Love the lamb meatballs and tiny tuna tacos. If I were writing this review on just those 2 dishes, I would be giving this review a 4 or 4+ rating, but we had a couple of dishes that weren’t as good this time. We’re still exploring the menu.

I went here for dinner with work friends and had made a reservation on open table. They were not able to find the reservation but accommodated us with no trouble. The food was really good and it is a nice looking restaurant. Our waiter wasn't the best. At times he didn't seem to want to serve us, he didn't ask us if we wanted drinks, we had to grab him as he was walking by. If it was busy, I would have understood this, but it was pretty quiet that night and I am pretty sure he only had one other table. Also, when one person asked for a pina colada, he kind of made fun of her and acted insulted that she ordered it. He said "this is a rum bar" to which we said, yes, pina coladas are rum drinks. Where the restaurant went above and beyond was when open table thought I had no-showed due to them being unable to find the reservation. I asked Paladar to please remedy this with opentable so I don't get a strike against me, which they did, and they also sent me a gift card for my trouble. I will definitely go back and give it another try.

Uneven quality. Excellent food, terrible service. A kid next to us was lounging on the bench playing loud a video game, his mom bored to death. Appetizers, their famous avocado guacamole, came after the main course. Pity, food is really good if you don’t care about the service and delivery.

Had a reservation but it was a slow night and bar looked inviting, so my wife and I ate at the bar. Turns out happy hour pricing is available only at bar from 4-7 pm daily, and I highly recommend, $5 Mojitos and other drinks as well as food. Best part was Jose the bartender. As we were only people seated at the bar, Jose was able to explain and recommend some of the 77 rums available at the bar in a very relaxed and charming way. Food was great as were drinks. Jose was gracious enough to let us “sample” a few rums that he recommended. We definitely plan on returning and enjoying happy hour at bar.

We decided to try this place out since it was nearby. We found the ambiance to be very nice and the music gave us a party feel when we arrived. We were promptly seated and served. There are 80 or so rums on the menu and if you are chasing down some rare and hard to find rums, this is your place! The food on the other hand was not good. It was obvious to us it has been pre-prepared in advance and then slightly warmed before putting it on the plate. By the time the food arrived at the table it was a temperature slightly warmer than room temperature. It was a place we really wanted to like but have no plans of returning.

I have been to Paladar on multiple occasions the food is always excellent and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend this as a date night spot.

The food was really excellent. You can definitely tell the chef knows authentic Latin food. I absolutely loved my whole meal and so did my husband. The rum tasting flight was also a super cool and fun extra!

Overall, a great Father's Day brunch buffet. My wife and I didn't try everything on the buffet, but everything we did try was amazingly delicious.

This place puts itself out as a rum bar. They have like a jillion different types of rum. I guess at happy hour they have people taking rum shots. But we came for the food. The food is awesome.

Precious likes Cuban food. She likes the roast pork. We also like the tostones, maduros, cuban sandwich and other dishes. Precious also loves mojitos. Her favorite mojito is from a place on 8th Street. In addition to Cuban food they also have some Brazilian food.

I got the feijoada which is a Brazilian dish with rice, beans, pork, sausage and kale. The recipe isn't written in stone. It was originally created by slaves and only recently adopted by chefs in buen gusto restaurants. I've had it before, but let me tell you this was amazing. The taste they get out of the rice and beans stew even without scooping up a piece of pork, the taste is just amazing. I can't describe it, but I can't wait to go back there and get the exact same thing.

Precious got the rum glazed roast pork. It wasn't the same as standard Cuban roast pork cooked in the cajachina. We also got the tostones with pork appetizer. It was great.

And of course the mojito. Precious loved it. She said it rivals those served in that restaurant on 8th Street. It was one of the best mojitos she'd ever had.

We didn't get it this time, but I recommend getting the Brazilian cheese bread pau de queijo. It's like a light biscuit infused with parmesan although here they use a different type of cheese. That Brazilian pao de queijo is loved by everyone. When I visit my family I always bring some, and they just love it.

We met here for a business dinner with a group of 6. We enjoyed the bar selections first. The guacamole and tostones were great appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was attentive but not annoying.

Birthday dinner for my nephew. Food was great! Service was great! Very loud. Don’t plan on a lot of conversation ability but it was great fun and birthday celebration was wonderful!

Food as always was great. Unfortunately the service is becoming typically slow and bad. Credit card was charged three times for the wrong amount and server couldn’t get it together. Server was often no where to be found and took forever to get anything it took over 15min

Worst experience ever. Our group of 10 people were seated for lunch by the hostess, then joined by the waiter, at which time we indicated that we had time constraints to return to work. Even after taking our orders, we waited another 45 mins. for our food, which never came. Our waiter never updated us as to the status of our order until we sought him out in the kitchen, at which time we were told it was still being prepared. The only other patrons in the restaurant told us it took them an hour to get their food. After waiting for the 45 mins., we gave up and left the restaurant without telling anyone, because there was no one there to tell. The hostess disappeared and there was never sign of a manager or anyone else other than our lone waiter the entire time we were there.
They obviously have staffing issues including in the kitchen. We will not be returning to the restaurant for any business lunches nor will any of our party for any other occasion. I don't see them lasting very long at the rate they are going, if our experience is any indication of how they are.

Very disappointed that I made a open table reservation and when we got there the hostess said they had no tables available...."we could sit at the bar". We had to force the issue and get the manager. There were many open tables and we were told "they had many reservations". Really?, we repeatedly said that "WE" made a reservation. Suddenly they found a table after the manager was involved. Hostess needs some customer service training. Very frustrating start.....will not go back or recommend.

Mother’s Day. Paladar had a brunch buffet which was nice. Wish that they had included white rice and black beans in the buffet but overall the food was good.

We came for Mother's Day Brunch and it was fantastic. The food was very tasty, the drinks were great, and the service was good. I was very impressed, as I had never been here before. We were definitely interested in coming back to check out their other menus.

The manager Linda was friendly. When an issue arose with my cold lamb burger, a new burger was quickly prepared. Good seasoning. The traditional mojito reminded me of Miami. The only drawback was the waitstaff may have been short staffed, so service was slow for a Thursday night.

The group had mixed reviews. Some food tasty and others not so much. I had the cod in banana leaf and failed to find much cod in the dish. The flavor was good. My husband had the pork chop and loved it. Another friend had pulled pork and thought it was just ok. Seems happy hour is the best thing. Cocktails were great.

Business lunch with a very convenient location with much less congestion than being at one of the malls. I have previously only eaten dinner at Paladar so I was surprised at marginal service. The restaurant was not that busy. May have been an isolated incident and I will try them again. Food was very good and my guests were first timers and enjoyed the food.

Decent food, although everything seem to have the same sauce. For a Latin Rum bar the mojitos were not up to par. The service is friendly and super slow and inexperienced. It took 25 minutes to bring the free chips to the table, forgot to bring silverware and did not have a clue what Cobia, a fish that was in at least 5 of their dishes in the menu was.

Ambiance in the middle of tysons shopping area (by Nordstrom Radk) leaves a lot to desire, no wonder the restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night.

They do get kudos for the warm and trendy Latin decor.

There were creative Brunch options and the food came out hot and tasty. It is a relaxed atmosphere so make sure you are ready to hang out, take your time and enjoy the fresh made food.

We've been to this restaurant a couple times and are still experimenting. Everything has been good, and some things have been very good. This time we tried the guacamole, lamb meatballs, cauliflower and Cubano sandwish. The guacamole was bland (we ordered the traditional, but should have spiced it up), the cubano was good, and the cauliflower was VERY spicy and quite good. But the star of the meal was the lamb meatballs, an appetizer. We will definitely go back for more of those. I also loved the tiny fish tacos on an earlier visit.

While the menu items look interesting, the quality of the food was disappointing. My feijoada stew was below average, my wife's fish came with some original (but inedible and unhealthy!) fried batter chips as the carb, and the others thought their meals were simply average. The drinks were good but quite pricey ($9-10). The waiter was friendly but not informative about the dishes and his service was quite slow, though he seemed pretty proud of himself for having an Italian accent. The happy hour crowd looked quite happy and noisy, but I wouldn't recommend it highly for meals; certainly not a good value.
