Pagoda Floating Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated a birthday there. Main reason was for the snow crab. The rest of the buffet is a bonus. Since we had a large party, we got the private tea house. This was our first time in the tea house. It was perfect for our party. Our waiter was awesome. Food was great as usual!!
To me, the best part of the buffet was the poke. I also liked the sliced tako and the salads. The meat was really fatty, though tasty, and the lemon chicken had no taste! Please pour more sauce on the chicken. However, the sautéed fish was good, and I liked the zenzai. People were disappointed that you no longer have the soft-serve ice cream.
Aloha, we had our company party in one of the outriggers and was excellent. All could converse easily - service was excellent - food was very tasty - lots to choose from.
A wonderful party for all. We will recommend and return for another event.

We enjoyed the Pagoda Floating Restaurant's Friday Hawaiian lunch buffet, which included kalua pig, laulau, lomi-lomi salmon, poi, and haupia. Server Keith Kawahara was cordial and attentive throughout our meal, and, later, willingly accommodated our request to take group photos in the garden above the koi pond. Delicious dishes and excellent service amid beautiful surroundings made our early New Year's family celebration a special one. We will be back!
The staff was friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the crab leg buffet and I ordered the regular buffet. Although the price is reasonable I was very disappointed in the quality and selection of the food available on the buffet. It was also bland and tasteless. We asked to be seated near the window and was cheerfully moved to the last remaining table for two with a view of the koi ponds. Unfortunately it was the closest table to the kitchen which produced a terrible smell. This meal out was to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I chose the Floating Pagoda because he wanted crab legs. With a little care and finesse in the kitchen this could be a great restaurant. Until then we won’t return.
My wife & I always enjoy eating at Pagoda restaurant. The food was great and our server, Dennis, went above & beyond in providing us an excellent dining experience. He always kept our ice tea glasses full, provided us a constant supply of napkins, removed used plates immediately and checked with us constantly if we needed anything. We will definitely be going back to Pagoda again in the near future.
Got there early, seat myself at the bar. Was greeted by bartender. I ordered a drink.
To start the evening right she made a perfect drink.
Party arrived, my family and grandkids total 7 of us. We were seated early and began at our own pace.
Everything was perfect. The taste and offerings you can't go wrong for the price. My fav were prime rib, crab legs, tempura, oysters, sashimi. It's divide into separate buffet islands. Salad bar, seafood bar, hot buffet and carving station. I'm not a dessert person but dessert selections was minimal.
Waiter was joking and attentive. Hostess welcomed us wit aloha!
The place needs a face left.
The food and atmosphere, casual and relaxing, island style dining.
I'll be back!
We had a great time. It was our Thanksgiving dinner due to we all work on that day every year. Service and food was fantastic. My grandchildren loved the colorful koi and big ulua fishes. Our server Van was friendly and attentive which made our evening even better. Thank you again!
When our party of 7 arrived for our 5:30 reservation (on time) we were greeted by the host who was quick to tell us we needed to be done by 7:00 because he had another large group coming in. The restaurant tables were only 1/4 occupied at that time & we were sitting inside. Our server was fantastic & very attentive. My kids loved the Koi ponds & enjoyed feeding the fish. The food was not worth the price of $39.99 per person. If you can dine there during the week when the buffet is cheaper I would say give it a try. The atmosphere is unique & watching the fish was cool. On a side note when we left there were still many empty tables available for the next large party.
They have spruced up the place with paint, new carpeting etc. so it is looking much better than the last time I was there! The food quality is still good and the staff keeps all the dishes replenished regularly. It is a great setting during the day and we had a wonderful time.
Had my son’s birthday dinner at Pagoda and it was fabulous! Got there a bit before the reservation time and they had our table reserved and sat us down right away. We got to eat at the buffet; with it’s many choices everyone was happy! And the desert table was awesome! At the end my son was presented with a “happy birthday” slice of strawberry cheese cake and everyone sang him happy birthday! Loved it!
Flavorful food. Delicious prime rib and crab legs. Staff was very friendly, caring and attentive. Would recommend it to anyone. Sweet waitress gave my children Koi food after dinner. I can’t remember her name but she was awesome (local Filipina 30-40ish years old)
Went for the weekend buffet. Pagoda was a tradition till Todai and Makino came.
But the food and service at Makino has degraded so badly, the $39 price and service makes me return to Pagoda.
The prime was delicious, but I fault it because they had no rare, only medium to well-done. Kept running out of steam clams. And the sushi bar only had California Rolls.
Even if the Crab legs were cold, and was immersed in the water on the steam server, it was flavorful and sweet. On some of the legs, when they were cracked open, the meat stuck to the shell.
Thought I could slip under the radar, but I got my birthday song and Cheese cake. Grand daughter was entertained by the strawberry made into a flower. Got upset when I ate it.
Little shy, but was fun.
Since the secret was out, I asked for a Senior discount. Nope... Not old enough... Yet! But I'll be back to claim it.
Later they gave my granddaughter some food to feed the Koi. It was the highlight of the evening for her. She never seen so many colorful fish in a feeding frenzy before.
She even had a chance to have the Koi kiss her hand.
Despite the few flaws on the food line, it was a very enjoyable.
It was my first time there and it was an interesting experience. Some foods were really great. Others, I could barely touch. The price was basically $40 per person for the buffet. However, there were 8 of us, and some of my friends were charged $62. Way more than what was advertised. No explantion was also given to why some got charged even more.
Very poor customer service. Checked-in on time for reservation, waited outside and was called 10 minutes after reservation time. Restaurant was not near full capacity during entire visit. Upon being shown to the table, wait staff took about 15 minutes before asking party of their desired drinks. The food in the buffet area appeared to be appetizing but the taste was very bland with what was selected for consumption. Selection at the dessert station was very limited and did not appear to be maintained for presentation. The assorted fruits appeared to have been sitting for a while and tasted exactly as that. Wait staff stopped once at the table to check on drink refills 15 minutes after completion of meals. The value of the food and overall experience was a bit substandard and I would definitely not recommend to anyone who would be interested in enjoying an unforgettable experience in celebrating or commemorating a special occasion.
We enjoyed the various choices of buffet dishes, particularly the poke & roast pork. The apple pie was very good. And the zensai was a good reminder of traditional times past. The special coupon misoyaki butterfish was very good, according to my dining partner. I was a bit disappointed that it was not the butterfish steaks I had envisioned. Overall, we appreciated the casual atmosphere & informality during this hot summer season. Dining partner said he's looking forward to dining there again. We agreed the price was reasonable & choices advantageous. Nothing much has changed in the interior décor, so it has an old & yet comfortable feeling, which is rather unusual with competitions today.
Pagoda Food, Service and Atmosphere has always been great. My family and I have been coming here for years and it has always been a super enjoyable restaurant to dine. Being local, the food has always been what locals enjoy, a great mix of dishes to include seaffod, salads, great meat items (prime rib), tempura, noodles and don't forget the variety of desserts. All you can eat for a good price. The servise has always been great, always polite and present when needed. We chose Pagoda over other restaurants simply because it's always good food, service and an enjoyable atmosphere for all ages. Many Mahalo's to John and the staff.
There were not as many food options as advertised to be a true buffet. The entries were not labeled at all so you had to guess what was in some dishes and that would be a problem for people with food allergies. The outdoor surrounding the restaurant was a unique twist which was great for sightseeing.
Facilities/decor look like they haven't been updated in 40 years. We used to go there a lot for family celebrations in the 70's and it looks exactly the same. Looks like it could use a good cleaning as the carpet and furniture looked a little scummy. Had to wait for about 10 minutes before the hostess even came to check us in. We had a 7:00 pm reservation. Looks like they were running out of food, but nothing ran out ran out. We just had to scrape the bottom of the pot for the soup and rice. The food was decent buffet food. The crab was pretty good as it was hot. The maki sushi was too big though and the nori was on the inside and chewy so it was hard to eat. The shrimp tempura was good, not too oily and pretty crunchy. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I probably wouldn't come back for another special occasion.
