Paisano's Ratings and Reviews
Overall food was very good. We had 3 appetizers, Caprese salad, Eggplant Rollentini and Calamari with Thai sauce. All very good, only exception was the calamari was slightly warm. The waiter did offer to have the chef make us a new one, but we did not want to wait. We had a pasta, spinach, mushroom and shrimp dish that was very tasty. The shrimp were large and cooked just right. My friend had Pasta Bolognese that was meaty and hearty. She really enjoyed it.
This is the second time we've been at Paisano's and this time we chose our dishes from the menu unlike the first time where we ordered the specials. Both times our food was excellent! The only difference was our service. Our waiter from our first visit was on point with the recommendation as well as the service. He was very friendly and came a couple of times at our table to ask if everything was okay. This time, they hardly came to ask if our food was okay or to fill our glasses. The waiter was not very friendly at all. Given that the food here is very good, we will definitely come back. We just hope we get the first waiter.
This was our second time at Paisano's and we were not disappointed! The first time we were there, I had the carbonara and it was incredible!! The next time we had dinner at Paisano's I was again wow'ed by the bronzino!!
Our server Steve was attentive and helpful and the ambiance of the renovated room was just lovely!
The only downside was the noise level. By the time we left at about 8:45 on a Saturday night, it was difficult to talk with my husband.
We will be back soon!
My wife and I have been going to Paisano's for over 5 years.
Wait staff: Terrific.
Front Door Staff: disastrous! It has now and has always had the rudest, most un-caring people at the front desk of any restaurant I've patronized. Even with a reservation, they seem to go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome and inconvenient. Once you get in, you'll be fine.
I'm so very sorry, perhaps I've not been the local who doesn't appreciate pre cooked and re heated entrees. Service with Carlos was amazing, but my thoughts are you could only do what you can do with the products. I'm so sorry it will never happen again. To be fair we only ordered the two meals but neither one met to my expectations,
Went there for valentine's day with the wife, we were surprised that they had a special menu change and price for the evening. service was slow, the waiters were confused we were asked "if this is our food" wrong table. this is the 2nd time this happened to us. we were here for mother's day, that day had better service and food.
we will not be going back.
A couple of suggestions: 1) bread should be brought warm and together with the drinks. This time it came cold and together with the appetizers. 2) I brought my own wine but was expected that the server will pour it to our glasses, but we had to request him to do it, he did it once and then we had to do it ourselves, it could have been nice that he filled our wine glasses at the same time he was filling our water glasses.
My first experience dining at Paisano's was outstanding. Seated quickly and hostesses was friendly. Waiter was great explained what the specials were and the cost. The food was outstanding couldn't have asked for a better meal. Price was good and definitely not rushed to get out. Arrived at 6pm and left at 9:30pm.
My boyfriend and I ate here for New Year's Eve. We had a 9pm reservation. When we stepped inside the foyer area, it was jam packed with people waiting for a table. We were seated at around 9:20pm. It was worth the wait. The menu was a prefix for $65 per person. The one thing that I did like was that it was a "bring your own bottle" restaurant. So you always get the drink that you like. I had the calamari for an appetizer and we both had the Milano chicken for the entrée. For dessert, I had the creme brulee and he had the cheesecake. The food was good and the service was excellent. I would definitely eat here again. The total was $162USD for the both of us.
Despite the fact that I screwed up my reservation, Paisano's staff could not have been accomodating. They found a table for us, right next to the window. The food and service were excellent. One tip: It is very hard to find parking nearby, so allow a few extra minutes to find a parking spot. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience!
Have been a few times before, came this time for a first date. Great ambiance and food, however this was the first time that the service was a bit lacking. The two hostesses at the front of the house were clearly stressed and quite unfriendly. The actual server for my meal was very sweet, but seemed frazzled and forgetful (didn't get bread until well into the meal, had to ask multiple times for things). I'll still come back because I like the place but service could be improved a bit.
We were visiting from out of state and had a delay in our arrival time, but we called a few hours before our reservation and they were great about it. Our food was outstanding and the service was wonderful. It seemed like all of the patrons were having a wonderful time. Very upbeat, friendly atmosphere. Thanks Paisano's for a perfect evening!!
No matter if I dine there during the week or on a weekend, it is always consistantly good. (certainly much more quiet during the week!)
Love the sun-dried tomato dip that they serve with the bread.
I asked for shrimp francese, which wasn't on the menu, and they made it fantastic!
Everyone who worked there that we met was wonderful. There were plenty of options for appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts to make everyone's palate happy. It was nice to BYOB, which kept the cost down. A great atmosphere, great food and great people! So happy with our choice!
I've been coming here since the restaurant was one store front and served pizza from the front lobby. My, how they've changed over the years. I typically eat here approximately 4-5 times a year, yet have never written a review, until now.
Parking on Fridays and Saturdays is going to be rough. There is only metered street parking in front and in the area. Meters are enforced M - Sat, 8am - 7pm. If you want free street parking, go on E. Passaic or Chestnut. If on Chestnut, cut through the library courtyard to save on a lot of walking.
Service is efficient and attentive. Even though this is a BYOB, they do an excellent job of passing around and topping your glass off. Very much appreciated.
Food is very good. In my opinion, their specialties are their sauces and pasta. The pasta is made fresh daily on site. People love to rave about their stuffed pork chops. Every time I go out to eat with groups, that is the most popular dish. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but a lot of people are.
Decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are beautiful and lively. Everything looks great and put together.
Value is a category they fall a little short on. Their prices are a bit high, especially when compared to their portion sizes. Their pasta dishes could certainly use an upgrade on size. Even though this is a BYOB, you'll still spend a pretty penny.
However, you must go, because the food demands it.
