My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday. He is a "tea-totaller" and I am not, so I chose to go with the Prix Fixe with the wine pairings.
We had the Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad and as always was superb! Our main entrees were very different. Hubby went for the beef sliders with fries and he LOVED them! done to perfection and the fries were crispy and hot! I chose to enjoy the lamb chops, also done exactly as I requested. Very flavorful and tender. Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake. While tasty it was not our favorite part of the meal.
All the wine pairings were well matched, but I do not prefer dry wines so I did not care for 1 of the 4 choices offered.
Very steady services and very friendly staff. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Harford County.
It was our first time here. Dining area is somewhat quiet so I feel like with the tables so close, we have to “try and keep it down,” otherwise our laughter & conversation could annoy or disturb our close neighbors. I like to laugh at dinner with my friends so that wouldn’t work most of the time for us. Next time I would be more inclined to feel like I should request the bar area because of that reason though I really liked the look of the dining room area.
Food-I would actually say 3 1/2 stars. Mussels were dry actually. All the liquid was all way at bottom not even touching most of them. I feel that changing the type of bowl they’re in might help some. The bowl was small so they were piled high on top of one another.
Cheese plate lacked cheese, but had a lot of little extras though to dip & nibble on. Whipped butter hazelnut spread was so good. That would be a nice touch to a before dinner offering of bread which there was none of either. Think most people like that before dinner.
Steak au pouive was good but not like oh my goodness this is amazing for $23. Just wasn’t much to how it was prepared but it was a nice piece & cooked exactly Medium how I requested it. It sat on a mound of frites. Again, frites was slightly dry & coulda had a little more flavor.
Flourless Chocolate cake was good. Liked the salt sprinkle on top.
Michele our server was wonderful!
One of our faorite dinning spots in Harford County. Always friendly staff and food is excellent.
Crab and lobster salad - delish!!! Want to go again soon!
This was my second time here ! The waiter we had was excellent and very helpful in ordering! My oysters could have been alittle more chilled but were fresh. My husband had the petite steak which would have been better if pre sliced and my cocunut cake was too chilled and really had no taste!
One of our favorites! Seasonal menu with a lot of options. The food is always fantastic and the pairings just perfect. Expanded cocktail menu too!
We called an hour before our reservation time to make sure they were open, and the recording said they had to close due to the bad weather. I was glad I called; however, I thought someone there would follow up with those of us who were cancelled in order to rebook.
My husband and I enjoyed every course! Great service too! Don’t know the servers name but she had blonde hair...she was awesome!
We usually have very good food at PAIRINGS,but our experience on February 22 was not good. We enjoyed the baked oysters(they are always great),my flatbread was excellent, but my wife chose the sea bass entrée which was the size of a sardine and was dry and tasteless! We go to PAIRINGS every 2 or 3 weeks so we're hoping this doesn't happen again!
Absolutely fabulous! Will definitely choose this restaurant for future special occasions !
Outstanding meal and service! 4 courses with wine pairing! Highly recommend!
We were a party of 3 and chose the 3 course prix fixe meals with pairings. We appreciated the laid-back, unrushed feel of the evening. Our server was very attentive but not the least hovering. Anything we asked for was provided. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, though a piece of veg or 2 would have been a nice addition to the meat entrees. We started with the cheese and charcuterie plate (a nice value with the prix fixe meal), cream of crab soup, golden beet salad(a must try), and a caesar salad (reportedly the best ever). We got the beefsteak, which came on a bed of truffle fries, the sea bass (fish special), and the pork chop. All were delicious. We particularly appreciated the flexibility with the wine pairings, since some did not want white though that was the pairing. Our waiter was able to recommend a compatible red, though, as he said, it doesn't really matter...just choose something you like! He was also willing to give us tastings of any wines we may want. It can end up being bit pricey, but there are ways around that since the menu is quite flexible. A great experience!
Valentine’s Day dinner
Great job with the wine pairings. Nice artwork and ambiance.
Never less than superb! Always leave wondering why we don’t come more often. Eric has been our server on several occasions and he has always been attentive, professional and informative- He demonstrates excellent knowledge of both the menu and beverages.
Food was delicious and paired excellently with wine. Our waiter Eric was very friendly and the overall timing of the courses was great for casual conversation with friends.
AWESOME food pairing but service could be picked up a bit.
A very enjoyable experience from the service to the selection of food and adult beverages. The mussels served "Brussels" style are always consistently good.
A plentiful serving was had. The truffle coated with Parmesan fries were delicious. The standout beverage was the classic red sangria.
A very nice neighborhood joint. One of the 2 best restaurants in the Bel Air, MD area!
We had a nice quiet romantic evening with prompt, friendly service. We would recommend this plave to anyone lookinh for a romantic evening out.
Food was excellent, but our server did not explain the menu and how the wine tasting worked so we missed out on the various pairings.
It's a great Bistro. I loved all their meals but I especially loved the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Their wine selection is pretty broad, and you can also purchase a bottle of your favorite wine and take it with you. Service is wonderful!
We've never been disappointed. The food is top notch and always delicious. Great dining experience for the any special occasion.
Went out for date night with the hubby. Service was friendly and fast. Wine and food were exceptional. My husband adds salt and pepper to all his food and never even asked for them. Loved the wine barrel decor.
My husband and I were there for our wedding anniversary dinner. We tried a new place and just loved it. Eric was our waiter and was informative about the menu and very professional. We loved the special way our dessert was served. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an extremely enjoyable celebration.
21st Birthday celebration- everything was perfect- champagne toast on the House and personalized birthday dessert
Pairings is a favorite. The food is consistently excellent, service is always superior, presentation is always good, ambiance nice, overall always an outstanding evening out. Saturday night was no exception.
Had a great birthday dinner for my wife, Michele our server was outstanding and the food was excellent!
I've never had a bad experience here. Even with the busyness of Restaurant Week, we were still well taken care of and the food was delicious as always.
Wonderful food and a great dining experience. I appreciate the changing menu.
We have enjoyed Pairings for many years, and they never disappoint.
excellent as usual, always a great experience
premier restaurant in Bel Air
The service is the best in Bel Air.
Excellent service and food! Staff was very pleasant and the food was amazing!!!!!
Food and service were great! I can't stop thinking about the Braised Veal starter, the hot pepper cheddar grits, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake. My mouth is watering just thinking about those. For the cost though I think the entrees could've been larger but they were tasty and my steak was cooked perfectly. Not a huge fan of the fries but otherwise everything else was fantastic. Service was great too, our 3 courses were timed perfectly. Would definitely like to go here again.
I made reservations 10 days ahead of time and noted that it was my husband's birthday. They tried to seat us next to the kitchen in a brightly lit room of the restaurant. I balked and they moved us to a much nicer room. Didn't understand why they
Usually I like their food; however I was disappointed with their new years menu
NYE Wine Pairings Menu was memorable; beautiful presentation, attentive wait staff, creative dishes with well balanced flavors and all perfectly cooked. I had two excellent wines (pinot noir and a sauvingon blanc which I substituted for the chardonnay they had paired with a seafood dish). The courses were a little rushed for a pairings meal and when requested, the server slowed the presentation. It was a little noisy, but expected on NYE. We were seated 20 mins late but offered wine and the chef made an additional special presentation dessert plate for anniversary. Well worth the wait in every way.
Excellent food with thoughtful wine pairings in a delightful setting. Well done.
