At 630 in the evening you were out of Chicken. Really? Prior to being seated for dinner we stood at the bar for a drink. Getting someone to wait on us was less than impressive. Don't think I'll be returning.
An early dinner. Seated promptly. Great service and the food was excellent as always.
Amazing service all around - everyone was knowledgeable, super friendly and efficient. Food was fantastic - we trusted our server's recommendations and were very pleased. Great wine recommendation.
Eclectic and varied menu that delivered for our party of 6. Our only criticism was that the music/ambient noise levels made it difficult for us to talk to each other across the table.
Amazing food, friendly server. Server did say “entire menu is basically gluten free,” which isn’t even close to being true & led us to believe she doesn’t understand what gf means. She also didn’t put the order in for one of our drinks, at the end of the evening, but we didn’t get charged so that was Ok.
The overall ambiance is lovely- dark and warm... The problem is with reading the menu in such darkness was difficult for all of us. The phone flashlights came in handy! So, they could use pen flashlights with the menus and that would be helpful.
Palace kitchen is a fine dining experience with great food!
Favorite restaurant. Have been going there for years.
I’ve eaten at PK many time prior to a Seattle Civic Cocktail event. Always have enjoyed. This time was what I’d consider an off night. They were out of Hendricks gin. The trout I ordered, while deboned by the server, had so many bones left in it that I only had a couple of bites without bones in it. I’ve had trout many times in nice restaurants and if the trout is cooked to perfection, deboning is a great success. This was not a server issue. Our server was wonderful- friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Our meals were okay, but not up to normal standards. Bring back the carrot soup!
Went for resturant week and the service and food were good. The onion soup was excellent, my pasta dish with venison was good, and the s'mores ice cream dessert (can't remember the real name) was very good. Place was nearly full on a Sunday night. I'd definitely return.
Great food, lovely service and one of my favorite restaurants!
Awesome! Memorable! Loved it!
Outstanding dining experience! Starting with excellent service from our efficient, friendly waitress(Emily), my daughter and I had a wonderful dining experience. We shared the delicious Piedmontese ravioli appetizer, followed by the mixed chicory salad with pears, bleu cheese & walnuts. For our entree, we enjoyed the perfectly cooked wild Alaskan halibut w/clams, zucchini, new potatoes and saffron broth. The 2015 Piedmont Barolo was a great accompaniment to our dinner. We couldn’t resist ending our dining experience without trying the seasonal sticky pumpkin pudding, and a latte. I look forward to returning to Palace Kitchen again in the near future!
It was very loud and our mains took forever to come out. They comped our starter for the delay which was very nice. The Plin starter is amazing!
Goat cheese fondue and the wild halibut were amazing!
I didn’t enjoy the experience. There were three people in my party and we all feel rushed.
They brought my onion soup (good) first which was great.
Then they brought my pasta and their only dish came later. I ended up eating by myself and watching them eat.
Food was good but I will only be back if I’m in a rush and want to feel like I’m eating at a good college dining room
A bit too dark for my preference and the others with me who used their flashlights on their phones.
We had not been to the Palace Kitchen in several years and were very pleasantly reminded of the quality of food and service that are so characteristic of it and the other Tom Douglas restaurants in the area. We had an excellent meal, the service was first rate and the wine list, while not expansive was just perfect for our dinners. We will gladly return.
It was amazing. I was surprised at how great the food was and the service was perfect. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend
Loved it! Our server was awesome and friendly. We were seated well before our reservation time.
Food was delicious and the service was on point. Love the ambiance as well. We will be back!
Always a culinary delight and warm atmosphere.
Tom Douglas could make grampa’s 50 yr old leather shoe into a marvelous meal. Creativity intersects with familiarity resulting in a great memorable meal. Seattle is expensive and the Palace Is challenged to balance price vs. value - even so: give them a shot.
Very pleased with the dining experience.Great food: appetizers, entrees and desserts. Great service. Loved the music selection. Look forward to returning.
Best and Coolest restaurant in Seattle...the room has a big city feel but the menu has localized ingredients and soul warming dishes. Lots a restaurants come and go but the Palace remains the measuring stick.
Previously living in the Puget Sound, the Palace Kitchen was a favorite place for us to dine when in Seattle. It's been seven years and we planned a Foodie weekend to Seattle, WA. The Palace was high on our list and we made a reservation weeks in advance. We ordered the corn cob appetizer which was voted the best out of the entire meal (there were 6 of us dining). Two of us ordered the roasted chicken, one halibut, two burgers and the other two veggie side dishes. The halibut smelled so strong of old fish, not even this salty old fisherman could eat it; was surprised they would serve it. I was offered a replacement and ordered what I thought was tried and true roasted chicken. The three of us who had the chicken thought it was mediocre, not at all like before. The chicken meat was moist and flavorful, the skin soggy, and the sauce unappealing. The side of mashed potatoes were watery - again, surprised a restaurant of this reputation would serve them. The burgers were reported "fine" but the abundance of fries were greasy, really greasy. Our friend who ordered two of the veggie appetizers, one that was deep fried veggies, well hers were greasy as well. Disappointed, but hopeful, we decided to end our meal with what was one our favorite Seattle desserts; The Palace Kitchen's Coconut Cream Pie. The ultimate disappointment. The pie tasted primarily of whipped cream, and had a texture of an over abundance of air. Not at all the rich, flavorful, custard and whipped cream concoction we'd grown fond of - sadly $12 each. All in all our "Foodie weekend" was fun, and by far the Palace was our biggest disappointment. We dined on a Friday night, 7:30.
We came in for a quick dinnner before a show. Each plate we ordered was delicious. Services was perfect. Made it to the show on time.
Creative and tasty. Great combinations of flavors and appealing presentation. This was our first time at this restaurant and we would return anytime.
We were expecting more from Douglas. Since we love breakfast at Lola and the goodies at dahlia.
I ordered the short rib risotto, which was just ok. The short rib was overcooked so that it tasted more like well done roast beef, but the appetizer I chose was absolutely amazing. The plin (hand made pork ravioli in brown butter sage sauce) was so delicious that I am sure that I will dream about it. The sevice was very good and I would eat there again when I return to Seattle.
Good location, vibrant atmosphere. They were out of one of the ordered entrees, and the Gumbo & Jerk Pork Chop lacked imagination and heat. Very attentive staff. Best food was their hand-cut, pre-soaked French fries.
Three of our party had the fried turkey leg which was so so with marginal sides. My girlfriend had the Royale Burger ordered medium rare but she found it to be dry and unappealing. I brought this to the attention of our server and she had it removed from the bill. Over all we were disappointed with the experience.
Excellent food and service. Too noisy for conversation especially with hearing aids
Good food. Too noisy. Convenient to Westin Hotel. b
Second time visit from out of town and it was terrific! Sometimes servers dial it in when asked for recommendations but not here. Steered us to spot on selections after hearing some of our input and questions. That was truly genuine and showed the passion of the restaurant as a whole. Will be b.c. ack every time we hit Seattle!
Chef stan is killin it!!! Our food was heavenly. We were in that separate little room, which is quiet, but not as atmospheric... all is forgiven for the great meal and pleasant drinks.
We had great service and great food! Nothing but the best at this Tom Douglas restaurant. The street corn was delicious and the carbonara was perfectly flavored. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Best waitress ever-Tara Wiedenman. Perfect pacing, great food recommendations, great suggestions on things to do in Seattle. Jerk pork chop was succulent and tasty and clams with andouille sausage was equally good. Great ambiance. We’ll be back.
