We came to Palace Kitchen to celebrate a birthday, and we were a group of 7 adults and one toddler. As the toddler's mom, I'm always worried about bothering other diners with our daughter, but Palace Kitchen came highly recommended as a place with enough ambient noise to handle it, and we opted for an early dinner time too, to minimize harm.
We had an absolutely wonderful time. We were seated in a small room off from the main hall, which I hope helped to minimize our daughter's enthusiastic yelps for the delicious bread. Our server took amazing care of our whole party, and the food and drinks were spectacular. High points included the octopus and mussel starters, the trout with braised greens and mash, and the lavender lemon drop cocktails. Divine, and highly recommended!
Hosted a dinner for my 2 nephews and their girlfriends. The cocktails and Appies were
great. The wine paired with Dinner was amazing. A truly great time, though a little noisy.
All the food was worthy of this impressive restaurant's lineage.

Consistently delicious, the Tom Douglas family of restaurants has never disappointed us foodwise. We always go heavy on appetizers and split an entree so there's room for coconut cream pie! Our large-ish party (8) had trouble hearing one another at the opposite ends of the table but that seems to be the trend around the city.
My friends and I toured some of Seattle's best restaurants during Seattle Restaurant Week. One memorable dinner was at the Palace Kitchen. We started with some appetizers - Plin a pork-filled ravioli, Goat Cheese and Lavender Fondue and Nante Carrots - all excellent choices for our big party. Since it was Seattle Restaurant Week, we sampled a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts from the special menu. All were delicious. The Palace Kitchen is a casual, friendly and rustic-looking restaurant.
It is very loud in the restaurant - not sure why. We could barely hear each other seated at a table - perhaps the booths are better for that. I wish the menu had more choices, the drink menu has a much broader diversity than the food menu.
Still the best burger! We went for a birthday celebration before going to cinema. The palace kitchen is wonderful.

They only take reservations for parties of 6+, so gather your friends and make a reservation!
Delicious, unpretentious food, cooked to perfection, good service, and a real buzz in a restaurant. Great decor too! Add everything together and you have a really terrific restaurant.
We had a friend visiting from overseas and wanted to try a Tom Douglas restaurant. Having read some reviews, it seemed like the perfect place given it's location to his downtown restaurant. There were 5 of us at our table and we all had an amazing experience. Try the fried corn appetizer for sure and their salmon melts in your mouth! The desserts are best shared so that you can sample...coconut pie definitely a hit if you like coconut! Can't wait to go back.
The food was generally ok. Enjoyed the mussels and the trout. The ribs were dry as were the chicken wings. The hanger steaks (two people in the group ordered this dish) were tough and stringy. Worst $32 dish I've had in ages. Nice atmosphere. Overpriced
Great food! The plin is out of this world, perfect for sharing or as a entree itself! Pork loin was fantastic, halibut was succulent, dessert, of course, was killer (coconut cream pie!). We love going here, whether it's a dinner for 2, happy hour at the bar with friends, or a big group of out-of-towners as in this case, PK never disappoints. Everyone raved over the food and wine, and the server was perfect--he was on point at all times with our group of 8 without ever seeming obtrusive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Our reservation for a group of eight was ready when we arrived. Service was attentive without being overly intrusive. Food came out in a reasonable time despite a busy Saturday night and all items were tasty. We would go back.

Tom you are such a great chef, and visionary, however some of your neighborhood standbys are getting lazy in their approach to the food scene. We went because it was convenient to JA, however the menu is getting stale, and the portion sizes are much much much too big! would love to see a better smaller bites menu, so we can drink more wine, eat dessert, and have a more varied meal..........our waitress was very lovely, only overly busy. The runner was extremely rude and could not be bothered to check on a desert that took 20 min to arrive...........
Hadn't been to Palace Kitchen for quite a while so it was great to experience the atmosphere, imagination and quality again and to see that it hadn't diminished. The table service was superb. As it was Restaurant Week some great options were on the menu too! The only down side was that it seemed the kitchen was not able to keep up with the demand and an overly long gap between appetizer and entree ensued. We noticed that this affected all the tables around us so we wonder what happened? In any case, it was worth the wait!
I went with a bunch of friends for restaurant week, and we were NOT disappointed! Great, dull-roar ambiance, and excellent service (we needed to pay and leave quickly for a show we were seeing that night, and the waitress was very efficient in getting our checks). The entrees were filling for their price. BUT my FAVORITE part was the desserts! Wow, just an great dining experience overall! Definitely a place worth going to check out

I was expecting a bit more from the food as it is a Tom Douglas establishment - we only had burgers & fries but so we didn't get the entire experience but the fries were cold when delivered and the burgers, touted as very large, were pretty normal to small - they were cooked a bit too much as well - so a bit dry -
We were treating out of town guests and after touting the restaurant we were a bit disappointed
My party of seven had various time changes and special needs added to our reservation, and these guys were super helpful (especially Maggie, over the phone). Food was good, drinks were good, service was great.
We always love the varied menu at Palace Kitchen and the food never disappoints. This time, we called for a table for nine fairly last minute and they not only graciously squeezed us in, they got us in earlier than our reservation. This was greatly appreciated not only by us but our out-of-town guests who we had walked all over the city. Thanks, Palace Kitchen!
