Packrat Louie Kitchen & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We went to packrat louis for our valentine lunch celebration. The selection on the lunch menu was great. I had the special and the kitchen was able to revamp the special for my dietatary needs. Our server was the best.
The food was well presented and absolutely delicious!!!!!
We will return.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Massively overpriced for what you received - and this is coming from a person who enjoys very fine dining. The food was fine, but nothing above what you could expect to receive at a higher end chain like Joey or Moxies. The service was adequate, but not amazing by any means.
All in, the $220 I spent for two people would have been MUCH better spent at a place like Hardware Grill. I probably won’t return.
Went for the Valentines Day meal. Service was excellent. Ambiance was excellent. It was the food that was the issue. Served burnt lobster tail, but overall nothing impressed. Just wasn’t that tasty. Had creme brûlée and brownie for desert .... creme brûlée was off in texture .... wasn’t curdled but had that texture. Brownie was not moist at all. Thought it was just me but others had the same impressions. Ultimately, can’t recommend it.
The food was excellent however service was mediocre. Our drinks were constantly empty and we had to ask for refills. It also took a long time between ordering and receiving our food. We allowed 2 hours for dinner and then had to be somewhere else and we just received our meals half an hour before we had to leave.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Neither of us had even heard of this place beforehand and after the first bite, the first words out of his mouth were “oh we HAVE to come back here.” Amazing food and excellent service. Will definitely be going again!
This restaurant has excellent food and craft cocktails. However, if you’re looking to be “wowed” by the service I’d suggest going elsewhere. I was left feeling as though my visit, while delicious, was slightly lack luster - especially considering the price point.
My quick review on this restaurant:
This was phenomenal experience of taste, atmosphere and service. We were recommended to come to this restaurant and I decided to take wifey for her birthday. Booking a table though the OpenTable app made everything very easy abd gave me the opportunity to tell the restaurant that birthday girl was coming.
On arrival the greater welcomed us with a birthday message and on our table was a hand made birthday ornament that was greatly appreciated. it was so nice to know that someone took the time to build such wonderful expression of thought for an incoming customer.
We ordered several starters and several mains and shared them
amongst ourselves. our food was cooked to our liking and we impressed by what we were tasting.
The service that we received was by far the best i have ever experienced. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, presented all options in a delightful and friendly manner, and was genuine in her approach. I wish i knew her name so i could personally thank the owners for having such a wonderful member of the team.
With many more birthdays and special occasions to come, we will be back
Great vibe and very clean. Food was next level and priced moderately. Service was excellent and seemed to be the case at other tables as well. The only downside side to our experience was a ornery table behind us cursing and carrying on. Staff was obviously aware of what was going on but didn't take any corrective measures. In the end our meal and the service was great. We'll return.
We arrived at 5:30 for our reservation. We were seated immediately. Chose our wine and had a few minutes to select our meal. Very hard to choose as all the options looked amazing. Had a good conversation until our meal arrived. Waitress was kind and helpful. Nothing above and beyond but good at her job. Meal was great as was the wine and I had the creme brûlée for dessert. Along with some port. Will be back. Too many great things on the menu not to. :) If you want a quieter meal an earlier seating is recommended. We had a good 45min-hour before the noise level increased. Not annoyingly just noticable.
The service was good, a bit slow from the kitchen though. The ribeye was the most grisly I've had from a restaurant, not a very good cut at all - and all 3 ribeyes at our table were the same. Drinks were overpriced. Overall it was fine, but I won't be going back.
We had a very underwhelming experience here. Our server seemed genuinely uninterested in serving us- he delivered a drink with curtled milk and just told my husband to stir it in- then repeatedly ignored us trying to get his attention. Finally he came to ge the drink and didn’t inquire if he wanted another drink- a few minutes later just drops off a new drink menu with no words and walks off. Our appetizers were good. I had Poke while my husband enjoyed some ribs. Our dinner itself was bland. A steak and shrimp and grits. The entire time our server was mia until of course it was time to pay and then he decided it was time to chat up a storm. I was annoyed I tipped him although to give him some credit- he didn’t make the drink and we didn’t see an abundance of staff on the floor. $130 ish plus tip and we left disappointed.
I had the zucchini noodle dish. Although it was ok . I would not have it again
I did not enjoy the cold tomato paste on around the edge of the bowl. I had a similar
dish at Beauty and Essence in New York and it was outstanding . Lots of room for improvement
as the first dish on the Entree menu. But this is just me
I had received a gift card for Packrat after missing a team building dinner there. My mom was in town so I thought I would treat her this time! We booked a reso on open table, arrived a little early but they were able to accommodate us. The waitresses were top notch, polite, friendly, on top of everything. They had a good wine list, I had to try something new and I loved it. Our food came within a good time and it was delicious. We shared shrimp and grits with PICKLED WATERMELON (omg soooo good) and the mushroom artichoke olive pizza (my favourite combo so I was very happy to see this option). The whole meal was perfect and I cannot wait to go back!
Our group of 6 really enjoyed our visit. The funky upscale warehouse style room had high ceilings, and on a busy evening the noise level was moderate. Our server had just the right combo of being efficient and friendly. The food was spectacular. Between two of us we shared 4 small plates and each one was inventive and downright tasty. The standouts were the grilled octopus - amazingly tender, and the lamb ribs - amazingly delicious.
I have been to Packrat Louie Kitchen & Bar multiple times over the years. The last few times the food was disappointing but I heard there was a new chef so I thought I would try it again.
The server was prompt and efficient.
The menu has an array of items but there are many listed that did not appeal to anyone at my table. The tomato pearl salad for $11.00 was completely void of taste and the’burnt’ bread was ‘burnt with a torch making it inedible. The Spicy Hawaiian pizza was very average.
Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
