The food was pretty subpar and expensive considering the overall taste. The service was sloooooooooooow.
Waiter was nowhere to be found.
A lot of intriguing dishes on menu, representing different Latin cuisines. Everything we ordered was tasty. Portion sizes were massive. Service was friendly and attentive. We are looking forward to going back sometime soon.
Always fun. As usual, great service and enjoyed brunch.
Food was very very good. I am a foodie and there was an interesting menu and our meals were delicious. Service was fantastic. Very loud but it was an Friday night and I believe the happy hour crowd spilled over
My mushroom empanada appetizer, duck tacos, kale side dish, and plantain-sweet potato hash were all exceedingly delicious. They were all excellent portion sizes. My husband had the 21-day aged skirt steak. The steak was good but the plate was steak surrounded by a very large amount of rice and beans, which was kind of boring. I give 4 stars on food because of that. For value, I also give 4 stars only because I think any Latin restaurant should give you chips and salsa without you having to order/buy it. All said though, loved the restaurant and will definitely go back again soon.
Food very slow... restaurant was not busy and it took a long time to get our tacos and kids to get their food... not the Paladar we remember unfortunately. Food quality not like it used to be either. I hate to write this.
Always have a great time at Paladar, the food is amazing and the service great!
Great brunch, service was a little slow but the World Cup was going on so they get a pass this time. I will be returning for the great brunch and drinks.
Food wasn’t very good for the price
Food was okay. Overpriced.
The food was great. It was a fun environment. The service was very slow though. We were almost done with our meal by the time the waitress checked to see if we needed any drink refills from our initial order. By the time the drinks were delivered we were almost done our meal and didn’t really want them anymore.
This place was utterly disgusting. I never has this level sup par food. I always go to the the one in Tysons and Reston Ingrid did not know what she was talking about. I have already posted the pictures and Videos on my Facebook account .
U went there for Fathers Day brunch. It was a buffet style brunch where each adult paid $35. The service was good, the food however wasn't all that great. I dont want to say it was terrible but the buffet options were rather short and not that many brunch style options to chose from. I do know this is a Latin American restaurant so of course I expected Latin American food but to price a buffet that much and not provide too many options seemed a little out of touch. Overall the service was good, and the food options could have been better. At least they had bottomless mimosas, which I really appreciated.
We had an excellent waiter who was very accommodating, since we had brought our own cake for my son's graduation dinner. My only complaint was that the main entrée was warm and almost cold and actually not very tasty. I like my food to be hot like it was just out of the oven. I ordered the Rum Glazed-Cuban Pork and was very disappointed. I've eaten there before for lunch and was very pleased with my selections.
The food was really good. The coconut mango rice was great as well as the plantains. The pomagrante mojiot was wonderful. I also ordered the chicken empanadas...which were good EXCEPT they were barely warm. So that was a bit disappointing. Overall, I will definitely come back
Nice birthday dinner. Too bad expresso machine was broken but meal was very good. Our server was exceptional, going out of her way to encourage bartender to make my wife - whose birthday it was - a Pisco sour, despite the fact that the blender @ the bar was broken.
Broken blender & expresso machine... Go figure.
Nice experience none the less.
Excellent food!! Mojo Pork Tostones are always delicious!! And so is the fresh Guac.. and the Cerviche... and the ......
I tried a rum flight this time which was interesting, especially by referencing the "rum bible" our waiter provided, with lots of background information. The guac and chips were good as always. I had the banana leaf cod; never before was it incredibly spicy, and had I know I would not have ordered it due to some tenderness in my throat this time. I should have sent it back, but service was a bit slow this time so I ate around the exposed parts and gave my dinner mate one of my shrimp which I could not eat. Not sure if they changed this item, or if someone just got creative at the wrong time.
It was nice to have a table out back on a nice early summer evening.
The food was really bland which is surprising for a Latin restaurant. The guacamole was great!!!...The "Jamaican Jerk Chicken" was not jerk chicken at all. Our waitress was WONDERFUL and so was our server. Overall I don't think we will be returning here.
We had a fantastic waitress and experienced great service and food at brunch.
I've been here several times and each time I've not only had a great meal but the menu has so many cool choices that you need to go back to sample everything. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on Rums and didn't push us towards the most expensive thing on the menu which I always appreciate.
This is a great place for any number of occasions and/or events. It's a good deal all around and I'm glad that they made camp here in Montgomery County.
Food was great but the services was no so great. Our drinks were delivered to the wrong table. The meal we ordered for the kid at our table never showed up and our bill had other peoples drinks on it. To top it off, the credit card that was used to pay was dropped and luckily the manager found it. I am hoping this was only a one time issue because it was busy, but I didn't feel like we were taken care of at all.
Was pretty good, nothing too extraordinary!
It would have been nice if we were offered a dessert menu. The waiting staff just gave us a check when we were almost done with the food. Looks like they were in a hurry. We usually order the churros but we did not order it that day.
He waiter didn’t have the table set when we got to our seat. We never got the complimentary chips and dip. We asked one of the servers if we can have utensils since they were missing from our table and she responded rudely. The food came relatively fast and tasted really good. The hostesses/hosts were very friendly when we entered and were easy to approach with our table not being set situation. I think we would have enjoyed our visit and the food more if the service was better.
Visiting friends in the neighborhood and they recommended Paladar as their favorite. For good reason! Everything was fabulous! Make your own guacamole, sangria, and amazing entrees. Don’t miss it!
Wonderful thank you!
I really enjoy going to this place The food is good and the staff is very friendly.
Overcrowded and food was subpar
Delicious & great atmosphere! Gauc & tacos are slammin’!!
We went here for dinner after attending a play in DC. I don't know if it is the right term but I would call it Latin fusion in terms of menu. Food was original and flavorful, we were both very happy with our meals. The guacamole appetizer, while good, was definitely lacking in onion but still enjoyable. We shared a flan for dessert which was exceptional. Service was consistently attentive and excellent. My only reservation would be the noise level which was very loud. We would definitely return if in the area. Also, they have an extensive "rum bar" for anyone who is interested in that.
Service was extremely slow
I met some friends for brunch. Cute restaurant and I loved all of the outside seating. The restaurant was also not that crowded, which is always a plus for me. Service was good, although a little slow. I was not overly impressed with my dish, but it could accommodate a larger group.
Waited for 20 minutes in bar area high top for our table to be cleared and for drink orders to be taken. Server was inattentive. Never asked how food was or apologized for the delay.
Tried to sit us next to loud, large party going on, and when we said no hostess said, yeah no one wants to sit there.
Then sat us at table with bar right behind us so still very loud but we stayed.
After bringing water, didn’t see waitress for 15 minutes to order, then never really checked on us.
I’ve been there many times before and have generally been happy, but this was a less than stellar experience
Like going on a gastronomic Latin cruise, with choices from everywhere in Latin America. While I like to sample something new each visit, (and get rewarded based on the amount spent each time) my wife's favorite dish is the Shrimp & Grits. The freshly made guac has been consistently good, and the other appetizers are large enough to share. Also strive to drink Latin at Paladar, with mojitos, margaritas and caipirinhas my usual choices.
Their rewards program is based on dollars spent on F&B, while there are frequent special rewards alerted by the Thanx app. Easy to use, and able to catch up in case a meal wasn't credited on the dining day.
Also appreciate being able to make reservations, even last minute if tables available.
Good food but slow service and was very loud
My cheesy bread was overcooked and my friend’s vegan appetizer came with cheese.
I made reservations on Monday for Friday and Open Table has the option of choosing outdoor seating, which I did. However, they do not offer reserved outdoor seating, which makes no sense. So our request was not honored.
Came here for a girls night with out of town guests. Our waitress did not speak very good English so our communication was an issue. Add to that the level of noisiness in the restaurant, and it amounted to a very difficult time communicating with our waitress. My out of town guests were asking questions about the available wines and the waitress was not knowledgeable about any of them. She also did not have any recommendations when we asked for her opinion on what food to order. She actually responded with "you can order whichever one you want". The restaurant was quite busy, so I guess I will give her a pass on the fact that she was not all to happy with having to answer too many questions. When we got our food, it was only lukewarm and my plantains did not come out until I had to ask again for them. Because this restaurant was not overly expensive, I was not too angry about all of the disappointments. I would try and give this place one more chance just because I liked the ambiance. I ordered the red snapper chef special and it turned out to be tasty (even though cold).
