Paizano's Ratings and Reviews
My chicken franchesa was very good, though the crust wasn't cooked long enough to have a golden brown as should have been. The spaghetti was the same pasta that every other Italian restaurant offers. My wife had spaghetti with meat sauce, which was nothing to write home about. The standard spaghetti was covered with standard premade canned tomato with some tiny meat slices (from the pizza kitchen) laced on top of the meat sauce, which there again, was nothing to write home about. The free standard oil & vinegar tossed wild field salad was something that comes out of a bag,
All in all, this was an average "southern USA Italian joint with semi fancy Italian dishes and pizza. Nothing spectacular !!
The pizza was good; the service was good; the ambiance was good. It was fine for a Sat. night with friends- nothing special. Also, the wine list is small and apparently there is a new ordinance that prohibits bringing your own. The county might regret that as we will certainly avoid eating in Gwinnett from now on.
I rarely write reviews, but the experience at Paisanos was so good, I had to take the time. I was reluctant to book a reservation here based on the casual appearance of the menu and building, but the food and service is the best I've had in years. I wanted to return the next day for more. We had the chicken eggplant and paisanos stromboli, and they were amazing. But the garlic bread appetizer was beyond anything I've had before. Combined with great service and a comfortable, quiet atmosphere, and I know I'll be back often.
Have eaten at Paizano's many times over the years. It's probably been a year since the last visit. Our reservation was handled well on arrival. The Norcross Art Festival staff was having a wrap up party in the restaurant which consumed about 2/3 of the space. The noise level was awful. I couldn't hear the waitress.
The service was terrible. We had a 4-days new waitress that while friendly didn't know the menu at all. She didn't bring the side salads until after entrees were served and we had to ask for them. It took way too long to bring the salads. Everything about the service was just off in one way or another. My wife's sausage and peppers dish was too salty (and I like salt). Our garlic knots appetizer had burned bottoms.
My party of 4 dined at the restaurant on a Friday evening, so it was probably a bit noisier than usual. However, the food was delicious, the service was great, and the price was right. If you are simply looking for a good Italian meal, I strongly recommend Paizano's.
Food was good. Lasagna not as good tonight as usual. Had very little meat as compared to a week ago when were there with family. Overall good food. They should serve better bread options. For Italian restaurant bread is not good. Bread knots are used covered in heated butter and raw garlic and are just greasy. If you ask for other bread it is never the same it seems.
Nice choices for beer and wine. Overall good place.
Food was good. We took family tonight and they enjoyed the food. Chicken Parmesan is very well done. Lasagna was very good tonight and had a good balance of meat and cheese. Tortellini with chicken also very good. Alfredo sauce is very nicely done. Restaurant should serve better bread is my only complaint. Bread is not consistent and sometimes taste old.
Great selection of wine and beer.
Our 3rd time there and brought some friends this time. Always a great meal. My wife absolutely loved the Ravioli & Vodka sauce (so did everyone else who tasted it). The calazones are amazing and so are the specialty pizza's. We had slow service this time, but we chalked that up to a 1st time waitress who had just started and we were he 1st customer. Usually the service is very good. But everyone has to start new sometime in life, so that's OK. We will be coming back!
My daughter's Father-in Law and wife were coming through Atlanta we had only met them once before at the wedding. Paizano's was the best place for a great meal and friendly conversation. The restaurant had our table almost ready but the 5 minutes went fast with an Ipad selfie of us. The appetizers and meal was what we expected, we have gone here before The servers wee attentive but not overly good pace of appetizer, wine and meal. It was the right place for us. Veal special was the best and we are coming back for that again soon.
The food is good but not great... the service adequate but not attentive...little things mar what could be a gem. My reservations were not honored (I came on time and they said we gave your table away since we assumed you weren't coming, although they did get me seated in 10 minutes)... The caprese salad had way too hard tomatoes and a not memorable mozarella... the manicoti was good...the garlic knots are decent but not great... and they were out of ingredients for some signature cocktails...with better management and staff this place could easily improve to a gem... right now it's decent Italian - a notch above Olive Garden...but it could be much more...
My partner and I went to Paizanos on Valentine's Day. We searched OpenTable, found it, booked it and made our way there. WOW we were so impressed. A very kind greeting when we walked in, great bar, people there were so nice. Then we were seated. Our waitress was THE BEST!!! Thanks Kristin for a great time!!! You were so much fun and we really enjoyed our visit. The food was beyond our belief...EVERYTHING was soooo good!!! Calamari, mozzarella sticks, pasta...yum...we will definitely be back. I can't stop telling everyone about it!!!
took my wife for V-day, and glad I made that reservation! was very busy. our waitress kept up with all our wants and needs flawlessly. portions were enormous, everyone seemed to be walking out with leftovers. the food was decent, but not outstanding given the entrée prices were 16-18 bucks. the veal was quite tough, but I didn't want to send it back and wait a half hour for a new plate.
again, we had a nice time, but I doubt we'll be back.
Decided to stay local for Valentines Day dinner. We were very happy in our choice to visit Paizzano's. The place was packed so the reservation helped tremendously. The food, atmosphere and decor were excellent with the overall service a close second (again note that they were packed). Definitely recommend this place to those who love a great Italian dish or pizza.
I chose this location for a first date. The ambiance was perfect! The restaurant was quiet enough to have intimate conversation yet lively enough to feel a part of the crowd (and I mean CROWD--it was PACKED). We were seated approximately 5 to 10 minutes after our reservation time and the entire staff seemed dedicated to our enjoyment. The food was EXCELLENT, as were the wine and homemade sangria. I recommend the calamari and the Penne Pesto. I can't wait to go back and try something different, though I'll likely stick with the calamari (best I've ever had).
I highly recommend Paizano's, be it date night, family night, or friends' night out. I definitely plan to visit again very soon!
We went to Paisano;s in a family group of 9 including 4 children. the service was excellent, and we all enjoyed our food. we had a wide range of meals and had a great overall experience. This trip we did not get Pizzam=, but we have had their pizza a few other times, and have always been happy with our choices.
This is one of our favorite restaurants that consistently serves good food with good service. The veal marsala is always outstanding as well as the pizzas, calzones and eggplant. We love to take our kids and grandkids here because there is something for everyone and we all fight over the garlic knots! Great place!
Paizano's is in a great old brick building in historic downtown Norcross. The Italian specialties are super sized and well seasoned and served hot! The Eggplant parmesan and Chicken Paizanos are special treats! The dinner salads included with the meal are extremely fresh and crisp-the gorgonzola dressing is not to be missed. The pizzas are another great choice. They are well done with generous toppings. The garlic knots are truly divine. Kids are usually present in early evening and love the food and get the usual crayons and paper. The host - Charlie - never forgets a face and makes you feel like family. Any time we take people here they always are ready to return
