Fantastic lineup of seasonal ingredients. The 8 course tasting menu with accompanying wine was filling and delicious. Although the dessert came in with apples in March, not sure where that one came from. Overall great experience and will do it again next time in Denver.

I had been around to different restaurants for food tasting but this is the worst experience ever I had. I have friends come over visiting but this dinner make me look bad. The service was rude the food was salty

Was the first time there always wanted to eat there. Food was extremely good. Staff was not friendly they talked with all the surrounding tables but ours got the feeling they were being judgemental like we couldn't afford anything because we were wearing jeans. Doesn't mean don't have money. Probably won't go there again.
Exquisite dining at its finest.....restaurant week is a great deal. Two guests unfortunately had to send their beef entrees back due to toughness, but the rest were great. The well provides fresh spring water so their coffee and water are amazing!
It's been a while since I've been here, but the service, food, and overall quality has definitely been maintained. The wine pairing they offered was exceptional, and each dish we had was fantastic! I will definitely be back soon.
Service was great and the environment was decent. I was extremely disappointed with the wagyu beef. It was so hard to chew and my jaw started hurting after just one piece. I honestly did not finish the meat which never happened to me before.

If you're going for Denver Restaurant Week, make sure you eat before you go. Portions were very stingy, food was only average at best. The place is beautiful, and the service was impeccable, but we won't be back.
It’s highly possible that the restaurant week menu It’s not their game to offer good quality for the price. We thought it lacked in overall value… Let me was tough, small portions, limited choices for each course, overpriced wine pairing.
We went here for restaurant week, excited about the Wagyu Beef entrée more than anything. I cannot stress how absolutely disappointing and tough the steak was. My boyfriend and I have a very hard time believing that it was truly Waygu Beef. You couldn't pierce the steak with a fork, and our hands were cramping midway through the meal with the effort it took to cut it. (This is not an exaggeration. We were even joking about it causing arthritis.) And don't get me started on trying to chew it! My boyfriend counted that it took him 47 mastications in order to chew one piece enough to swallow it. For me, my jaw would get tired and I mostly ended up swallowing big chunks of meat. It was unbelievable how bad it was. I got the squash soup to start, which was delicious, and he got the salad, which was unimpressive. The dessert was tasty enough, yet very small. Neither of us left remarkably full, though we spent $145 in total. It was not worth it for the restaurant week special price, let alone what it usually costs to eat there! The service was good and attentive, though it was clear that their main goal was to get us out of there as fast as possible. When the waiter asked how the steak was, and we responded with an unenthusiastic "it's OK," he just nodded and walked away, not even giving a care to our answer. We were forced to get a reservation at 5:45 since that was all that was available; however, by the time we left the place was still nearly empty, so it seems strange we couldn't have gotten a later reservation. Anyway, if you're considering this place to treat yourselves to a fancy meal, I would think twice!
As a Colorado native, I have been going to the restaurants at Brown Palace for decades. In the past few years, I feel the quality of all of them except Ellyngton's has decreased substantially. The menu at Palace Arms is very limited, with nothing really great or outstanding that we would normally expect. The salmon was small, dry, and uneventful and the filet was nothing spectacular either - neither meal was worth the price. The wine list was boring and extremely overpriced and the dessert menu was awful - there were only 3 choices and nothing sounded remotely appealing. We were incredibly disappointed. Denver has so many amazing restaurants and yes, Palace Arms has a nice atmosphere but that doesn't justify a bad menu and food. Very sad.
Dimly lit, candles on the table, white linen tablecloths, red leather banquettes. Ambiance that is hard to find these days. The elegant Palace Arms at the Brown Palace has it all. My husband and I decided to take a "staycation" in Denver, and wanted something special. We found it at the Brown Palace. The Palace Arms is popular. A week out they were booked all evening except for 5:30 and 8:30. We chose the latter time. The restaurant is not large, but the soaring ceilings make it feel huge. The tables are spaced at a comfortable distance so quiet conversation is possible. The food is excellent, the service superb. We felt well-taken care of. You must try the Valrhona Chocolate and Citrus dessert - heavenly. We will definitely be back for the Tasting Menu with wine pairings.
Everything was awesome! The only thing we were not impressed by were the drinks- they were sub-par at best in comparison with the food and atmosphere. The food was amazing though!
He me a was overrated. I have high expectations with all of the good reviews. The salmon was way under cooked, the steak was not a good cut of meat and was cold. The portions were really tiny. It is defiantly not worth the price which was a bummer because everything else about the hotel is awesome. You are better off ordering room service in your room.
Food over cooked and under spiced.
Went for Valentines day and had made the reservation several months in advance. Don't think they advertised at the time it was a set course but I found out a couple days before when they called to confirm the reservation. Was not hot on the set menu but it was to late to make new reservations. We opted for the wine paring with each course. The food and wine came so fast we felt like we had to chug our wine. Would have been done and out with four courses and four glasses of wine in 45 minutes till I told them to hold off on desert until we caught up on the wine. To bad, was really looking for a nice dinner.
We went on their Valentines Day special. It was our first time at the Brown Palace and it will be our last. They told us we would get wine with the $100 special and we got a few sips. Seriously, It was pretty close to an empty glass.
We felt very rushed, I’m guessing so they could get the next person in our chair. The service was not good and the food wasn’t the best.

The Palace Arms was a wonderful experience overall! The ambiance was very nice and the dining room only had around 20 tables, which made it nice a quiet. Beautiful dining room, too, with decorations that make it look a bit like a palace (appropriately named). We got the chicken roulade to share between two of us for an appetizer, and it was delicious. We also split the Beef Wellington and Wagyu Beef Filet for entrees, and those were superb as well. We both especially liked the Beef Wellington, because the pastry was cooked perfectly and had a great buttery taste to go with the perfectly cooked (medium rare) beef. The bread was great too, of which there were two kinds - one rye, and I can't remember the other, but it was delicious too. The rye rolls stood out to me, though. They have an extensive wine list with great by-the-glass options too. The staff was very nice and professional - very available and happy to answer any and all questions, they were very knowledgeable about the food, we didn't feel rushed to order, and they were great about being aware of conversation and not interrupting.
It is expensive, but for us it was definitely worth it for a special occasion or a very nice date night. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed in the menu at Palace Arms; it was my fault for not checking the menu. I was expecting a steak restaurant and the selection of the menu did not at all meet my expectations.

We went here last night for the first time. Made the reservation through Open Table and included that it was our anniversary. As soon as we sat down, they brought out a complimentary glass of champagne for us with multiple congratulations. We arrived about 15 minutes early because we weren't sure about traffic, and were seated immediately. There was also complimentary coat check and valet with dinner. The dining room was small but intimate, perfect for a quiet night together. We felt a little far away from each other across the table and noticed another couple had felt the same way because they ended up on the same side. It was a Wednesday night, so it was pretty slow, which meant we were attended to more often. There were four other tables sat the three hours we were there. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, about three different people were checking on us all night, as well as the sommelier who stopped by once. We ordered the 6-course Chef's Tasting Experience and were able to get one vegetarian and one not, as well as a wine pairing with each course. Overall, the food was terrific. We didn't know what was going to be coming out, and I think we each loved five of the six courses we got, and the sixth was a just personal preference, not the food itself. We both agreed that the mushroom cappelletti with a lobster mushroom tea poured over it was the most delicious. Portions were small, but with a six-course meal, the last few were tough to get through. As we paid our bill, I was handed a single-cut rose. Overall, the service and food were amazing. It was expensive, but the food was top notch, and we were well taken care of so it was well worth it. We will be coming back here and recommending it to everyone we know.
I have been going to the Brown Palace for many years. However, it seems like they’re losing their edge on the super great service they’ve always had in the past. I’ll go back again and hoping this was a one off that shouldn’t happen again. Menu has changed to portions are quite a bit smaller. Dessert was good but again the portions were very very small. It wasn’t a busy night by far, we should not have had to wait as long for our check.
We patronize the Palace Arms because it is quiet. On this occasion, amplified piano from the lobby made it somewhat noisier than usual but still far better than the typical modern place with an open kitchen, open bar, and muzak making conversation difficult. The food was outstanding except for the dessert we happened to choose (still OK). The wine list is one of the best.

Indulging at The Palace Arms is by far the best fine dining experience that we have had in Denver. Denver has some wonderful restaurants, and some expensive ones as well. The Palace Arms is a place where you can spend a lot but feel like you are getting every bit of value possible. We plan on returning for more special occasions!
The tasting menu featured perfectly cooked food. I especially loved the cod and citrus chocolate dessert. The flavors made it unforgettable.

Ignored at host station for 5 full minutes as host chatted with non customers. Not served bread until my second course. Sure would have been nice to have bread with my soup, which was astonishingly good. Served unfinished risotto: it was luke warm and had unmelted cubes of cheese in it. I had to convince my server of the fact. A waygu small plate was just ok. Soup, the small plate, and 2 glasses of wine totalled up at about $100. Wish I'd just gone next door to La Loma for green chili instead.

Yes the food is outstanding, but it is-exceeded buy the price. Not good value. I certainly do not mind paying for culinary creativity(Flagstaff, Boulder Co., American Hotel, Sag Harbor NY. etc) . The Palace arms is very overpriced(IMHO).
My husband and I try to go to a "fancy" dinner for Christmas every year. This year, we decided to try the Palace Arms, which has been noted as 4 or more stars for many years. We both got the 8 course tasting menu. The service was excellent. The ambiance is old-school and quite nice. The food was competent. There was nothing that stood out as particularly excellent, especially original, or really awful. The wine pairing were odd; this is the first time I have ever had a red paired with lobster. We enjoyed our dinner, but for this price point we won't be back.
Looking for a great business dinner meeting place, the only choice for me is Palace Arms at the Brown Palace. The dinner was spectacular and the service top notch.
Decor is too heavy and dark for my taste. Also the menu has two spelling mistakes. Unacceptable for the most expensive restaurant in one of the most prestigious hotels in the city.
The menu was too "frou frou."
There was too much effort to be different. There was nothing that was simply "good."
