   We go to Pacific Rim every year during restaurant week. This was the first rime we were disappointed. The wine was not chilled. The vegetables were not warm. The service was not up to par. I also think it is time to add some new things to the menu. We will go back and give them another chance but some improvements need to happen.

   This was my third visit to Pacific Rim. I'm afraid it was a little underwhelming. The food was good but not as "special" as it was on my earlier visits. I would still recommend it but with a caveat that the experience can be an uneven one. I thought it weird that the restaurant didn't have Absolut vodka.

   This was our first time at Pacific Rim recommended by a friend. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent, however the service was horrendous which made the whole experience unpleasant. Took 2 1/2hours to dine. The waiter couldn't removed the cost of dessert as courtesy for celebrating anniversary. The waiter was dry and didn't smile or even make conversation.

   Have been to Pacific Rim before and have had great meals. This time, though, the hamachi was a bit fishy tasting. Disappointing for a Saturday evening. But I will give the restaurant another try based upon good past experiences.

   Great food and service! I take my daughter in law here every year for her birthday. I had grilled prawns with scallops which was delicious! I have had their Scallops, Tuna and Duck before which are all excellent. They have great appetizers too. I had the spring rolls and my daughter in law had the tuna. There is a special molten chocolate cake which I highly recommend! This is my favorite restaurant. I have never had a a bad meal.

   Great restaurant and chef. Service was exceptional. Expensive but not unreasonably so for the quality. It's a good wine and dine type of place great for dates, a special event, and/or a fancy business client from out of town.

    Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally did for my partner's birthday. Our table was ready when we arrived even though we were a little early. Service was excellent, the host expressed that it was a birthday dinner which we put on the open table reservation and our server was in the know. She actually asked us up front if we were ok with the free chocolate cake that is usually offered and said we could choose another item if we wanted. Drinks were amazing, had the French 75, strawberry rhubarb julep, and the Singapore Sling. Food was perfect, we had the monsoon plate as an appetizer. A great plate to split and taste each of the appetizers so next time we can dive into the one we liked. Which is going to be hard because they were all very good. We had as entrees the big tuna and the ribeye each one was made to perfection - perfect balance of meat, veggies, and rice. The sauces were on the side and a great complement to the food. Ok back to the chocolate cake - it was warm and gooey and paired with kahlua coconut ice cream - can I just say it was to superb! Everything was great, ambiance was pleasant, food excellent, and our server and runners were attentive and knowledgeable. Will be back again for sure!

    The service was great and the food was delicious! We were delighted to eat the surprise dessert brought out for my husband's birthday. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks offers. Service was very prompt. It was a little loud for conversation but overall the atmosphere was romantic.

    Pacific Rim continues to amaze with its eclectic offerings, with an emphasis on seafood (hence the name). The appetizers are very good, but the main course is really over the top excellent. The service is outstanding, and the staff are genuinely pleasant and helpful. Location is around the corner from the mob scene so this allows for a more pleasurable dining experience.

    Awesome place, not what we expected but happily surprised. Food was great & filling. I had the Monsoon appetizer plate, a dinner salad, and the salmon medium well and my fiancé had the ribeye medium rare. I would definitely recommend it all.

    The food is always amazing. I got the coconut curry soup, market salad, and quinoa encrusted scallops. My husband got the cold sweet corn soup, market salad, and big eye tuna. Because it was our anniversary, we received the warm chocolate lava cake gratis. Every last thing, including the wine and beer selection, was absolutely perfect. And our server was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and the service was just fantastic.

    The Pacific Rim is my favorite Ann Arbor restaurant. The pace of the meal, knowledge and attentiveness of the servers, and presentation and flavors of their offerings are reliably excellent. I always leave with a happy tummy and a smile on my face.

    I was so thrilled that we made it back before the avocado soup was taken off the menu for the season. When our server realized that we wanted it, she ran back to the kitchen to make sure there was some left, as this was its last night! Everything else was cooked to perfection. The spring rolls were crisp on the outside, the calamari was so tender and flavorful, and every entree was superb. While we did have a minor issue with service this evening, it was immediately corrected and we continued to have a wonderful evening. I'm looking forward to seeing what the fall specials will be on the menu.

    Amazing food! Burst of flavor. Bartender was perfect. She made a drink error and was beyond professional in how she handled it. Own it. Fix it. Apologize. I was impressed. The server was ok but I have had better from them in the past. He has been there forever and may just have had an off night.

    Had a nice dinner on a Saturday night with a refreshing bourbon cocktail to start. We had the spring rolls which were tasty although I couldn't tell there was anything beside shrimp and vermicelli noodles in there. I had the prawns which were nicely grilled. I wish the crispy noodle were more crispy though. Mister had the scallops and the sauce was really good. Overall good just wish they could deliver a little more on the food. One thing that was a little annoying was that I made a reservation with opentable and when I called saying we'd be late the host said that was fine but then canceled the reservation so I had to contact opentable.

    We love coming to dine at the Pacific Rim. It is nice and quiet, the service unobtrusive, and the food is imaginative and excellent. The menu remains pretty much the same from one visit to the next - you can take this as a criticism, or realixe that perfection needs no improvement!

    The restaurant was virtually empty. Yet, the host insisted on trying to stick us next to the service station in the bar area. The couple we were with noted they had the same problem in the past as have we. The host may think he is being clever but it is just plain TACKY. Having to fight to get a decent table is not a great way to start a night out. As a result, neither we nor our companions frequent this restaurant as much as its food would justify.

    My husband & I LOVE Pacific Rim! It is my pick for birthday/anniversary/special. It is classy, & comfortable. The menu is innovative and the food is so fresh, delicious and always interesting. The ambience inside is very pleasant, modern but warm & inviting with interesting decor. The service is always good & our waiter was Mac, who was really friendly, welcoming and pleasant. The "warm chocolate cake" is absolutely to die for :) There is a good selection of craft cocktails, which are so good, too.

    We're two couples who enjoy good food and good service, and who meet every few months for dinner (and two of us work in the "fine dining" trade). We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. The venue was moderately full. The noise level was low-to-moderate so table conversation was easy with no spillover from adjacent tables. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive but not intrusive with good menu descriptions and suggestions (thanks, Susie!). The cocktail list was imaginative ; the cocktails we ordered were delivered promptly and were flavorful and perfectly crafted. The gin and tonic I ordered was infused with cucumber and lime, garnished with a cucumber slice, and was excellent (excellent enough to order another!). For appetizers we ordered two Monsoon Plates and Thai-Style Calamari. They were delivered promptly, were perfectly plated, at the right serving temperature and each item was delicious. For entrees, we ordered Quinoa-Crusted Scallops, Korean Marinated Rib-Eye and Grilled Prawns. The entrees, like the apps, were delivered to the table promptly and were perfectly plated. We like to share entrees so everyone gets to taste. The consensus was that everything was delicious! The prawns and scallops were "just right" and the rib-eye (done to "chef's recommendation") came out medium-rare and was flavorful and spot-on. The various accompaniments to each dish complimented each item perfectly. For dessert it was espresso, chocolate cake (which has to be ordered 20 minutes in advance) and ice cream. Again, timely served, well-plated and delicious. The chocolate cake was a generous portion, warm, rich and very chocolate (but, thankfully, no molten center), and the various ice cream samples were smooth and creamy with just the right amount of flavor. Bottom line: excellent service and every plate went back clean! Value? Very good for multiple cocktails, apps, entrees (including one split entree) and desserts.

    A local resident recommended Pacific Rim when I was driving through Ann Arbor, and they were spot on. The food is excellent. The service is very good. The atmosphere is warm and interesting. My overall experience was great, and I will recommend it in the future.

    Pacific Rim is delicious! The culinary expertise is obvious and the flavors are impeccable. If taste is important....this is your place. If you like quality, educated wait staff....this is your place. If you like a vast selection of beer and exotic cocktails....this is your place.
