This was our 2nd time at Pagani because we really enjoyed our first trip. The waiters are very nice though they didn't bring bread out until when we were served our entrees. I ordered the squid ink cavatelli which was actually only average though fresh. I enjoyed others' dishes though - the branzino was excellent. Their oxtail ravioli was not your typical ravioli whatsoever - it was very unique, flavorful, and full of meat. Wine selection is very good - my first time trying a lambrusco which is a sparkling red wine. Nice vibe on a Saturday night. Prices are consistent with the West Village.
From the stale tasteless bread to the flatbread that was wafer thin like potato chips to the paltry 3 scallops and tasteless bolognese sauce we were disappointed. Would not return.
I met some co-workers here for brunch after trying the place for their amazing Happy Hour. Everyone had such a great time that we are all looking forward to coming back and trying something new. Our server Oscar was wonderful and attentive!
I was here this past saturday night. I thought this place would be nice, quite and romantic, but it wasnt at all. It is a Very loud place, bunch of people standing at the bar which is right next to the entrance. Music was so loud I couldnt even understand what my friend was saying when she was sitting infront of me. Food is average, menu selection is mediocre. I would recommend someplace else if you want to have a quite dinner.
Gnocchi was incredible. Very cozy intimate space and great menu selection. Skip the polenta fries...
A bit annoyed when we were seated 45 minutes past our reservation, however the manager made up for the inconvenience by buying our group a round of drinks at the bar while we were waiting for our table. Appetizers were fabulous and most entrees did not disappoint -- I did have higher expectations for the gnocchi...
First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly they have an amazing happy hour every day that is really good value. The food was above average and service was good. It's cozy and the location is great. Would definitely go back.
Service was a little slow that night, perhaps due to a private party. The waitress never came back to check on our food and took a while to flag her down to get the bill. Had to rely on bus boys to get us extra bread and more water. Food was good but pasta portions were on the smaller side. Veal meatballs for started were good.
Tienen un servicio muy amable, la comida muy rica y las porciones justas para quedar satisfecho.
Sin ningún problema vuelvo otro día
Food was excellent, service was too. My friend spilled wine on my husband's shirt and about 10 people came to help.
Excellent food, great service, would recommend to a friend!
Pagani was suggested from a friend who lives in the area and we are so thankful for the recommendation. I took my mother in law, aunt and 13 yo niece. Food was fantastic, had lemon linguine, seafood Raghu risotto, veal meatballs, spaghetti dish and salmon dish along with a nice bottle of red wine. Every one raved about the flavor and delivery of their meals. Ambiance was nice, got a little loud toward the end of our meal (730pm) but it was the holidays and seemed like a local spot so we were OK with the noise! We were all very impressed by Pagani and will be recommending friends and family who are in town to visit!
While the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice for our group of six, the food left us all a little underwhelmed. After waiting nearly 45 minutes after our appetizers had been cleared, our meals all arrived somewhat bland and overcooked. For an Italian restaurant, we were expecting good, fresh pasta, yet all six of our pasta dishes tasted as if they'd been sitting for quite some time. In fact, two people described their dishes as if they'd been sitting under a heat lamp. The restaurant was quite busy, and mistakes happen, but we were all really hoping for it to be great and it simply didn't deliver.
The waitress was not very nice. Said that they are no wifi but then another waitress gave it to somebody else.
Great vibe. Friendly service. Great bar. Food very good. Price is right and the portions are perfect. Would definitely return.
The atmosphere is very expansive and sultry. Our waiter was good. The food was excellent! Great oysters $2 each. Everyone's pasta was tasty, from the richer tagliatelle to the leaner and fresh tasting spinach corkscrew pasta with wild mushrooms. My friends enjoyed their manhattans and old fashioned and the wine selection was great. I would go back for date night or with friends. Plus, I appreciated that they swayed my girlfriend before we all showed up... who does that in NYC anymore!?
Beyond noisy and hectic. Waited ages for the food. Scattered brained waitress. Food ok but that doesn't make it worth it.
Perfect pre-theater meal. I was very pleased with the waitress's suggestions. Loved the pasta /shrimp/squid ink sauce and the honey ricotta cheese cake.
Nice dinner, good value. Nice staff
Amazing. Food and drink and ambiance..especially for a medium sized group!
I like the laid back yet cute ambiance in this place, but the food is pretty bad, unfortunately. The pasta tasted like overcooked soup... And it's hard to make bad pasta!
It was a perfect dining experience! From customer service to our food, perfect 10!
Fun Italian cafe with a nice outdoor space. Veal meatballs, burrata and pork loin were all excellent.
The food was good, the service brusque; but the noise level was outrageous. Everyone in the restaurant was screaming for some reason It was impossible to hear anyone at our table. . We all left with headaches.
The food, service and accommodation of requests were excellent. The only drawback was the noise level even in the "quieter" back area. It was difficult to have a meaningful conversation. The staff are wonderful and very friendly though.
Chicken martini and gnocchi are always very good
The was delicious and the service was great!
Pleasant surprise. Needed a restaurant near an off Broadway play in the village, and found this place. Food was excellent and so was service. Ambiance in front room is nice, as long as it doesn't get too crowded, and nice outdoor seating also for those who like that.
We always have creative and delicious meals at Pagani's with attention to texture. Staff is attentive and helpful.
The service was great and food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at the all night happy hour. The ability appetizers, oysters, pasta, salads and drinks were all great and the wait staff was extremely attentive. They were also very friendly. I love this neighborhood gem.
We made a reservation for 9:30PM and were made to wait 45 minutes to be seated - at 10:15PM ! We were offered no apology from the host or hostess, nor any kind of complimentary beverage or dessert to offset our ridiculously long wait - WITH a reservation! I would expect to wait 45 minutes at this kind of West Village spot on a Friday night if I rolled up without a reservation - but if they won't honour the reservations they have then what's the point of making one at all? Will never go to this place again.
Met here for family/friend get-together; we were a group of 8 seated towards the back of the restaurant. We could talk easily among our group with little noise around us. Everyone enjoyed their food; I had the pasta Bolognese (sauce was very good; pasta was excellent!). We shared several desserts and all were delicious. Service was excellent; our waiter was always around to help us but never intrusive. Would definitely recommend!
The food was quite good. Our only complaint was the noise levels. It wasn't easy to have a conversation until later when people started to leave.
My favorite place in NYC!
You can always find good, tasty food at Pagani. Service is also very good and prices are also reasonable.
This was my second visit to Pagani and our group of 4 enjoyed the food. One disappointment was the watermelon salad because the watermelon was not sweet and was served warm. My cod main course was very tasty and my friends enjoyed their scallops. We also enjoyed our appetizer salads, both the white salad and the artichoke salad. My biggest complaint was that we told them we were going to the theater but even though the restaurant was not very busy, it took a long time to get our appetizers, and then to get our main courses. I had to ask the waiter 2 times if our main courses were on the way. However, overall we really liked the experience. The woman bartender was lovely and made great drinks which we enjoyed at the bar before we sat down. I would definitely return to Pagani.
Wonderful place to eat with friends or just your significant other. Service is great as well thanks to Caesar running the show with impeccable attention to its customers and what's on the menu.
The food was fantastic , really spectacular . The only downside was no A/C and we were just dripping sweat throughout the meal.
Go have yourself some pasta!! We were a table of 5 who all had different pastas and they were all great.
Quality of food is excellent. Lovely ambiance and great service.
