Excellent chicken tortilla soup combined w delicious duck and pork tacos at a very reasonable price. Friends all enjoyed their meals as well. Parking is somewhat difficult, but worth the search. Nice job,,Paladar!
I had a group of 4 and we literally were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered food and it took forever to come out and to get our drinks. We rarely saw our waiter. Who/what else was he doing if we were is only table?
love, love, love...the variety on menu, the sounds of live band, and the amazing bar!
First, we have eaten at Paladar many times. Unfortunately, they has gone WAY down hill. We really liked Paladar for special occasion meals, but no more. We (2 couples) arrived at 7 PM for our New Years Eve reservation. The service was EXCELLENT. The guacamole and chips very good as expected. The entree's, another story. My wife order her favorite BRAISED BEEF ROPA VIEJA, it was mostly KALE! It never had Kale before this. I ordered the ATLANTIC COD “VERACRUZ”. It was a piece of small piece of Cod (4 oz.?), surrounded by a few shrimp in a sea of rice. Not very good at all. Our friend who wanted to go there for the "Pork Chop" was cress fallen to find out it was no longer on the menu. She ordered the CRISPY PORK SHANK. Our server came back a few minutes later to tell us there was none. Really at 7 PM they were out of a main dish ingredient??? We did order dessert and those were at least good. Our overall experience was no great. Also, we found out that the other locations have closed and I suspect this one is not far behind.
Great place to meet friends. The Tyson’s Corner location closed so I drove an extra 20 miles to eat at the Gaithersburg location. Great service and food was as expected. Wonderful Mojitos!
My wife and I come for the happy hour food deals, which are great. The regular menu is excellent as well. I like to cook and enjoy going to restaurants that make tasty meals that I'm not necessarily going to make at home. I count Paladar as a one of my favorite restaurants since they do a number of items in their menu very well.
Amazing food!!! Everyone’s dish was delicious.
Paladar is still a regular go-to for us, but the food is not quite what it was originally, and the prices have crept up. However, my biggest complaint is the cocktails which are tragic. I don't know whether it's their playbook or the liquor or the execution, but they are consistently bad.
We sat down and waited over 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table. We asked our waiter to bring us a straw for the water in the beginning... we didn't get it until the end of the meal. When we got our food both of our orders were wrong. My dinner companion asked for the sweet potato hash instead of kale... not only did they not get it wrong once but twice ... the second time they sent the hash but it was regular potatoes and not sweet potatoes. Bad service.
The service was superb!!
Amazinggg!!! Service was great ... the food was amazing ... and fresh! I Would definitely return again!
Both times we’ve been here for lunches, both with a small and large group, they have seated us directly next to the kitchen seats where it is loud and busy, with the only other customers there for lunch all directly next to us at tables and booths. I happened to eat here twice in a row this week for lunch and both days, I was seated in this area listening to and watching the kitchen, both times the only customers in the entire restaurant were close enough to touch-and both times service was lackluster and mediocre. I’m not sure why this is happening when literally the entire restaurant is empty, but it sure didn’t convince me to come back for lunch anytime soon. I happened to be there on business both times, which is why I didn’t ask for a seat change or better service-I had to politely put up with it...but meh, less than memorable...in fact, downright annoying.
Been there several times. Generally very satisfied. Did not like being told that I could not take my happy hour drinks to our table. On a Friday at 7pm...they were out of avocados which meant we couldn't get their signature guacamole yet they had avocados for one of the other meals. (Harris Teeter is a block away...get avocados!!!) The server did not handle either situation well.
The Mojo salmon was dry but the braised beef tacos were excellent.
Always a great experience when I come here. The servers are so nice and caring very friendly. Love love love!
It was amazing
Five of us came to Paladar to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The service was outstanding and the food was very good. We have a couple of people that can't eat milk based products, so that was a little challenging to work around. The waiter was helpful, and double checking with the kitchen. It was a nice celebratory lunch!
We dined at Paladar for our 10th wedding anniversary dinner date. It was hard to decide on our entrees because there were so many appealing options! The rum selection was also extensive and appealing. While the food was just shy of knock-our-socks-off, it was a quality, delicious dinner and we can definitely see ourselves returning.
I love Paladar. The Gaithersburg location is my favorite. I wish the bar was roomier. They cater to food allergies and celiac!
We always love Paladar. This visit missed the mark.
I tried the crispy pork shank for the first time. It had a lot of connective tissue and not that much meat. I liked the brussel sprouts but the kale which is usually a hit was not cooked enough and pretty tasteless. It was better after we had it redone.
Beer was good shrimp tacos good, just a bit too spicy.
Server was attentive even though there were a lot of homecoming groups.
I really love the Rum Flights here! We went on National Taco Day and had an awesome time. The music was a bit on the loud side; had to shout to hear each other and to order food/drinks, but overall we had a great time!
This is my second visit. Previous time my food was excellent. This time, not at all, except for the bread pudding. Service was good.
The food was just.not.good. The sock-eye salmon was dry and salty. We sat outside but were bombarded with bees. Overall disappointment.
Paladar is one of our go-to restaurants. We went there recently for my wife's birthday. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. The food, under Chef Greg, is delectable! WE love the ethnic breadth of the restaurant's menu. My daughter loved the beef tacos, and they were devoured in no time. I had the cod in banana leaf - extremely fresh fish with a nice melange of flavors (accompanied by corn and ancient grains). DELICIOUS! Paladar is one of those unique restaurants with reasonable prices, good portion sizes, a great vibe, an inspired menu (where there are several dishes that we have not tried and are interested in trying), and most importantly, amazing Latin American cooking!
Love Paladar in Gaithersburg! Came for birthday celebration and late night happy hour. The portions were enormous and delicious. The Mexican Chocolate Nutella cake was amazing!!
Really nice restaurant, especially the guacamole selection. The lamb burger for mains was exceptional!
Everything was great. Our server, Elayne , was awesome. Out of plantains was only reason for 4 star on food. And as usual, the rum choices were the star of the evening. Will visit again.
We had planned to go to another Latin restaurant in the same area but luckily we ended up at Paladar! Our server was lovely and so friendly, the food was incredible and the hosts ability to seat us outside was greatly appreciated! We’ll definitely be coming back!
Wonderful food and not too pricey. Will go there again
The food and service was outstanding. Asked for a recommendation and it couldn't of been better. My kids loved it.
The food was pretty subpar and expensive considering the overall taste. The service was sloooooooooooow.
Waiter was nowhere to be found.
A lot of intriguing dishes on menu, representing different Latin cuisines. Everything we ordered was tasty. Portion sizes were massive. Service was friendly and attentive. We are looking forward to going back sometime soon.
Always fun. As usual, great service and enjoyed brunch.
Food was very very good. I am a foodie and there was an interesting menu and our meals were delicious. Service was fantastic. Very loud but it was an Friday night and I believe the happy hour crowd spilled over
My mushroom empanada appetizer, duck tacos, kale side dish, and plantain-sweet potato hash were all exceedingly delicious. They were all excellent portion sizes. My husband had the 21-day aged skirt steak. The steak was good but the plate was steak surrounded by a very large amount of rice and beans, which was kind of boring. I give 4 stars on food because of that. For value, I also give 4 stars only because I think any Latin restaurant should give you chips and salsa without you having to order/buy it. All said though, loved the restaurant and will definitely go back again soon.
Food very slow... restaurant was not busy and it took a long time to get our tacos and kids to get their food... not the Paladar we remember unfortunately. Food quality not like it used to be either. I hate to write this.
Always have a great time at Paladar, the food is amazing and the service great!
Great brunch, service was a little slow but the World Cup was going on so they get a pass this time. I will be returning for the great brunch and drinks.
Food wasn’t very good for the price
Food was okay. Overpriced.
