Completely disappointing. I convinced a group of friends to try out this restaurant with me for restaurant week. The idea for restaurant week should be show me what you can do and if its great, I'll return. This was not our experience. The service was great, great waitstaff, but the food was incredibly sub par. The soup was great and then the meal slowly went downhill from there. Everything was over salted to the point that the beef was nearly inedible from the salt. The desserts that we had were dried out and just plain not good. The "creme brulee" tasted store bought and in no way tasted like creme brulee. The food was mildly warm at best, which seemed odd because the whole dinner took 2 1/2 hours. We waited quite a bit of time between courses, so you would think it was coming out fresh, but yet everything tasted like it had been sitting around the kitchen all day. It was incredibly disappointing all around. The beautiful ambiance and the great waitstaff just couldn't save an awful meal at an incredibly high price point. Will not return and will warn others to not bother wasting their money.
This, of course is a classic restaurant with a long history, so to be disappointed is very sad. I would not suggest going for restaurant week; it is way below the normal excellence of Palace Arms. The table next to me looked at the offering and asked for the regular menu; I wish I had done the same. You do not go there to choose short ribs, but that and salmon were the two choices. Soup, salad and desert were as per usual excellent. The grits and collard greens puree served with the meat would gag most of us. A true disappointment for my wife and me.
The front of the house was inhospitable. The food was plain and the entree was unseasoned. The service was very pleasant.
Very nice and special dining experience for our anniversary. The complimentary champagne was a nice touch. Our waiter Ivan did an excellent job
The Valentine’s Day set menu was ok and the wine pairing was expensive.

We dined at the Palace Arms six years ago and it was a wonderful, memorable event. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly; they made you feel like you were having an extraordinary experience. The meal, at that time, was one of the best we had ever had and we thought the price was worth the noteworthy experience.
That was six years ago and we were dismayed at our recent dining experience. The waitstaff seemed disinterested/bored and their appearances did not seem suitable for an expensive restaurant. The food was mediocre although expensive.
I can only assume the operation has gone through a change of management/ownership.
Sadly, we will not be recommending it to our friends or out of town guests, nor will we be dining there again.
This was a spectacular dinning experience. the service was excellent, the food was even better and the ambience was exactly what was desired to help make this a memorable dining experience. While the dinner was a bit pricey, the overall experience was one we will remember and enjoy for a long time, making the overall experience exactly what we were seeking.
During a mile stone birthday dinner they treated us like royalty! Exactly the experience we were looking for. The only disappointment was a $20 add-on for king crab leg that way that most 2 ounces. Homemade breads were wonderful. The escargot was spectacular as was the beef Wellington and shaved truffle.
We were greeted promptly and warmly, escorted to our table where our server welcomed us. The service was excellent -- pleasant and attentive but not overbearing. The appetizers and meals were delicious and well presented. Elegant old world decor without being pretentious and a charming ambiance. A delightful dining experience. The Brown Palace never disappoints.
Elegant surroundings, friendly personal attention from greeter through server. Unhurried. Food was excellent and portions were generous. We had sea bass and beef Wellington entrees. Arugula pear salad fresh and refreshing. Chocolate cake very very rich, almost like a fudge. Bread pudding was outstanding.
Amazing experience dining here if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Our server Harrison went above and beyond to give us exceptional service and to make us feel special! The food was absolutely amazing and I wish I could eat here all the time!
Old world ambiance sadly I think has seen better days. Duck and Beef Wellington were unhooked but don’t bother with table side Caesar salad it needs a lot of work. Wine card was fantastic.

The whole experience was wonderful. The food was amazing - everything we had - might be the best caesar salad I've ever had. And the beef Wellington was delicious. The service was top notch as well and the ambiance is so fun.

Overall, the food was good, but the ribeye steak on the menu was not good. We thought it curious that the waiter did not ask how we would like it prepared. Also, it was a very thin cut, which I thought unusual for the Palace Arms and for a ribeye steak. I expect top notch quality beef from the Palace Arms. Also, the deserts were not very good. I expect deserts at the Palace Arms to also be top notch.
Excellent meal! We went for NYE and had their pre fixe meal which was great. Between the two of us we tried all the options. The only thing that wasn't "perfect"( I say perfect because everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing) were the scallops. The scallops themselves were cooked perfectly but the sauce was weird. It resembled and tasted more like a gravy which didn't seem right with scallops. Definitely will go back to try their regular menu!
Perfection! Our New Year’s Eve dinner was five courses of deliciousness paired with delicious wines. When we needed a break, food service was suspended. If I had a criticism it would be that the wine pours and portions were 1/3 too large for my appetite.
Please don’t ever change!
We went to dinner on NY Eve. Food was amazing! Harrison, our waiter was amazing and the entire waitstaff was truly amazing! Harrison remembered our favorite wine and they made special accommodations by able to add my favorite appetizer, foie gras to my tasting menu. We even got to choose 3 desserts for each person and all the desserts were so cute and delicious. Definitely coming back!
When half of your party has to wear a coat to stay warm when they eat dinner something's wrong. Room was cold when we first sat down and remained that way all evening even after numerous request for more warmth. It's sad when you look forward to an enjoyable first experience at The Palace Arms and only come away with regrets. Will not recommend the Brown Palace to friends or out of town guest in the future.
The food and service was excellent. The appetizers were delicious and the table-side ceasar salad a treat, very good and a fun twist to a menu standard. The entre's were really superb and the sides complimented them very well. The sommaliere was a joy to talk with, very friendly and knowledgable, not stuffy. The wine list was very good and the wine we selected was a good value. Finally, the atmostphere was elegant and eclectic, that allowed table conversation without having to shout or cause a raw voice by the end of the evening.
This place was amazing. The quiet atmosphere was perfect for a date.
We were celebrating a landmark birthday and, while several verbal acknowledgements were made, no complimentary gestures were bestowed, which might have been expected at a restaurant of this caliber.
Thanksgiving-set menu. Beautiful hotel
Although this was quite expensive for the quantity of food, the quality was superb. That being said, my favorite part of the meal was the "petite Thanksgiving plate" which had small portions of all the key Thanksgiving ingredients. I APPRECIATED THAT, but it was pretty pricey.
The ambience, service and delicious food were perfect.
Nice and quiet place to spend an anniversary or date night. My wife loved the scallops, the duck was ok. We enjoyed ourselves. Ready to go back and have another great time.

Have been there several years ago. Food was good but portions small. In my opinion it is not worth the money but the Brown Palace itself came across to me this time as not worth the money.
We decided to stay in instead of going out and it was a great decision. The food was fabulous.

Over rated, food and service poor, price high! Unfavorable and would avoid. Another previous good place, now bad after Marriott purchased, owns and operates this hotel and its restaurants.
