Palette at Phoenix Art Museum
The menu showcases local farmers and producers, providing guests an artfully delicious experience!
Good food. VERY slow service. Went on Valentines Day and it wasn’t busy enough to justify to long wait for food and drinks.
No host to greet guests, very unorganized, bright lights, tables set up like a cheap diner, food was good; never recommended for a special event
Four of us had lunch before the wonderful performance I Americana. All four of us were very happy with our lunch experience, good food and great setting. Very happy overall and will happily return.
Met a friend from out of town at Palette for lunch before visiting the art museum. It was perfect, the modern ambiance, attentive servers and nice varied menu choices.
I enjoy palette on a regular basis. the food is good and the service is ok if not better. I have been dining here before a show for at least 5 years. the grilled salmon is outstanding.
We had a lovely lunch at Palette at the Phoenix Art Museum. We were seated promptly at a lovely table in the corner with window views all around. Our server, Teresa, was outstanding from start to finish! I had a cup of the butternut squash as an appetizer. It is delicious and rich and I could have had it as my meal. My husband had the Diablo deviled eggs. They had southwest seasoning offering a splendid start to his meal. I ordered the chicken tacos. The soft tacos were well stuffed and I had to take one home since they were so filling. They were delicious! My husband had the grilled salmon with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. His meal was a nice size portion and was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Since we are art museum members, we got a discount on lunch too! Teresa was so customer focused and timed our meal perfectly! We will be back!
our server was totally disinterested. never asked if food was ok. never filled water glasses. unusual for palette.
Recommend this primarily as an outdoor venue. Its in the beautiful and calming courtyard of the Phoenix Art Museum, The food is also excellent and reasonably priced. The Kale and Bean Soup was especially tasty.
At first it didn't seem like we needed reservations but I'm glad we made them. After 12:00 people started to come in on this Saturday. My husband loved loved his burger and I the mission fig salad. Valerie? was a great waitperson.
It was so nice ☺️
Enjoyed have a dinner near the theatre. ambiance is a little sterile and cafeteria looking. Outside looked really inviting but it was very hot day. MY one complaint and what will keep me from returning is a charge on my bill. It was a surcharge for Prop 206 and reflects the 5.5% increase that the employer pays to benefit employees. to reflect this on my bill isn't consumer friendly and this just tells me what this employer thinks of their employees. These employees probably need even more. Im also surprised that the restaurant isn't open after the theatre lets folks out. It would have been great to have coffee and dessert.
We had the best time at Palette. The high quality food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was wonderful and the ambiance couldn't be better.
Great place food and atmosphere are great. Recommend this place to anyone looking for done good food and great art.
Teresa was a fabulous server. The wine she recommended was outstanding. Thank you....we will return again
The Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken, sliced figs, and blue cheese crumbles was outstanding! Service was slow but it did not matter to us.
You really can’t complain too much when dining in the beautiful setting of the Phoenix art museum. I always remember the years we dined in Chicago art museums and their other fine museums. Hard to match those. Mother’s Day was beautiful and the outdoor patio was very busy. Staff had a hard time keeping up with the rush. Food was decent. Not great. Value was good though. As far as the museum goes. This place is a gem and a phoenix treasure. Great Art displays. A beautiful building combined with a year round performing art center, which has it own restaurant and classy bar. We should be proud of this museum and accompanying restaurant. Palette is really a great lunch place.
Our reservation did start off negatively when we were told they could not seat us outside even though we had confirmed days ahead that we would certainly be seated outside (there were several empty tables outside so this was frustrating). The hostess was not particularly nice about it but the manager did end up pulling through and we were seated outside in a back corner. No view of the beautiful grounds (like the other tables had) but we were outside. Service was very slow but I'm hoping this was just because it was Mother's Day. The food was good, wine pours were tiny for the price but overall we enjoyed ourselves.
I have already written a very positive review about Palette for TripAdvisor.
Service, food, and convenience to Phoenix Theater Company.....all very good.
Average meals. Slow inattentive service. Perhaps the restaurant was short handed?
Going forward when our group comes downtown we’ll go elsewhere. This restaurant’s location doesn’t confer a captive audience.
Perfect way to start a theater matinee at The Phoenix Theater or a visit to the attached Phoenix Museum of Art. Pleasant setting with views of beautiful grounds, and patio seating if a nice day. Not a lot of menu options but enough. Food is wonderfully fresh. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday! First a morning visit to the Phoenix Art Museum's latest exhibits, then a delightful lunch at Palette. The food is delicious and moderately priced with lots of menu choices, the ambiance is lovely and the staff is friendly yet unobtrusive. They don't rush you through, so you feel comfortable with lingering and just enjoying a chat with a friend. Then, to top everything off, there is the Phoenix Theatre right across the sculpture garden to take in their latest play. Could there be a better way to spend a Saturday with a friend? Not in my book.
The food was excellent as well as the service. The lights were very bright and it certainly would have been better if they were dimmed for the evening. The patio looked great.
great for a pre-shoe dinner at the Phoenix Theater. Miss the Brie appetizer and wish the menu had a charcuterie plate.
We sat outside and listened to the water fountain.Very calm
Music inside slightly loud, but I am one who prefers little to no music in a dining room.
We were at Palette for lunch at noon after viewing the amazing Agnes Pelton exhibit. We were seated immediately outside which we requested. The view was gorgeous and table located in dappled shade. Our server Jason was very pleasant, had superior attention to detail and made great suggestions from the menu. The bacon lettuce tomato and chicken sandwich was beautiful . The butternut squash soup creamy with just the right amount of seasoning . The kale and white bean soup was also quite tasty. The little wedge salad featuring romaine, bacon, blue cheese and avocado was delectable and quite perfect for splitting.
Attending theater it was very convenient
Service was good but not great. Food was very good, a little pricey. Sitting outside was a definite 5 star with the exception of the metal chairs which were not very comfortable. None of the above would not stop us from returning. Overall a pleasant experience.
It was a lovely experience! Our server Ari was great. Food was delicious and ambiance was perfect for the evening! Thank you!
Food was very good and fresh. Seemed a bit noisy but there was a really large group on one side.
Wonderful to be able to eat comfortably outside on the patio at the end of January and enjoy a pleasant courtyard and good food!
Adjacent to the Phoenix Art Museum and a couple of steps to Phoenix Little Theater, Pallette had a nice selection. Warning - salads are huge. Wild caught salmon and asparagus great for low carb diet. Table service person seemed really really new but she was sincere and there were no missteps or delays in food. Actually one misstep. The confirmation I received from Open Table for 2 was spot on. But when we got there, they only had a table for 18 for a John Westlake. hmmmm We were there when they first opened so no problem getting a prime table.
We were there for happy hour, glass wines for 5 dollars. Very good food if you are visiting the museum I definitely recommend
We asked for adjustments to our orders and it came out without the requests. The server was very nice and took the 2 lunches back. The replaced lunches were perfect and they provided a discount for the error. Great service by our server in e try respect.
Lovely, relaxing setting, very good food, and our server, Teresa, was gracious and friendly, and accurate. Nice to be able to hear each other! A fine experience.
Excellent service, lovely outside dining, good food.
Two of us ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which was touted as the "Best in Phoenix". Don't order it! It was very, very skimpy on the cheddar and goat cheeses. The chef just put a small dab in the center of the bread and melting didn't help spread it. A slice of tomato was added just making it soggy. Not good taste or value. Three others in the party were pleased with their choices. The hamburger with avocado looked good. The quinoa salad and fries were excellent. The desserts were outstanding. I'd recommended Palette again to friends but would order differently, for sure.
Dined there recently before a performance at the adjacent theater. Reservation was at 12;45, performance at 2. Seated promptly outdoors - very nice setting. Four people. Two waters brought. And then no service. Our table apparently was not assigned to any waiter. We had to wave to any one coming near us to order drinks, get two more waters, order food. We explained we had theater at 2 so a little bit of a rush. It is now 1:25 and no food has arrived - tables next to us seated later than us have already been served food. After going to some random waiter the food is brought out, now 1:35 - lukewarm and showing signs of being under a heat lamp for some period. The eggs in my eggs benedict are overcooked hard boiled eggs. And no one has brought us napkins and silverware - I have to find a manager to ask for these, twice. Was one of my favorite restaurants but needs some cooking and service adjustments.
We came 90 minutes before a play and ended up walking away after we did not receive any service for 30 minutes
It feels like coffee shop and it is...the museum coffee shop but the food is good and the service is attentive and it is a great quiet place to meet before heading downtown for a game or a show
Went there prior to a matinee at the theater. Service was quick and efficient while the food was delicious.
