if I had put up a fuss I could have changed the outcome but I am not that person. I just wish they would have been much more understanding. So instead we had to walk humiliatingly out of the restaurant.
Very good. We will come back again for pre-theatre dinner when seeing a show at the adjacent Phoenix Theatre.
This was a birthday and get together celebration. It was my girlfriends first time dinning at Palette. We had a fantastic time and the brie appetizer was delicious. Not to forget the local wine Chardonnay from Stronghold was superb. And what a perfect addition to end our dinning experience with your delectable gelato espresso + just the right amount of cappuccino. Will definitely, be coming back. Thank you!
Disappointed in changed menu, miss the curry chicken sandwich. The replacement Brazilian sandwich a disappointment.
as usual, great service and food. dined before phoenix theatre.
My husband had the fish tacos with pineapple and he said they were the best he'd ever had.
Some of the best food I have ever had! Worth the trip!
Our Sunday Brunch, pre theatre was wonderful. The food was quite tasty and fresh. I had the Spinach Benedict and it was delicious. The ham was local and tender, the eggs very fresh, the spinach cooked just right and the sauce was wonderful. And no skimping here! I usually ask for extra sauce, but everything was quite adequate, even the ham. My friend ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich with a side of greens, and a side order of Parmesan Fries. She had the Fries once before and loved them, but this time she said they were lacking in the parmesan department. We did mention that to our server and hope he passed it on to the chef. After enjoying her fries, such as they were, and the greens, she was too full for the sandwich so took it to go. It did look wonderful however. Plenty of chicken salad between some great looking seeded bread. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, and I look forward to returning again.
The previous incarnation of this restaurant was an upscale restaurant with outstanding service and great food worthy of being associated with the Phoenix Art Museum. The current version, while still a good restaurant, has a weaker menu and an ordinary atmosphere. Service is still good , but the menu has been significantly downgraded although I still consider it worthy. The price for the value received is a bit high but not so high as to keep one from coming. The overall aura of this restaurant is worth eating here when attending the museum or the Phoenix theater next door, but I would not make a special; trip to eat here.
Great food and super service. We had the beet salad, "best" sandwich and salted caramel gelato with a bottle of Arizona wine. Will go back for sure.
This was a great spot for dinner before the show at Phoenix Theatre. The menu was short but varied and the prices very reasonable. Service was impeccable. It was a nice alternative to all the pricey restaurants that are in the area. We would definitely go again!
Four of us had dinner here before going to the Phoenix Theater. It couldn't be more convenient as you park at the theater and walk about 20 steps from the restaurant to the theater. The restaurant is a nice place to go if you're at the museum and want to have a meal. The décor is very much like a cafeteria, though there is waiter service. Pork tacos, fish and chips and fish tacos were all good, just not great. The service was very good and the food came out of the kitchen quickly.
What a wonderful experience for Mother's Day – couldn't of asked for something better so many choices on the menu, such good fresh food. Really, really enjoyed every part of it. The basil syrup with the shortcake on the dessert bar was an amazing touch. Thank you for making Mother's Day special
I eat lunch here whenever I bring guests to a the museum. Food was as great as usual, but service was not as good as in past visits. Perhaps they were understaffed that day.
The Pallette Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a bite to eat and have a drink before your theatre performance. Beat the crowd, park just once, and enjoy your evening.
I always enjoy dining at the Palette Restaurant. The service is quick and friendly. The food is so fresh. I get the same thing every time I go. That would be the Farmer's Market sandwich with grilled chicken, dates, apple, bacon, lettuce, and pesto Mayo on Prarie bread. They have a choice of fresh fruit, green salad, or quinoa. Great quinoa salad with fresh mangoes. Their mango ice tea is delicious. Had their Gelato for the first time and loved it. Great place before touring the Phx Museum or attending a performance next door at the Phx Theater. Try it, you will like it.
We made reservations for dinner at the Palette prior to attending a play at Phoenix Theatre. Initially, we were a little put off by being seated away from the window near the bar. The hostess did move us when we requested a table near the window (note to self, add a note to the next reservation requesting a window table). We enjoyed the warm vegetable plate with a nice spicy sauce and a great kale salad prior. It would have been nice to have had a large spoon to take portions from the salad bowl. Overall, the service was good, although a little slow in delivering and collecting the bill. We also found the noise level to be a little loud which bothered us a bit.
We ate at Palette before a museum lecture - really glad we made that choice. Service was excellent and prompt; food was great, and atmosphere is perfect.
